This reminds me of a Gongcha bubble tea I drank a few days ago. It was a flat peach jewelry milk tea. I loved the pearls. Unlike the first and worst boba tea(which was cookie and cream) I had, it was softly sweet and chewy. Fruity drinks are always safe to choose, IMO.

      Just in case
If it was matcha, then that shop either used a low-quality one, over-brewed it or used Chinese matcha. Matcha can be divided into two types based on origins, China and Japan. Chinese one tends to be more bitter and cheaper. Japanese matcha is a way sweeter if brewed correctly, but more expensive.

I actually just had my first bubble tea a few days ago. I tagged along with my brother to get a few things and asked if he’d want to try some since we were just doing whatever to kill time. He had some before(at a different place) and recommended full sweetness less ice. We decided to both get almond milk bubble tea with tapioca pearls. Wasn’t bad, I’d definitely try again just different flavour since I don’t get almond much so I had trouble finishing it off (Large size).

Tried it. I have a hard time appreciating it.
The fruity ones were insanely sweet. Zero taste of tea.
The classic mostly tasted sweet milk. No tea taste. And the tapioca pearls were just chewy with zero taste.
I'll just stick to actual tea.

@@vonnikon The first one I had tasted of tea... and it was a nice tea. It's weird drinking it cold though. Important not to have much sugar or ice which dilutes the beverage and thereby reduces the flavour. As I say not a fan. Each to their own...
