Yep, doing the final edits on the OnePlus 6 review. It's 17 minutes and packed full of information (y'all wanted me to be more concise). Enjoy this in the meantime.
Even though I'm not in the market for a BlackBerry, I always enjoy watching your videos. You always have a certain honesty in your reviews, and I love seeing the different visual angles of a device that you don't see another reviews.
At least this review was unbias and fair. Just watch the Unbox Tharapy review and Lou sounded like a full on Blackberry hater. It was rather disappointing to watch.
Unbox therapy has been going downhill for years now. The man is just desperate for attention now because there are way better tech reviewers than him like marques brownlee. He cant beat the competition so he has to use clickbait and make his videos more interesting to watch
I'm usually a fan of black, but that silver one looks incredible! If I hadn't purchased my S9+ not long ago, I'd honestly consider the Key2. Great looking phone!
I debated a lot in my head whether to buy S9+ or key2. I have never used a blackberry but always wanted one when I was a kid. My Key2 is coming in 2 days. Cant wait man.
As a longtime blackberry user I loved the design and hardware of both key1 and key2. Ended up buying all 3 variants of key 1 and both silver n black key2. With licensing deal on the verge of its end I jumped ship n went on with an iPhone 11 but as the news breaks out regarding a 5G blackberry coming next year I've started watching the unboxing videos of blackberry devices.Still have the black key1 without Sim but of course I'm buying the new blackberry.
I bought the international key 2 128GB and I love it!!. Really brought it for the security features. I like the black phone each to there own. I went with ATT because it's GSM and the battery life is awesome!
Erica very thorough review. Thank you. I’ve noticed that you take the time to point out reasons why someone can have their keyboard and eat it to. Unlike some reviews that just expect the phone to be a s9 or Ix. Nice vid please keep em coming.
Blackberry has never been known for awesome cameras I doubt very much any Improvement will be made to it via updates it's interesting that you type of bit slower on it than glass While others possibly previously long-time users of BlackBerry have they discovered that the type faster on it than glass. Obviously this isn't going to be everybody's cup of tea. Personally I would have preferred a flagship priv 2. I appreciate the fact that you take time to properly experience the device before giving your review.
Thanks for a great, very balanced review of the KEY2. The camera's decent, that's good enough for me for clearly not why I'm getting it. Ordered the silver variant but you almost convinced me that the black version was even cooler ;)
Well let me tell you something, Blackberry sound is a patented technology, by blackberry......... And no other mobile devices can have better call quality than blackberry
I just ordered the Key2.....can’t wait to get it. I’ve been wanting to have one for awhile but the last I heard they were going bankrupt. Or something like that so I never looked into it until now. So glad I did and thanks for the review. 😊
I love BlackBerry phones. Right now have the Keyone that I rock as my daily driver. When people ask me about my phone they are always surprised that I'm using a BB. I still rock the BB Classic. I rarely take pics and I don't do any other social media outside of RUclips. Blackberrys are to be used by grown people.
yasmeen m Exactly, it is a merge of three BB phones. Bold (Keyboard), Passport SE (colors and arrangement between keyboard and screen) and Keyone (overall layout).
I agree, the KeyOne looked bad with silver due to the awkward banding on the top but the Keytwo with the matte finish looks great, like brushed metal. Paired with the chamfered edges and consistent design language and you've got a beauty.
The silver is so much more elegant but we can't discuss taste, I suppose. Whatever! I love mine. It is gorgeous in so many ways. The shortcuts are awesome. The scrolling is amazing. And their hub is the best on the market. Totally customizable phone
I loved the Samsung BlackJack II (in red) and I miss a REAL keyboard on my phones!! I'd go with the silver here, though. Personally, I would like an updated LG Quantum (which as far as I know was only a Windows Phone, and yes, I unironically love Windows Phones - they are fantastic for me) because it had a touchscreen on the front, but it slid out underneath to have a GREAT keyboard.
Glad to see a phone with superb battery life and no notch in 2018. I also had the V20 like you and the battery has not held up. Gotta run to the charger 2/3 through the day.
It’s kinda refreshing to see blackberry ph with key board as now a days all smartphones are full touch screen and all glass (front) design no matter it’s a 200$ ph or 1000$ phone.
I watch these videos and I know for a fact I'm not even looking to buy a new phone smh, oh well Edit: I actually want to buy one now lol (I loved my BB Tour when I had it)
Wow the Tour..that's going back a ways. I had the curve 8530, bold 9650 and still have bold 9780 and curve 9315 I keep for nostalgia.. OS7 devices are underrated and kick ass.
I would consider this phone if it were about $400, i really miss typing on an actual physical key board. I wish Samsung would have a phone with an actual keyboard. Great video!
Michael Duffy I might consider it, but it just does not holdup to a great media experience compared to the Samsung Note. I would like to support its effort though.
My question is about Apple Music, I have a BlackBerry PRIV and I use the app daily but last week they updated it and I wasn't able to use it because it says it's not compatible with the phone so I had to download an older version
Erica Absolutely enjoyed when you asked which Color I liked I just picked one as I liked Both. And yes right with you about being excited as I do like Blackberry always have. Awesome Video and will be waiting for follow up.Thanks so much for sharing Deb.👌💪👍
I wish they would make a phone with a landscape pull out keyboard. This would allow the keys to be bigger, it would prevent you from hitting the on screen keys, it would allow the screen to be bigger and it would also be great for gaming. You could use the capacitive feature of the keyboard for in game movement controls and then the physical press of the keys could be mapped to other controls. However this would make the phone a two handed device which could be a problem for some people, no messaging while walking your dog etc. It would be interesting to see though, in my opinion.
The best review of the Key2 EVER ! I had the KeyOne and got a Pixel 3 for Xmas, which has some awesome features but I gotta admit I miss the physical keyboard, especially the smart keyboard on the KeyOne and I hear the Key2 is even better. Now I gotta decide, do I trade in my Pixel 3 for a Key2 🤔 or is it a Upgrade ?
I've said on another video before. blackberry should do away with the navigational buttons and go full screen with a smaller bezel. You already have a keyboard. and you can always swipe to go back to the home screen or view all open apps. I very much prefer the bb 0S10 style and love the hub or swipe up to peek the hub. It will also be more fun to play games with the keyboard instead of touch. So the game developer should think of such availability. Blackberry world is great to have a version of the game that supports the qwerty keyboard. The only reason, you'll want a bb is, of course, the keyboard. If not, you might as well just get another full-screen phone.
Hello Erica, Could you do a performance review in a few months please? The factor that held me from buying the KeyOne was many said that the phone gets extremely laggy down the line.
@Erica Griffin hey Erica! I love your review. Thank you for this. I understand that a lot of people will only consider this as a secondary phone. However, if you care about security, by using a non-bb phone as your primary, you might as well not use a bb phone as your secondary device. Is this correct? I wish that the key3 will be the only phone in my pocket. I work in construction and we send back and forth a lot of indoor, low light photos, and color samples with the clients. I’m crossing my fingers that with the key3, TCL/BB will be able to resolve the camera software for good, and also increase the screen size by transferring the navi buttons on screen. If possible, I hope they transfer the headphone jack on the bottom so the wire doesn’t cover the screen while making a call and navigating the screen. I usually make a call with headphones on since it’s noisy in my workplace.
Aw man, I had high hopes for that camera. Is there a way to change the capacitive buttons, like on the LG V20? I'm a big fan of having the back button on the right.
We're in 2020 now , and I still wish to have this phone! , unfortunately it's not available where I come from , I'm not sure if it's available anywhere now!
Erica I just love the details you put in your videos, If MKBHD is the King of Technology Nerds, You are the Queen :) I love the way you explain about even the tiniest bit of a product!!
Erica, do you consider yourself faster on a virtual keyboard even when taking Ctrl+cut/copy/paste/select all into account? This is where I think the physical keyboard really improves efficient. Selecting text and waiting for the prompts for these options on a virtual keyboard are too slow.
The sym key allows you to bring up the virtual keyboard seamlessly with the Qwerty KB for me the camera has been great at night I use the flash then a quick edit thru SnapSeed my pictures have been excellent no issues
I really like this phone, but am looking forward for the full review, especially about camera, screen brightness, and how the phone is fast with comparing with iPhone .... waiting for ur full review ....
Came across your channel and I love it. Very detailed from other videos. Great review. what do you use to record and edit your videos. I am interested in learning how to do tech reviews?
I use the productivity tab and find it helpful and though some launch Google Assistant (you can easily use voice command) from the convenience button, I use the convenience key exclusively for the phone launcher. Rarely experience pocket dials and it is ready to go at any moment. I don't even have to look at the screen or keyboard to launch the phone. Perfect.
coming into 2022 and im considering buying a bbkey2. at £700 old new, or ebay opened new at 500(just going to pay the extra for new). I've always gone between iphone and bb. having the older blackberrys and then passport and key1 which I loved . I bought a iphone se (the newer SE) just for traveling through Europe and as always I have been reminded how much I hate iphones. I'm complely sick of touch screen phones they all look the same it's so boring. I just need to decide which colour, silver or black on a 2018 made phone >
Damn, I was intrigued because of the physical keyboard, but the screen is one of the most important parts of the phone for me. I also use the camera quite frequently and rely on it to not blur my photos. I dealt with that in all my budget and midrange devices before I got my current S7 Edge and I'm never going back to having to hold my breath to take a photo.
Erica, thank you for the helpful video and especially your comments about the keyboard. One question: Has the extra clickiness sound of the space-bar actually diminished over time so that it sounds more similar to the other keys? Also, do you find that the space-bar feel/sound is different between the black and silver versions?
The Keyone's space bar is more clicky than the other keys as well. I think it has something to do with the fingerprint sensor being built in. Doesn't bother me at all.
After watching this review I'm not sure I want to upgrade from my KeyOne. So, the screen of the Key2 is "meh!" as you say. Is it the same quality as the KeyOne? And the camera worries me now too. It was supposed to be better than the camera on the KeyOne. Edit: Looks like KeyOne may get the Oreo update. I'll hold off my decision until afterwards.
I always know that I am going to get the truth on what you feel about a phone. I miss having a physical keyboard but I'm not sure this implements it in the way I prefer. The slide of the screen on the Priv was more to my liking, however it was spect out horribly. So in essence I'm still waiting for an updated Priv.
can you confirm the Cast function on your Key2 on TV is choppy? I suspect this is due to Snapdragon 660. My Keyone Snapdragon 625 also produce choppy casting on TV.
Black all the way. I don't like the silver bands between the keys. The black one looks much more sleek. I pre-ordered. Excited to use this for my fast paced job
Wow I just want to know about the accessibility status of key2. I am using key1 with talkback.. But I am facing some issues with my phone. And I am still in the android 7.11. When will be the 8 update? Any idea?
Hi thanks for comparing the silver and black edition. Currently have the silver keyone. Would love to get the black for key2. I just want to ask about the external keys (volumes, power, conven keys) is it the same as with keyone? As I have issue with my keyone. Dust usually gets in the keys, making it hard to press. Hope to hear from you.
Typing on glass is faster? Tell that to the 60 WPM on my KeyOne 😂 I know it's not for everyone, but if you're good at typing without looking, physical keys can't be beat. Great review!
Hello Erica, 3 questions as I have a keyone and I am considering getting the keytwo. 1. Lag time...does the new model have lag issues like the previous? 2. My keyone tends to run hot at times where android has to cool it down, does the keytwo have the same issue? 3. How is the sound from the speaker? Does the keytwo have sound from both speakers or only one? Is the sound loud or on the softer side like the keyone? Thank you! Jonathan
Yep, doing the final edits on the OnePlus 6 review. It's 17 minutes and packed full of information (y'all wanted me to be more concise). Enjoy this in the meantime.
great video. hello and have a great day or night by the way
There are are no white point levels in settings anymore
No finger sensor?
Are you cancelling the review of the P20 Pro? Or is it still in the works? :)
Turning on the grid lines will help center your pictures.
With the trend of phones with no buttons, this gives me hope.
If added optical image stabilization, this is the perfect phone
The silver looks more professional and more unique. The black one makes it look like every other phone on the market.
Yes, a lot of phones out there with a qwerty keyboard. Lol.
It's a BLACKberry
You're such an excellent reviewer in that you zero in on small things which actually do make a difference to regular people day-to-day. Thanks Erika!
I'm still using my BlackBerry Classic. I don't know why but I just love a Blackberry.
I have a key2 but still using passport. BB10 didn't support social media but still the best OS ever made
Even though I'm not in the market for a BlackBerry, I always enjoy watching your videos. You always have a certain honesty in your reviews, and I love seeing the different visual angles of a device that you don't see another reviews.
Not sure why but this makes me miss the Sidekick terribly! 😭😭😭 I'd buy that baby in a second flat.
MothyrGrimm I still have mine boy those were the days lol
Sidekicks were the shit but they had bad quality control.
cloak and dagger I'm sooooo jealous!!! I had a yellow one.
lpphoenix131 that's okay! I'll deal!
I just miss having a real keyboard on a phone. I'd sacrifice all the pretty AMOLED screens for a nice keyboard.
At least this review was unbias and fair. Just watch the Unbox Tharapy review and Lou sounded like a full on Blackberry hater. It was rather disappointing to watch.

I want the passport 2
DBrasco SAME
Ain't coming out. BlackBerry is done.
I surprisingly really like the look of this phone. I think it's looks real chic, but I don't know if it's worth switching my Samsung Galaxy S9...
I just got this at my Walmart for $350 without activation. All black. It looks great .Love the keyboard.Battery is lasting 37 hours.
I'm usually a fan of black, but that silver one looks incredible! If I hadn't purchased my S9+ not long ago, I'd honestly consider the Key2. Great looking phone!

How is the call quality on this phone? What about the speakers? Nobody ever talks about this in their reviews.
This isn't the full review yet. Gotta wait for that.
Well let me tell you something,
Blackberry sound is a patented technology, by blackberry.........
And no other mobile devices can have better call quality than blackberry
As good as any other phone out there ?
ERICA I NOTICED YOUR NEW RING ! ! ! WHAT A LUCKY GUY TO BE WITH YOU.........
I wish that BlackBerry could make a extremely sophisticated version of the old Sidekick. That would be a cool phone!
I just ordered the Key2.....can’t wait to get it. I’ve been wanting to have one for awhile but the last I heard they were going bankrupt. Or something like that so I never looked into it until now. So glad I did and thanks for the review. 😊
Hi, how do you like your Key2? Thanks
This looks even better in black. This is the phone to use when in a tuxedo!
I love BlackBerry phones. Right now have the Keyone that I rock as my daily driver. When people ask me about my phone they are always surprised that I'm using a BB. I still rock the BB Classic. I have to say, I love your review of the key2 and it was a joy to watch.
I literally had a blackberry ad before this. Not even joking.
Jαdε ❪Mr. YetToBeThrownOutLemon❫ Crackberry Nation !!! 🤗🙌💪

Gotta be a miracle
Samir Noor Or, makes you question Erica a bit, n'est pas ?? 🤔
Is Blackberry still the most secure phone?
Considering to buy one.
One of the most secure, more secure than most Android and iOS
I've always wanted a Blackberry phone but never had one so hopefully in the future I can get one.
You can customise the colour balance in developer settings!
Black or Silver? i am 50-50! Sometimes i prefer silver, sometimes black. Can't decide...
Why not buy both?
chltmdwp I just ordered the silver
Chris Bochtis great choice i have the passport silver edition and this key 2 are really beautiful
Nah that silver one looks soo much nicer than the all black 🔥
Naaah
James Russo And yes
James Russo reminds me of mu BlackBoard Passport Silver Edition
yasmeen m Exactly, it is a merge of three BB phones.
This is a good video, goes into a lot more detail than most reviewers have
The silver is so much more elegant but we can't discuss taste, I suppose. Whatever! I love mine. It is gorgeous in so many ways. The shortcuts are awesome. The scrolling is amazing. And their hub is the best on the market. Totally customizable phone
The black one looks so much black and so much rad...😍
I loved the Samsung BlackJack II (in red) and I miss a REAL keyboard on my phones!! I'd go with the silver here, though.
Personally, I would like an updated LG Quantum (which as far as I know was only a Windows Phone, and yes, I unironically love Windows Phones - they are fantastic for me) because it had a touchscreen on the front, but it slid out underneath to have a GREAT keyboard.
Is a "full review" coming for the Key2?
hi Erica! are you gonna do an update video on the Key2? was looking forward to see your 1 month review 😄
Can't wait for your full review of this phone!
Had a blackjack back in the day and was literally thinking it looked similar right before you said it
Still using mine (black) in 2020 and I love it.
Glad to see a phone with superb battery life and no notch in 2018. I also had the V20 like you and the battery has not held up. Gotta run to the charger 2/3 through the day.
Welcome back💙
It’s kinda refreshing to see blackberry ph with key board as now a days all smartphones are full touch screen and all glass (front) design no matter it’s a 200$ ph or 1000$ phone.
Since when is it easier and faster to type on glass ? 😂 i type as fast on my keyone than on my laptop ... Never achieved that on any glass ...
I watch these videos and I know for a fact I'm not even looking to buy a new phone smh, oh well
Edit: I actually want to buy one now lol (I loved my BB Tour when I had it)
Kenny 92 I had the BlackBerry Pearl, Curve, Storm...... I miss the old school BlackBerry experience!
Wow the Tour..that's going back a ways. I had the curve 8530, bold 9650 and still have bold 9780 and curve 9315 I keep for nostalgia.. OS7 devices are underrated and kick ass.
Kenny 92 the key2 is awesome. Battery is phenomenal
Thank you for the nice review. I have the Key One black edition. I'll be interested to find out whether the Key 2 would be a smart upgrade or not.
I would consider this phone if it were about $400, i really miss typing on an actual physical key board. I wish Samsung would have a phone with an actual keyboard. Great video!
100% agreed!! I'd love to take this bad boy around as my second phone just for typing emails and calls, but $$$$$
This phone is $600 if Samsung released a phone with a keyboard they would charge $1,000
Samsung actually carries a keyboard you can put on a galaxy S8. Not sure about the Note8 or S9.
I'm fairly sure that the KEYone is going to be in that price range shortly.
Michael Duffy I might consider it, but it just does not holdup to a great media experience compared to the Samsung Note. I would like to support its effort though.
oh i love my blackberry keyone
Well made review, as always!
My question is about Apple Music, I have a BlackBerry PRIV and I use the app daily but last week they updated it and I wasn't able to use it because it says it's not compatible with the phone so I had to download an older version
The Silver one looks like a Graph Calculator
SenjarG beautiful calculator but it reminds me of MacBook idk why, looks like a mini version
Lol...
Thanks - good review and interesting points in the screen and camera.
You know what i miss about black berry the most? All your messages can be seen in one place.
Erica Absolutely enjoyed when you asked which Color I liked I just picked one as I liked Both. And yes right with you about being excited as I do like Blackberry always have. Awesome Video and will be waiting for follow up.Thanks so much for sharing Deb.👌💪👍
I just bought the silver one for 250$!! Can't wait to get my hands on it. ❤️
Soooo whatcha gonna do with the one you aren't going to keep. I'd like either or 😃 the silver one I'd buy for sure.
I wish they would make a phone with a landscape pull out keyboard. Willing to sell one at a discount for someone who's short on money?? The silver one if you like the black one more...
Thanks for looking into the display. I'll skip the K2 and hope for something better for the K3.
pretty looks all black, those navigation buttons on the screen are wrong, they should redesign it for Android P
I like the silver one better, but then again, I had a Passport Silver,, and I loved it very much.
Aw man, I had high hopes for that camera. Is there a way to change the capacitive buttons, like on the LG V20? I'm a big fan of having the back button on the right.
Adri_Elsker nope you can't

Silver for me. Just looks so much like the passport se.
That's the e exact reason I bought one in silver. Great phone.
Erica I just love the details you put in your videos, If MKBHD is the King of Technology Nerds, You are the Queen :) I love the way you explain about even the tiniest bit of a product!!

BlackBerry is the best tech so far. Nothing compares with you. We can sacrifice anything to keep BlackBerry afloat.
Erica sorry to say ,but i want to see full review key 2 black.. But you just stay tune on home screen, and just showing back front of mobile.
This is not the full review. I state that in the beginning. Be patient. My kind of reviews take time.
Erica, thank you for the helpful video and especially your comments about the keyboard.
I have the black and love it, waiting on my silver one.
They both look nice phones, my only concern is dust/dirt on/in the keys long term durability ?
I always know that I am going to get the truth on what you feel about a phone. I miss having a physical keyboard but I'm not sure this implements it in the way I prefer. The slide of the screen on the Priv was more to my liking, however it was spect out horribly. So in essence I'm still waiting for an updated Priv.
I would ADORE an updated PRIV! And yep, I is blunt and no one can stop me!
can you confirm the Cast function on your Key2 on TV is choppy?
Tell that to the 60 WPM on my KeyOne 😂
I know it's not for everyone, but if you're good at typing without looking, physical keys can't be beat. Great review!
60 WPM! I don't believe you.
I simply can't wait for your OPPO FIND X unboxing, Erica 😅😊
Hello Erica,
3 questions as I have a keyone and I am considering getting the keytwo.
Thank you! Jonathan
Great video as always. Thank you.
