You shouldn’t have said the Korea tour guide said it was good for local to see foreigners to realize how bad the situation is there. You might have just gotten him arrested and in a bad situation. Likely they monitor information about the country.

Seeing the world is an education in itself. Controlling people, what kind of pleasure is that? What is it they feel they are accomplishing? In the world now, that concept is trying to take hold. Well, you have a memory you won't forget, and am sure won't yearn to experience it again. What are you planning to do with all your travel experience? Do they have a Zoo and what about museums, plantariums and what about restaurants?.

In my opinion you paid to go to North Korea and the government use these controlled trips to create propaganda media to show their people how respectful the west is to North Korea. It reminds me of my time in Russia during the old days a very scary place to be. Good vid, but scary at the same time.

I enjoyed watching your video albeit I'm a bit speechless after hearing some quite naive, very questionable statements in which you just take over the propaganda and the narrative of the travel company (that comes with own interest).
for instance, that tourists who "didn't / don't follow the rules" somehow get "in danger" but would be "very safe" otherwise (only one example of many).
also, I can't believe your talking so much about rules but at the same time betray your tour guide (22:30).
since you have no way of knowing whether their statement is arranged by the regime to maximize tourism revenue by pretending to tourists that their visit to the open-air zoo serves a good purpose, I have no idea how you can live with putting your guide in danger in such a naive, trivial way. if their statement doesn't comply with the communication ordered by the regime, they get killed - and you'd be kinda responsible for that.

I would be so nervous traveling there, thinking I would accidentally do something wrong and get thrown in prison. What a terrible experience that would be to endure.
I watched another NK video today and it said that a teenage boy was gunned down in front of thousands of people, including his own mother, because he was watching and distributing K pop music from South Korea. Everyone there that witnessed the execution was forced to clap afterwards. I can’t imagine how that mother felt. Especially, the boy as they marched him out there knowing his fate…. just for simply listening to music. It gets under my skin to no end. I cried to my own mother the other day saying I wish I could do something to help those people. I’ve watched a lot of North Korean videos and footage over the years and I still shake my head over it and pray for those people daily. It is absolutely mind boggling. I pray that one day soon, they will all know what a full belly feels like and most importantly, freedom.
It’s hard to grasp how much they are forced to respect a man that murders their own people for something as little as having dust on the frame of a hanging picture, watching The Titanic or any other movie that they didn’t make and release about themselves, folding a newspaper the wrong way, taking a picture of the back of a statue, not having the correct haircut, wearing blue jeans or carrying around a Bible.
A lady was executed for simply thinking she wanted to flee to China. Just THINKING IT!! 😲 It’s the most absurd and ridiculous reality of any place on earth in my opinion and I can’t believe there are people so bent on controlling every little thing someone does or thinks. What a headache!! They are overworking themselves! I mean, the economy would boom if they would just let people be themselves!! They could all turn everything around and not have to play fake happiness! Think of the happiness just for allowing their people to be FREE to be their unique selves and work together to rebuild what’s been lost! You already know I could go on and on.
This is a great and informative video you two! I enjoyed it. And yes! I agree about the school children. I think it speaks volumes that you asked those people if the children could stop performing, as it was disturbing for you to watch. That mustof really hit home to them when you asked that question. At least, I hope it did! Great job! Glad y’all made it out safe and sound! Y’all are brave souls.

Isaiah 49:24-26 ESV - Can the prey be taken from the mighty,
or the captives of a tyrant be rescued? For thus says the LORD:
“Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken,
and the prey of the tyrant be rescued,
for I will contend with those who contend with you,
and I will save your children. I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh,

Watching all these videos where folks take a tour to NK, see the exactly same thing. No one needs to travel there anymore cause all they need to do is see these videos cause they are all the same. This way no one supports that type of living and gvt, especially since many who go are against it.

You are delusional. You say it sound like heaven but its the exact opposite. They aren't devoted, they are forced. If they don't praise their government they will be executed or sent to inhumane labor camps. Everyone there must have pictures of Kim Jong Un and must be kept pristine or else they risk death. Obviously you know nothing about what goes on there. They have child slaves forced to build railroads, they will shoot you just for watching a certain type of movie or listening to a certain type of music, an example would be one man was shot dead in front of hundreds of people and his own family just for listening to k-pop, after the execution they were then all forced to clap. People are executed for just THINKING about leaving the country. The people are starving and poor, the wealthiest citizens live in torn down shacks. I could go on and on about the horrible atrocities that take place there on a daily basis. Heaven? Please, you clearly appreciate nothing or the freedom you have.

Hello from austria, I have mutiple things to say, some you might want to consider:
I am sorry for probably hurting your feelings with my comment but what I actually wanted to see was a Video of North Korea like the Channel "DPRK Explained" did. Only maybe with actual travel tips etc included. Having that said I want to/have to point out some things you mentioned:
You started the video with that awful music (could be a white shark movie of the sort of "sharks are so dangerous") and went with the intro statement "Our time was really shocking"
(You do realize that in germany nobody likes any politicians anymore and big riots- farmer riots- are coming/going on, that drag queens go to kindergarten basically and the whole queer thing is simply driving everyone crazy right? I mean you do realize that some sort of propaganda is everywhere,
You said that you should not fold the newspaper so their leaders head doesn't get cramped.
(In Thailand for example stepping on a bank note/bill that lies on the floor and has the facfe of their king on it will/ca get you into massive trouble as well)
You present the people of North Korea in a way, that actually makes them look stupid and I do not think that is the case at all., sorry. I am not bought by anyone and I have no business with North Korea but by saying you basically you support the regime there? Well, you are from germany so you support Olaf Schloz not paying taxes in your own country by living there.
You do realize that this statement may have worked 10 years ago but in my opinion, people want to actually know what North Korea looks like and from what I have heard you can visit a lot of places without restrictions as a tourist.
They love their leader and it is not up to you, nor me nor any foreigner to judge based on the propaganda that we are getting offered.
It seems you are fundementally confused about the principal of propaganda in general because that would mean you should not visit any country in the world because there is corruption in politics happening. That is what you actually say. That is, sorry, stupid and naive. It is the typical mindset of green voters or liberals in general. Sorry but you won't even understand that comment probably.
Lets continue further: People are so cut off, well you do realize that Chinese tourists visit the country? Russians can and do, do you think they need us westerners to teach them how to live a proper life? That is really a disgusting thought to have about any civilization anywhere in the world and I bet there is a lot to learn because you can learn from everyone.
Next thing would be the cars or no cars or only a few. Well, I guess you heard the word traffic jam but since you tow seem to be the people who wake up at 12 o clock, go to university and then stand with your macbook and a chai latte in a cafe designing an app, you probably just don't know anything about anything.
Living and behaving different doesn't mean anything actually and you should know that, you are not 12 years old anymore but being and adult and being mature are 2 different things.
    Okay, continue further:
Dressing up for the mausoleum. Well, you do not go to church in shorts and flip flops here either, right?
The fact that nobody cares here if a politician dies says a lot actually but more about us and our politicians than it says about them. You know what I mean, or maybe not.
The fact nobody talked, well it is a mausoleum and they are respectful or sad. That is not in any way strange to me, it is their culture. Try to walk into a Mosque and start dancing to a disco song, probably not a good idea as well.
Next: What the hack has your dog to do with any of it? Again, its about NK and neither your beliefs nor your dog.
Next: Your "background information" is basically saying, we think it was that way but actually we have no idea. Great, thanks for nothing again.
Next: Okay, people working with their hands, thanks. I mentioned above you probably being the app designers going to university so you have no idea about work, thanks for confirming.
Since you have no clue obviously, I won't even go into the work challenge/riding bycicles etc. but they get an appartment from the government, is that so? Well, congratulations north korea then because in india for example they do not get that. In parts of Saudi Arabia they do actually get that also, did you know? Probably not.
The children in school: They had laptops, you do realize that? You also know, that when people come to see schoolclasses in germany etc. they put on a "show". That is totally fine, that is actually they way it goes but guess what: Those kids are not singing (Give it to me doggy) in the breaktime while teachers are standing beside them so that is for sure better than the current public schools in your country are where everyone is beating everyone up, including teachers. You know that right?
You started to cry? Omg, please, cry for your own school system which is at an all time low in a lot of major cities public schools.
You really are the liberals I am scared of actually and your mindset is awful.
About the tour guide, I am not sure what I should believe but one thing for sure:
Considering that the whole western world out multiple embargos on North Korea, maybe we contributed to the fact that they are not doing so well?
Ever thought about that? Probably not.
All in all your whole video consists of very little images/video material (you said you could have filmed nearly anything but you did not) and what is also mindbuggling to me is:
Why did you not visit the ancient sites? Why not book it? They have tombs etc there dating back 5000 years and more I think.
You are actually in my opinion the tourists that I would not want to have in my country.
I am really disgusted in so many levels I can hardly express.
Take care and please no more videos of anything, do yourself a favour, you make yourself look stupid.
