I had 2 Shar Pei. One had the tightest ears. The other had huge opening in the ears. They both hated eat cleaning and bi-weekly baths. Weren’t crazy about rain either. Miss them both. Will see them when I get to Heaven. ❤️

I have to keep on top of my Boxer-Sharpei's ears all the time. Look inside them, smell check and visual cues like head-shaking and "low-ear" effect. I learned to brace the dog's jaw with my bent knee to stabilize her head while cleaning the ear canal with cleaner. Give 'em a treat afterwards they deserve it.

A lot of what vets do can be done by the average pet owner if only they would educate themselves, have the confidence, and refuse to believe their pet needs a veterinarian for general good health.

And then wondering why their ears get red or infectious afterwards when the acid also got rid of all the good bacteria. But at least the doggies ears are clean now, right babe!
Please do not do use this solution people!!! This solution caused my Pei to foam at the mouth and cry!!! We have since had to overcome potential aggression issues when we clean his ears and it started after (this solution) this experience. And I used half of the alcohol and vinegar. Saying they are disgusting is like saying infants, elderly or mentally incompetent people (who sh*t pi*s and vomit all over themselves) are disgusting....dogs are like many if of us humans you cant control What you aren't capable of doing yourself. No need in judging or being so hateful...god created us all equal in his eyes.
They just need regular washes, and ear cleaning. Not anything adnormal, every dog needs this, they just need it a bit more often. Every dog breed has health issues so saying that they are disgusting is going overboard

Your dog is beautiful. I have a horse coat sharpei. She looks kinda different to your brush coat. Sharpeis are just awesome dogs.

because the problems are nominal and people would rather breed the problems out instead of never have the breed again
every breed have their own set of specific issues. and it all comes down to if you want to tend to these issues or not
