Growing up is realizing Emily Gilmore is the best character on this show. A hurt mother trying to make up for lost time and an absolute lioness who will defend her family no matter what. ♥️
Exactly! She was never a villain. I saw the clip of both parents this week when they were talking about the pregnancy, and the way she defended her daughter, she was nagging and quite overbearing but she always wanted the best for Lorelai and loved her grand daughter since the day she was in the womb.
No, she isn't. She is the most entertaining, because the actress has great comedic abilities and played her to a T and then some, but she's not the best character. She's snobbish, narcissistic, never blames herself for anything, treats Lorelei like crap, ditto for her maids and anyone she considers beneath her because they have less money. How is that a wonderful great character?!?!?! She breaks Lorelei and Luke up, she never listens to what Lorelei has to say, she spoils Rory and wants to make her her mini Emily. When Rory moves in she controls her, right to what a 22 year old wears, where she goes and even who she talks to. If that is great character to you, you need to get your head checked out. Emily is god damn awful.
An emotional abuser who mentally drained and abused her own daughter. Both in childhood by restricting her individuality and breaking her down comment by comment, and accusing her of celebrating her dad’s death because she was too hurt to successfully answer a prompt immediately. A classist, rich white matriarch that disparaged workers. Weaponized formality against people if they didn’t meet her standards Even discredited her own daughter’s work, and is sure to constantly remind her of every supposed failure. In the most cruelly phrases insensitive comments imaginable
@@srishtyparas i loved it! she talked about her work as a dancer, being on broadway, her personal life & all about being on gilmores girls. lauren graham’s books are really good too
@:22 I love how the earliest episodes showed a foggy, cold weather scene in the windows etc. Much more realistic of the actual east coast seasons/weather etc ❤
I honestly understand lorelai and why she left regardless of her parents money. I’m Asian and I left my household, I was spoiled as shit with money not love or respect so I got tf out ! I was mentally fucked up. My parents ganged up on me immaturely. It’s best to be alone sometimes and love people from a distance.
That's the show's point from the outside (Rory's POV). They're just highly caring, a bit old school, but prioritize family. When you're involved (Lorelei's POV), you realize you'll be scolded and insulted if you don't do what they want. They also become extremely controlling, with their way being the only way,
She’s trippin, i wish i had rich parents that could help 😂😂😂 my parents aren’t super rich, but they’ve been lifesaving to me and my kids after my divorce. I’d never refuse their help. I get where she’s coming from though 😂
It's hard being a solo mum, I would not do it again. 1st responsibility to pay for me then what I want my life to be with a kid. Pizza every night is not a good nutritional choice.
@@SpaceCadete101 well 1 it’s a tv show and 2 lorelai doesn’t know how to cook 😂 but i agree with you, frozen pizza is not a great meal. i would have fresh pizza before frozen, it’s the same price
I noticed that too. The actress might have gotten a face lift and the hair due can make you look younger. In later episodes she looks far better than in season 1.
A wonderful woman who treats people who have less money as beneath her, who talks to her maids like they are slaves and fires them on a weekly basis, a wonderful person who spoils her own granddaughter to the point she becomes a mini Emily, a wonderful woman whose daughter prefers to live in a shed in complete poverty than with her. Emily is a petulant narcissistic immature woman endlessly complaining about nothing.

@21:17 THANK YOU for showing clips we don’t see on every Gilmore Channel! This clip point especially! It really shows what made us fall in ❤ with GG!
I didn’t even watch the show and I LOVE EMILY GILMORE!!!!
Emily learnt from her mistakes and when lorelai came back once again she made all the efforts not loose her or her granddaughter
love this channel so much
We love you too!
Emily brought a lot to the show! Best villain 😅

I wish I had parents like that.
Grandma just wants to be involved.
What is so bad about that?
She is strict, but better than what I see today

She wanted to control everyone, not just be involved
Ms Bishop is such a great actress I believe there is a Emily Gilmore.
Emily Gilmore...my favorite Gilmore Girl.
5:17 Emily is not wrong that if Lorelai was open to help earlier that with her drive & hard work she’d be better off
Money can’t buy freedom
30:21 Go Emily! Go Emily! 😃 💃
"Emily just a-wanna have fun!" 🎶
Good old times when it didnt matter how bad this actually is making it amazing!
I’ve always found it funny how they had to ring the doorbell at Emily and Richard’s home!!!
Richard reminds me of Edward from Dharma and Greg. Edward and kitty, what what a duo!
My favorite show. Also I would take a big cheque for a weekly fancy meal with Emily.
You imagine Gilmore Girls in this economy! 😅😅
Lorelei at the spa is annoying. It’s clear that her Mom just want to spend time with her.
Enjoyed so!
Rory pass me the cheese. In order to offer it to my husband.
Emily does look after her husband.
How many adverts does one video need! Know your audience!

I know a couple like Richard and Emily lol

GILMORE GIRLS is a show about a wonderful woman named Emily Gilmore, and the havoc wreaked on her life by her awful descendants.
Literally 😂
A wonderful woman who treats people who have less money as beneath her, who talks to her maids like they are slaves and fires them on a weekly basis, a wonderful person who spoils her own granddaughter to the point she becomes a mini Emily, a wonderful woman whose daughter prefers to live in a shed in complete poverty than with her. Foster Grove
Let me get this straight : you have contempt for the ones who can help you WILLINGLY and you MOCK them BUT YOU want them to make YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE
Emily is a contemptible person
I’ll pass on the drama and angst. Just send a cheeseburger with a firm bun, a wedge of sharp cheddar, and some loaded fries
