I did not know this song at all before Angelina sang it and never heard it. I went back to listen to Etta James recordings of it, so Angelina is definitely bringing back the greats and introducing them to younger generations who have never heard this kind of lyrical and sonic quality before. Never fear. That is what makes her great and what has made her great from the start. This whole AJ journey has been an extra special amazing episode traveling back through and back again for so many of us. It’s like each of us are in Doctor Who and that Tardis is far larger than ever on the inside of the time travel device. We did not just ring up a song on our phones. We feel like we have really gone away, been somewhere and returned after Angelina sings.
These little informal "singing-for-grandma" takes are little treasures. This is informal. She's not trying to do anything but sing the song her best possible way right now, right here. So unassuming. Just try out this mike here and sing for Grandma. We are impressed. And knowing where the 17 yo is now, we're speechless. I believe she is 12 in this video, but that is like splitting hairs. I'm just so happy that she's singing for us while being so aware of the Light within everything. Thank you, King.
Angelina always keeps you guessing what & how she will sing a song. She's known as the "Girl With 1000 Voices" so she never gets boring, at least not for me since I've listened to her every day for over 5 years now & still going strong.

I love this different rendition of the song that Angelina chooses to do, close to the original but deviating from it in so many wonderful details that make it so emotional and passionate, she is actually 12 years old and is recorded trying out her new mic which she got as a birthday present for her. But this interpretation is absolutely by Angelina, a singer practically impossible to describe, but wonderful and unique, always. 💛🧡❤
At last - a reactor that has my kind of metabolism ( peaceful to watch, relaxing, like a spliff), and doesnt 'spoil' the performance being reacted to. Also very appreciative of the immaculate ability she has. I feel she is that once in several generations musician that appears, and her peers are a handful (Fitzgerald, Holliday, Vaughan ....acknowledged supreme talents). This performance is incredible !

Don't know about you, but if I close my eyes I hear a 30 to 40 year old black jazz artist, like Etta James, not a 12 year old Norwegian, Iranian, Japanese casually sitting on a couch trying out her 12th birthday present mic that she just had to test out, even though she is singing into the wrong side! Just stupifying and amazing! I Would love for her and Chris Stapleton to do this song and Tennessee Whiskey together!

To understand the various instruments that came into play with regard to Angelina's 'EP', for they would be blends that formed 'mixing' which was originally invented in the 60's by producer Phil Spector, who called it 'The Wall Of Sound', and used a team of engineers called 'The Wrecking Crew', and it impressed not only Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys, but The Beatles as well, with regard to the intricate complexity involved. Neither of those two singing groups, or any others that adopted 'The Wall Of Sound', had a lead singer with the unlimited vocal ability of Angelina, which is what you need to get the most out of it. The whole 'EP' (Old Enough) has 'Grammy Winner' written all over it.

I only disovered Angelina when she had just turned 12 and this was one of the first videos of her I saw. It was on her own channel then and I remember thinking she had the rasp up a little too much at the time. She took the video down and it's still not on her channels. I have since changed my mind and now I love it, but the convoluted story on how a newer sound track made it onto the original video... I don't buy it. I remember the original vividly (from the spring of 2018).
