    Religion's ONE contribution to Humanity:
Stunning architecture to house monumental instruments for which epic music is written.

Daniel, thank you for this recording! I am originally from Yorkshire and drove over to Liverpool to hear recitals in the 60's; before moving to Canada and then the U.S.A.
I've listened to your recordings in St.John the Divine. You play with real panache and mastery! Thank you for another wonderful recording, particularly on this superb Willis
organ; I hope there is more of you playing there. Thanks again from an old Brit for bringing
    back great memories! John Lofthouse.

I was fortunate to attend this organ's 90th anniversary Festal Evensong and recital by Ian Tracey. And in 1970 I had the thrill of a few minutes playing it.

Thank you for sharing your experiences and musicianship. It's still amazing to me that you make things just so, especially the improvisations on a weekly basis at Big John.

Such an awesome piece!!! Firey, yet reserved with hints of true British composers!!! I live in America, and this is the only way I get to travel to other places and see and hear magnificent Organs. I wish I had your memory and could remember such grand pieces. Thank-you for this video. I loved it!!!! 🤓🤓

I must say: I'm truly impressed with this fine composition. I'll surely buy it. Your gusto, the harmony, are so well managed.
And then this instrument...my God. Always been my "forbidden" dream; I really hope to be able to play it someday.
Thank you again for this great discovery!
    Ciao dall'Italia!

@@contraposaune what fourteen are they adding? Liverpool requires extraordinary pipe scaling. It's a shame it's maintained by David Wells and not David Wyld!

@@contraposaune give the bloody thing back to Willis. Dr Wyld told me you're using secondhand Willis pipework from some redundant church which he suggested will be hopelessly underscaled for Liverpool's needs.

I listen to this clip, almost daily. I know you wrote it for Hazel and I had the pleasure of playing her in 1997, but as a true Brit, the sound of it on this Liverpool organ is exceptional. I also like your phrasing and the fact that although the piece is rhythmic, you give it a breadth of performance that allows the music itself to breathe.

@@DanielFicarri its amazing - I used to sit up almost every month in the 80s with Ian, the magna is less impressive at that console - imagine in the nave ! I can see you smiling through it all :). Cant wait for your St John Divine to be back this xmas - I hope you can record the same piece on that with the west end trumpets. I have been waiting for a recording of the refurbished Magna, it was finally put back (thanks to willis organ builders) on 50" last year after Harrisons reduced it in the 70's.
