Most people are slowing starting to realize their amazon prime membership is changing and that their shipping speeds have significantly slowed down. These delays are no hidden secret or tip but something Amazon.com has put in place for all prime members. Amazon could issue rebates to Prime members or discount the fee at renewal time for this change in shipping terms as a courtesy to current members. They can afford it.

AGREED! I get the initial demand and delay, but why, SIX WEEKS into this are they still delayed at least 2 weeks? If they don't offer a rebate or discount at my next renewal, I'm done (but that's not until Sept, so who knows what will happen).

It's just part of a business plan to destroy the competition and get people used to the convenience of online shopping with them. Then, Amazon will do what cable TVs did to all of us years ago saying, forget air TV, just pay for cable TV no commercials and watch your favorite shows "commercial free". Look at cable TVs nowadays, they slowly introduced commercials so we can get use to it.
Smile today while you can, because Besos long term dark plan will make us cry later once they destroy the competition. None of the US leaders or congress are doing anything to prevent the huge monopoly growing under their noses, and we pay these politicians to rub shoulders with large corporations like Amazon to suck our bloods.

The thing with Amazon is that they did not inform customers when they no longer were honoring prime. They have not offered even a pro-rated refund. They have even cancelled some of my orders! And they have not improved treatment of their employees. I'm cancelling!

When Prime started saying 2 day shipping starts after processing, I was out I can get slow shipping for a lot cheaper than $120 annually.

My auto ship for my medical supplies is something that I can’t get rid . This is because Walmart has decided not to carry the product in their store anymore. And for them to ship to me I need the order to be at least $35. I buy my supplies by the case now, and even by the case that is still less than Walmart’s base $35 charge. Normally if I was able to drive, ( I can’t, I am disabled) I could have the item shipped to the store at no cost to be picked up. But the rules surrounding pickup at Walmart require the customer be there within so many hours of arrival. I rely on public transportation which bring me in to our local Walmart from another town. It doesn’t go there every day. So I can’t use this option. That’s why I have to either stay with Amazon or wait until I have a large enough order. And being enrolled in the subscription plan, I at least , know stock is being planned for me. As long as I keep buying regularly.

We got my mom a shark cordless vacuum for Christmas this past year and she loved it! It was her favorite gift of the year! She may be a unique case and that she is a clean freak
I feel like amazon shouldn’t be charging us full price for their monthly or yearly fee since we are not getting what we actually paid for. I pay for prime because I like the 2 day free shipping. My items are not getting here for about a week or longer. So why should I pay them the full fee for a service they’re not fulfilling 100%.

Another thing to pay attention to, especially for unusual or specialty items is the built-in price of the Amazon item is often higher (including free shipping) than the same product purchased from an independent online retailer. Case in point, today I was researching a specialty raw food cat supplement and for the large size, Amazon was charging 64+ for the item with free shipping and a longer ship time, while the independent retailer was charging 55 plus faster shipping, with the shipping cost bringing the total to a dollar less.. not a huge price difference there, but since it's a product I need faster, I'm buying from the independent retailer.
I ended up cancelling my prime , I'm not that attached to the other benefits on prime. The only thing I'm kinda sad about not getting Amazon fresh for free but it's hard to get a slot & I'm not going to be using it that often 🤷
Interesting comments! My experience is that only 1 or two items from Amazon took more than 3 days since the Coronavirus issues started. Also, I was able to order a case paper towels with a one week shipping window. No issues, no problems. I have had much worse experience with Costco shipping. Costco said yes on paper towels and then cancelled the item from my order while fulfilling the remainder with a 4 day delivery. They also took on of the items and gave a 21 day shipping time. We did not need the item for about a month so that was okay but the overall Oder experience from Costco was unsatisfactory. When Costco failed to fulfill the paper towels, I went to Amazon. The showed 7-10 days for delivery. We got that Amazon order is 5 days.

I'm seriously considering cancelling. I use to love it. Now I use Prime fresh and whole foods, but slots are iffy, and they're always out of alot. Just heard in the news that their profits plummeted, even though their sales are so high- their operating costs are worse. Workers have to be 6ft apart so there's less of them.

I agree with you that prime is not worth the cost just for free shipping (on slightly higher priced products). If you use Prime Video and Prime Music, it can be worth it. I usually have prime about 6 months a year and cancel it about 6 months a year. I always have it in Nov-Dec for Xmas. Right now, having access to additional video content makes it worth it for us.

I haven’t complained about two day delivery, as we are all this together, and I know they are doing their best.
Most companies are doing something for their customers. Verizon gave customers 15GB of hotspot data free, USAA gave 20% off of my car insurance, and there are lots of others. Amazon the GIANT it is has not given back anything to its customers. Really we've been paying for a service and they have not been fulfilling it.

Amazon Prime Canada user here. I have experienced this shipping date game personally, however, my two cents on this are that the delivery dates are clearly not accurate or updated properly. What I mean by this is that I've bought many items "Due by ~1 month from now" that seem to, more often than not, ship and arrive spontaneously and unexpectedly within 2-4 days; business as usual. This may not be true for everyone but where I live, this has been "the norm" for some time since lockdown etc.
I canceled my Prime long before this Covid 19 thing, reason being is they quarantee the shipping date or the shipping is free (not sure if they currently have this with the Pandemic) but if you have Prime then the shipping is free anyways so you get nothing if they don't deliver on time.
prime used to mean "I get it in 2/3 days", now it doesn't mean that anymore... now, it could be anywhere between 2/3 days and a month. (seems misleading)
Had prime for a little while but I honestly don't shop Amazon enough to justify it.

I look for things I want========== I add them to my shopping list=========== when I get to $25, that allows me for free shipping on my items.===== Every now and again there is something in the list that requires a shipping charge. === Now amazon allows free shipping 24 hours after a purchase. Which is good in case you forgot something.

I don't have Prime. I ordered 2 items 6 days ago and tracking shows that they haven't shipped yet. They are delaying orders for people who don't have Prime.
I almost feel like.... In some cases.... It's price gouging. We were looking at identical products. The free shipping option was 1 month out but the paid shipping was a 4 days for the same product from the same vendor. That's when it's not right on a paid subscription

I have ordered a lot of items in the past month and many said I would not get the for 14-21 days and I got them all within 10 days many within 3-4.
I ordered a pool March 28 and as of May 23 I still don't have a shipping confirmation and it was a 2 day prime item at time of purchase. I also do subscribe and save and lots of items have been cancelled costing me the full discount so I'm on the fence with Amazon.
I paused my membership 3 days before renewal date and they charged me for another month anyway. As soon as I get a refund I'm canceling altogether.

I don't use the video sonic don't need to pay for prime. I can say they might say a week but they come early. I also had one to get loss but was refunded quickly

I had paid annual membership for prime in Feb and noticed shipments would take about a week or so to get here and so i cancelled prime on monday 5/4/20 and today 5/7/20 i got a full refund of my yearly membership.
process was done thru customer servuce chat and took about 5 mins and done.
Our mail person is now refusing to deliver our Amazon pkgs. Our pkg today was much needed medical supplies for our dog! I imagine our local post office will have a lot of angry customers on Monday.

Matt is affiliated with Amazon...he's done some live videos from Amazon especially on prime day but I do like how Matt is staying neutral on this but offering honest advice if you're just using it for the shipping and not everything else..probably not worth it right now but before you run and cancel take a look at what Amazon prime has to offer such as picture storage,free music,free movies,free book and magazines and a lot more!

Have not been able to find an answer from anyone. I ordered a very expensive device over $4000 on 17 January, after saying that my item would not ship until 31 January I canceled my order on January 20. Later I got email confirmation apologizing that they could not cancel the order. Obviously, I did not understand since they had so much time before the item would even ship and be delivered on February 3 of this year 2022. I disputed the situation with Amazon supervisor who also said they could not cancel the order. The amount charged to my credit card existed for about a week or so then it dropped off. Later Amazon seller reestablished a new order date which was 31 January. I did not create an order on 31 January. The item was eventually shipped on the 31st and was received on February 2. Is there any advantage to Amazon seller not canceling an order when there was plenty of time to cancel? I am baffled as a prime member to Amazon. Please explain if you can.

@@thedealguy Actually after about a week the charge dropped off of my credit statement; but on 31 January my card was charged again as if I ordered the device. My order date was January 17, but they made it appear as though I ordered it on January 31 and yes they did charge me for the second time. And this is after the fact that they were told that I actually ordered the device later from the manufacturer and received it within a week. They are devised had not been shipped by that date. I called it fraud because my original order date was January 17, not January 31.

There was no delay shipping information on there, and in fact my uncharged unshipped order on the site still says I'm supposed to be receiving them sunday and monday. Is this for real? If I had known about this bs I would have paid more on Newegg, which wouldn't have mattered because they don't charge tax so it would have came out even. They already shipped out my motherboard and ram, and going to be p*ssed if I have to wait around on Amazon parts.
I signed up for Prime for the free two day shipping but after this mandemic (man made pandemic) I truly and reconsidering paying extra for something I don't get. I am also miffed that things I want to purchase that were available to me before the mandemic are not even available to me at all. How many times it says "Does not ship" or "For Healthcare Only". Come on.

My membership was canceled because the card on file expired. Didn’t have prime for two weeks than i subscribed again and then corona happens. I haven’t used prime since I should’ve just left it cancelled
Amazon refunded 80% of my prime membership fee that I paid in March of this year. I asked if they were offering refunds since the benefit that I use the most, quick shipping is not happening. It's not their fault, but I don't wanna pay for what I'm not getting. So they asked me what I thought was reasonable. Really? I asked them what they were offering. Their first response was 50%. I asked if they could do better. Then they offered 80%. I still have all of the benefits that come along with prime membership. I think it would have been a better look for Amazon if they had taken the initiative to offer refunds. Nonetheless, I'm glad they agreed when I took the initiative.

I understood the delayed shipping at first. They were slammed. Everyone was! Overnight every person in America changed everything in their lives and demand soared on some products. No harm, no foul I got it.
But now. Now what's up? Supply is catching up with demand, hoarding has subsided somewhat and some of those "essential" items have been found. What's up now?
I signed up for Prime for quicker shipping (not even the free part). I rarely use all the add ons. If they don't correct soon the ever increasing prime fee will leave necessity land and enter into luxury land with few benefits. Betting they'll lose a lot of people.

Just don't see the value. the 2 day shipping doesn't apply to every city. My orders come in late a lot more than they should. Is prime video as good or better than netflix? don't think so. Amazon works best if your items arrive consistently within 2 days, and can't find a particular item anywhere else.
I’m not so sure. But if I can get the merchandise in a timely manner, I’m god. Just don’t want my order damaged upon arrival. For most essential needs, I rather go the stores and get them depending on the demands and the needs. Ordering essential needs online can be nerve wracking cause you need ASAP. To be honest, Prime has spoiled a lot of people. I’m old school and more hand on when it comes buying certain things. Stuffs online aren’t always what they say it is til you get it AFTER and be disappointed after waiting all that time. Just my take.

I will definitely keep my Prime. There's a lot of benefits that I use like Prime Video, Music and my Alexa. Right now, shipping is not that great but hopefully that's temporary.

Cancel Prime for one Reason every time I asked to Alexa play a song It told me I need subscribe to Amazon music for it then would give a playlist I did not ask for .... Pissed me off ...
I'm a prime member and I've ordered six items in the last week. So far four of the items came a day EARLIER than the estimated delivery date. The other two are expected this Sunday. I reckon I'm one of the lucky ones. WTG Amazon Prime, two thumbs up 👍👍👌
The shipping times they give you are guaranteed. They build in a day or two of "wiggle room" so they don't have to refund for missed deadlines due to traffic or weather delays.

I have been using ebay a lot over the past year, just be careful that you don't buy anything you need quickly from some other country. Delivery times can be weeks.
Prime should offer 2 accounts at different price points, 1 being just prime video and 2 being video and shipping. Reason is I don't order alot but watch videos. It's getting to expensive and going to cancel till something different Is offered.
Its part of the cost. If you need it now go and get it if you can wait save the money then order and wait for the free shipping. I can't afford to pay for fast shipping so I wait. Now having said that during this pandemic I had a friend use his prime to order an item for me and send as a gift. Just saying there is always a way if you can't pay. It was still a week instead of next day but surely faster than if I bundled to take advantage of the $25=free shipping. All the horror stories I've heard make me glad I never invested in that money pit

Its ridiculous to pay for a service within a service within a service. If your pay for Prime, it should include Fresh and Wholefoods. Such a monopoly kind of biz , if amazon ever gets a competitor, I'm so on board
Shipping is about to get more expensive with Amazon. If the post office wants to get a bail out the POTUS said they will have to change rates for shipping for Amazon
I would guess at least 90% of Prime members use other Prime services besides the free shipping. This prioritizing will end i a couple months, so I and almost everyone else should keep thier Prime membership.
I cancelled my Prime, because all of the videos I wanted to watch required an extra Britbox or Acorn subscription, not to mention many others. I also don’t like the way they treat their employees.
Got an Amazon warehouse just a couple miles away from home. No need for prime.

By paying for that memberships you already paying for that free shipping fee ... well how many things will you be ordering in whole month or year in one buy one.
You better buy all things in one go so you get actual free shipping without paying for membership, save some use of extra plastics too.

I solved my amazon problem my canning them and going Temu. Sure, its chinese but so is everything on Amazon. I just get treated WAY better and cheaper.

I totally understand about the free shipping. That’s my go to. I live in the Permian basin. Which is in West Texas that’s where all the old is drilled. Lately national deals and Amazon they’re both taking a little bit longer to get to me. But it’s part of where I live too so it’s something right now that I have to live with.
