You've had the most balanced review of this phone I've seen yet. The way I see it, smartphones are communication/productivity tools *FIRST*, and entertainment devices *SECOND*. Others see it vice-versa. As I'm in the first group and have already fallen in LOVE with my KEYone (for all the reasons you stated: battery life, security, keyboard, productivity), I'll be looking to buy the KEY2.

For the price at which it launched, unless u absolutely need the security & that physical keyboard, I cannot recommend this phone at all. even in mid 2018 there were much better phones than this one at half the price.

It is on sale at bestbuy.com for $399.
I’m probably moving back over to BlackBerry myself. Have an iPhone SE now and the virtual keyboard and I don’t agree (accuracy is bad one word each sentence needs retyped). Voice dictation is even worse, correct (typing what I actually said) 25% of the time.
I used to be able to type several (the length of a very long blog) paragraphs before my first error. I made several typing this.

I have been a BB user from day 1. Why? On my BB I don't play games, I don't watch videos, I don't listen to music. I do tons of emails, messages, etc. To me one of the great pluses is the hub where everything (mail, messages, facebook, etc.) come together in one place.
People keep talking about the size of the screen. Excuse me. When my wife brings up the virtual keyboard on her phone there is no more space than on the BB. (She doesn't use a BB because she has long nails :-).
If a somebody wants to play games, watch videos, listen to music spend countless hours looking at pictures, this isn't the phone for them. It is for people who want to get work done. Put another way, this is for people who have a life outside of their phone.

I was using an all touch phone for many years and the experience of using a PKB is something extraordinary. Even after 1.5 years of its release, the Key2 is fantastic. It may not have the greatest of processor or camera, but it does everything that a phone is supposed to do and it does it really really well. The battery lasts an eternity, the call quality is impeccable, the screen is decent when compared to others (definitely not bad or terrible) and obviously the PKB and security are the real selling points.
I don't think I'll ever be going back to a full touch phone (unless BB stops making phones)

Was using this device daily an enjoyable experience and is the camera good enough for point and shoot photography?
Is it usable for car navigation or is the screen to small for that?
Are there water resistant cases available, since it’s not a waterproof device?
Is it good enough for watching RUclips and Netflix?
Is the sound quality good enough for listening to Spotify music?
If you had to choose between the key two and iPhone 8 as a business phone with listening to music, RUclips and occasionally Netflix. What would be your choice and why?

does anyone know if the Key 3 has additional features other than the bigger screen that make it worth waiting for ? I am trying to wait but my current BB Classic is starting to really frustrate me but I love the trackpad and that you can do everything with it. the key 2 has the scroll on the keyboard but you can't press it to send, select or all the other things the old trackpad does correct ?

While Key2 was very well implemented, it is a proof how pricing is an essential strategy how to grab a marketshare: Either the pricing or distinctive features or both must be right.
Blackberry Key2 has a very well distinctive feature: PKB. But it is lacking of other features - of course in comparison to other phones in similar price range (USD 649-699) - and surely marketing budget.

My reason for getting a BB of ANY kind isn't for media and games to begin with. I am a LONG time BB user, and the last one I had before going Android (Shows you how long it was) was a Passport Silver. I will be using the Key2 as my primary comms and productivity device with my current phone being relegated to media, gaming, and a backup phone.

I would like a more detailed review about a comparison between the motion keyone and the key2 I think it would be useful to see if the difference in camera is important because of the exaggerated value that the key2 has without this having water resistance has no double speaker and no has a 4000 battery and see if it is an important factor the 660 processor of key2 or if the motion does the same with the 625 processor. I see something in the youtuber and believe me to those who read this and seen a lot but many videos and the most want to sell or push the keyone models and now the key2 as the best option and the details of these are scarce at the time of detailed talk about battery camera sound and video playback, I think it would be important to know that for my taste that the cell phone will listen well to the volume when watching videos on RUclips or Netflix and that the screen quality is acceptable is a very important point to see if the difference of a cell according to them new and s best option without being in an acceptable competition for an incredibly high price, greetings.

They apparently were able to access android and apple phones easily with special software/tech they have, but they failed to gain access to his phone - It wiped after 10 failed attempts, and he could easily restore it after he got it back LOL Worth considering for that alone. Disagree with most of the negative comments and haven't found these critiques to be valid.

How many times you'll need to review that thing. *Cnet and others your reviews a irrelevant* ;blackberry keeps praising its self as a brand that offers security, *we want a review that clearly distingushies black berry security from other brands* we want an in depth review of the keyones security

It's an Android device with a keyboard. Wow! Who would have ever thought? I use BlackBerry devices only. If I'm not using something secured by BlackBerry, it's Kali Linux or Tails.
Just by not using a BlackBerry secured device, you're most likely being hacked RIGHT NOW! You'll never know though, until your credit card starts making a bunch of overseas purchases.
LMAO! Won't happen to me because I chose an Android device built by BlackBerry that has the best keyboard I've ever used.
