@@ig4966 yes I will update the post however the ball is in @EGO court; but IF they do not respond, I will get again contact them. I love EGOs products, this situation is definitely a defective charger and they need to come clean and replace the charger.
Please let us know how this ends. I hope they replace the charger. I feel your instincts on this situation are correct.

EGO admits that their product is defective, but they will not give me a new one
