I always say that when a married man "hits on you" it is NOT flattering, a compliment, or anything positive. Because what he is really saying to you is, "I can only offer you a piece of me and I think you are (broken, weak, damaged.....etc) enough to accept it."

As you said, that’s just confusion and the God we serve does not operate in confusion. Praying that Danai is blessed with a Godly man that is worthy of her heart 💕

Another amazing episode! So much of Danai’s story resonated with me. When you have followed all of the rules, had pure intentions, consulted God, checked off all of the boxes and you still get hurt!!!! It’s devastating. I’m still learning how to guard my heart without shutting potential partners down completely. It’s so hard to trust out here in these dating streets because everyone does not have the same heart as you, everyone’s intentions are not pure. Thank u Danai. I feel u.

I think this was a great reminder that it's important to pay attention to what's actually happening versus the prophecy you may believe is falling on alignment with what "God is telling you". Sometimes we(women) can feel or think we feel something and it's really not God's will no matter how good our discernment might be. I really appreciate the transparency because we get hurt or put in harm's way even when we're trying to do right as she mentioned. People are human and will make mistakes, but guarding our hearts will prevent so much heartache. ♥️

The main take away I am getting from this and I really hope everyone get it too is this. Guard your heart. Going back to the title of this episode. Guard it! Let's dig a little deeper about the heart. Really understand where you are. If you're vulnerable, desperate, horny...etc. Those are the issues you will be dealing with. We always connect guarding your heart with external things. Never the things with in us. This is where the issues dwell. "The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?" Jeremiah 17:9

  • @KayAlexandria283

This episode took a turn I did not expect! I thought this was going to be the typical “Guard your heart cuz folks out here are playing games and you don’t wanna get got”, but to address this in the scenario of being in love with someone who is in love with you but is unavailable/unhealthy is SO important! I thank you SO much for your transparency! This is exactly what I needed because I went through something highly similar with someone who just became my ex, so many nuggets and while I will always appreciate and cherish the fact that we were in love, it also is a testament to show that you can’t just be in love, you have to be healthy and whole enough to make good despite and stand on them. Without that, love will not last-it cannot last. Being in love doesn’t mean you’re with someone who will know how to be a healthy partner for the long haul. I had to learn that guarding your heart also means not allowing your feelings to get in the way of doing what’s right by others and yourself. Thank you Danai! ♥️

Much respect for the openness & transparency your guest Danai shared as there is always value in a person's experiences. The wisdom is always found in the lesson. "Give what you are hoping to receive", great message & that takes faith. I pray your guest finds the one God has equally yoked for her as she walks in her purpose. The letter was poetic & so well versed. May you both find the desires of your heart. Another great podcast. It was so important you mentioned what is the woman's role in partaking in an affair, as the accountability is on both parties. Well said. I did everything you told me to, I was a great wife to this man that I could never understand why he wouldn’t trust me! I worked extra hard to make sure he never had a reason to question me and this is what I get? “ The lord gently said to me, “what does not believing in Me look like? Where are you going to go?” I could genuinely imagine Him giggling at me while I had my tantrum 😂😂. No matter what happens in life, it has no meaning without God. The men I have spoken with since then have disagreed and even Laterras - if you watch what he said after - disagreed.] I am referring to your comment “a man isn’t going to be in love with you and marry another woman.” MEN ACTUALLY DO THIS. 🤓 The reality is, we want things to be “clean cut” and “simple” and trust I wanted that too, but things are not always that simple. When we are being honest … Also I am not saying this was my case I am talking about the principal [and it doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with money - as your comment implied. ] Anyway,I thank you for your comment.

Genuinely, I think all this information should be collated from every episode starting at season one and put into a book or something. Imagine these principles being taught in schools or parents using them to guide their children. There's a lot of wealth here. Praise God and thank you for letting Him use you as His vessels.

the part i really loved and respected was wen she said that when she saw that text, everything in her wanted to go, but she did not...Ladies just because our bodies and hearts want something does not mean that we have to go after it. stay strong. Think about the wife, especially when you know that you want to be 'the wife' to someone else and you would want that side chick to respect your existence and stay away from your man!!!

Guard your Heart!! We as women love hard and it’s our nature to give so it’s really upsetting that some of us have had to be heart broken to Guard our Hearts! I was in a situation where I allowed a man in my life that was legally separated and awaiting to be divorced and I trusted him that he was going to following through with his situation well after giving my heart and really letting my guard down divorce didn’t happened!! So now I will guard my heart and pray that I don’t miss out of a blessing from guarding my heart!! Thank you both for this episode i really love gaining all the knowledge on these platforms

That almost happened to me! He lied and said he was divorced, but my spirit couldn't rest so I straight up asked him, "Are you still married?" and then he broke down and said he was just separated. I talked to him for a month after that after initially reading him the riot act and ignoring him for a week, but I just couldn't trust him. I had to cut him off.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I feel this woman on so many levels. She is telling MY story! Our stories are quite similar in the fact that I fell in love with a man (who I felt was my best friend) years prior to him getting engaged to someone else, in which I found out through my girl best friend. I completely understand the thoughts, feelings and emotions that she expresses in her testimony. It has been such a relief and validation to me to know that in my experience in the 3 1/2-4 years this situation unfolded, I felt the validation in that I wasn’t crazy after all!! Also like her I wasn’t very vocal at all about my true feelings about him in attempts to guard my heart. I’ll be honest and say I was terrified to tell him but I finally did at the time he was in a relationship with this woman (prior to his engagement). Since then there have been countless “kismet” scenarios , such as unplanned color coordination etc., between he and I that I’ve paid close attention to and am sure he probably hasn’t noticed. He’s no longer engaged and at this time I’ve decided to wait for the man God has ordained for me. I could go on and on… its just crazy… my mind is completely blown!

But in our culture you know what we go through till we walk down the aisle.. I called it BS and it took me to recently relocate to another continent for him to get the hint that i am not ineterested in being a side piece. She's so vulnerable and that takes a lot of strength she's so real and authentic not to mention amazingly gracious. Most people told me in that scenario to Follow my heart, but when I went to church that Sunday during the pastors sermon he actually talked about Sometimes you can't follow your heart, and this is when I knew to walk away.

Best advice ever! When you find out they're married... RUN!!!! The hardest thing to get over is when you fall in love and then find out they're married etc. And you have to just turn off your heart. The most vulnerable and deepest hurt to get over.... and the man is never held accountable... the finger is always pointed at the woman just like in the bible where they came for the woman who was "caught in the act" even though it takes two to tango! Where are your accusers? He who is without sin cast the first stone. - Thank you so much for sharing your story. Thank you!

    This was good!
I think so many women can learn and pull from the gems 💎 she dropped.
We say, “hurt people hurt people”
But I think broken people break people.
I use to feel that I “love hard” and one lesson God gave me from that (after heartbreak 💔 of course)
Was that often we are too busy loving people harder than we love Him.
That’s the disconnect because He wants to be our FIRST love, not our only love but our first meaning we don’t love nothing or nobody greater than we love Him.

Danai gave a good interview. I empathize because I've been there. I've felt like God owed me a husband which was arrogance because He already gave His Son. I felt her pain in wanting to be a mother. I'm glad she didn't give in. I've been there wanting someone so bad when they awaken that desire, you think you hear God that this man is the one. I agree with Danai that he led her on before he got married. No man who is into to you would act like she's bothering him. It should have been over then when she picked up on the weird vibes. For me that is a major subtle red flag that women over look. I'm sure he had 2 women at the same time. I would describe this man differently. Number 1: He appeared to have checked these boxes but he ghosted her which made him a liar and a coward. 2. He got married and emotionally cheated with her which makes him cruel to know how he treated her but still had the nerve to manipulate her feelings in her weakness. My opinion, he never loved her because my personal opinion, a man does not let a good woman go. He does not know what love is. This "man" didn't know what masculine and feminine energy was. I disagree that he had favor and influence. He just love bombed her with crumbs because he knew her feelings. He was merely a charming manipulator. He "claimed" he didn't know the difference between masculinity and femininity. That's because he didn't want to know. Him knowing would hold him accountable. He may have had status and money but he was a weak broken feminine man. At the end of the day, Scripture says God is not the author of confusion and he brought so much confusion and chaos. We have to know our value and self worth enough when a man is out of order like this guy was, his drunken or sober compliments are insults and he does not deserve call my personal phone at disrespectful hours or any hour to talk about anything. I'm so glad she didn't give in to him. He tried it but she came out, thank God.

Great Interview. Thank you Laterras! Danai is on point. Everything she spoke at the end is THE TRUTH. I sadly was involved with a married man and it was very bad. Everything she said was correct. 1- Getting myself out was one of the hardest things I have ever done. 2- I had to get the help of a therapist. 3- While I was walking away it was one step forward, 2 steps back, but eventually I was able to walk all the way out. Getting involved with people who are in a relationship, much less married, is such a waste of time. I thank God that he helped me break free from those curses and change my life. Please don`t sell yourself for less than you are worth by being with someone who is in a relationship.
