Love the size of their mini driver. And it has a fw adapter instead of a driver adapter. I owned the Aeroburner mini driver 12* And that was a beast. My club builder guy has already ordered a GT280 head for fitting.
Happy new year ! One thing is for sure Titleist makes good products. Wonder if anyone on pro tours would put 2 drivers in the bag including this one? As for most people I think a 460 head is still most beneficial but maybe for good strikers who play on tighter, shorter courses, they could benefit.
Manufactures can't do a lot more with drivers, can't do a lot more with irons so lets try and create a market for the old 2 wood and call it a Mini driver (worked very well for Taylormade and not so much Callaway} make a low number and call them limited to get sales. Then lets do something about putters L.A.B have made a game changer (certainly got all the headlines) so lets try and have a bit of that. Next year the big push could well be graphite shafts or multi material shafts for irons but need high profile wins by someone playing them, Ryder cup player? Wins make sales it's business.
Golf manufacturers are the 2nd best salesmen of all time only beaten by the number 1 salesmen of all time, Liqueur sales! I remember Lee Trevino saying one time he could putt with a broom and still win golf tournaments around the world.
The successful Titleist 975 driver from 25 years ago was only 260cc. I can hit mine as long as I can with any of my more modern large volume drivers, just not quite as easy to control the ball flight with the older Titleist. If they have packed the new 280 mini driver with technology that gives added distance and control it will sell. Giant heads aren’t really necessary, well, except on giants I guess.
It seems like several years ago a 13 degree driver would be meant for a bad golfer who can't find a fairway with a 10.5 degree. Now, a 13 degree mini driver seems to be an indispensable tool needed by everyone who golfs. Long ago it was a 2 wood.
History repeats itself. I think everyone is starting to realise the power that 13 degree club has in general. We’ve been taught for so long that your goal in life is thwack a driver at all opportunities, pretty much since the days of Daly and Tiger. Before that, people took a far more measured approach to their game. The 2 wood was always the staple of any old bag. I personally love to game my Sonartec NP99 13 and 17 degree 2 and 4 woods. I only ever get my driver out for par 5s. Driving par 4s is for pros and hacks.
i've had a mini driver since the TM Original One. Don't have or need a "big' one. My swing speed is 85mph at 67 years old. My distance is not that much less than the "big' boys and I stay on the fairway.
*None expected this…big move and an interesting time from Titleist*

Happy New Year!
I love it.. best looking Mini driver imo
Interesting! Will Ping bring one out next?
Possibly! That is a great question
Does this fit on the driver or fairway wood adapter?
Fairway adapter.

Still game my 16 degree SLDR mini but this may get a test run
It was inevitable, got to keep up with the Jone’s. Ping will release one soon .
How is it a secret exactly?
You can’t buy the tsr one
Crazy expensive.
Needs an adapter that can alter the lost 2-3 degrees.

Not off the turf
Most people don't have the swing speed for these mini drivers
Have you tried them?

They need to release a true replacement for the TSR2. The GT2 has way too low of spin.
Took until half the video to see the new one
