- Blackadder is shown what the future would be like if he were a bad person. It turns out to be quite an enticement!
This is a channel from BBC Studios who help fund new BBC programmes. Service information and feedback: www.bbcstudios...
You cannot convince me this isn't actually a canonical 40K moment.
There's actually a Blackadder 40K story out there; I think it was a 4chan Green text story.
@@cnlbenmc I must find it.
read the Commissar Cain books, its literally blackadder in 40k, with some Dads army thrown in
💯☝️
Yeah it's just Ciaphas haha
"So if I was *bad*, my descendants would rule the entire universe!" Brilliant line.
+Mikey Clarke "Maybe. Maybe. But would you be happy? Being ruler of the universe isn't all it's cracked up to be. There's the long hours, having to wave at people the whole time. You're no longer your own boss!"
I'm sure I could live with it!!
The clip stopped before the Ghost of Christmas Future (the wonderful Robbie Coltrane) showed what would happen.....
More nuggets from the rich seam of gold from the 80s sitcoms. "We shall never see its like again" as the race to the bottom is too far gone now.
Tony Robinson is such a great comedian. Never afraid to humiliate himself.
Well wait till you see the "if blackadder was good" future scenario
It's more than that. He's keenly intelligent but not from some posh background like Fry, Laurie, Atkinson, all the Pythons and others which made him the perfect host for Time Team which brought archeology to the masses, lasted for 15 seasons, and inspired similar programs in other countries.
Tony Robinson is such a great comedian. Never afraid to humiliate himself?
Great then, it's settled, he'll run for PM next election to replace that BJ guy...
No you commies will weep bitter tears. You lost because you are wrong and you will live with it.
What are you talking about? He used costume budget to buy something he can wear in his leisure time.
I love this version of a Christmas Carol where being good just means people walk all over you whereas being bad will get you the world.
Except for the last scene lol
That tends to be true to life
@@SamuelBlack84 And where's your world mr edgelord?
The fact that Baldrick consciously chose to wear the jockstrap XD
"From a place where the stars begin and end, I bring you...This!"
"Oh lovely, an ashtray."
Now there’s a joke that didn’t age. Turns out we will not have ashtrays in the future.
"For Gods sake Baldrick, if you're gonna wear that ridiculous jock-strap. At least keep your legs together" best line in the scene.
I love how it implies that Baldrick isn't forced to wear that outfit as a slave, it's a conscious decision. Somehow that makes it even funnier.
Baldrick's hilarious entrance, fanfare and pose is worth watching dozens of times. Not that the numbers matter, because you will never unsee it.
He's so dynamic, comfortable and sure of himself
the future looks like a classic doctor who episode.
+sunnysurfer101MA
Lord Commander Blackadder looks like he just walked out of Battlefleet Gothic in Warhammer 40k.
Blackadder Series 5 perhaps?
SinDawg030 and baldrick could be a choas worshiper :p
Solidus327 Clearly affiliated with Nurgle and Slaanesh.
Lord Commander Blackadder reminds me of Travis from Blake's 7.
“Approach Grand Admiral of the Dark Segment and Lord of the High Slung Bottoms of Zob”

I swear that's a euphemism of some sort.

RIP Robbie Coltrane. Have fun haunting the wicked at Christmas
This is how the Star Wars prequels should have looked.

@Rick O'Shay Yes.
@Rick O'Shay a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel?
Baron Julius von Brunk 1:13 totally
amen.
Oh this scene is probably why JK Rowling always wanted Robbie Coltraine to play Hagrid, she knew he'd be the perfect fit.

Hugh Laurie's American accent has improved a lot over the years.
Not really. 🤣
You watch too much "House M.D."
This could be mistaken for the Blackadder Warhammer 40k premiere, but actually its the scene from Tha Blackadder Christmas Special that takes Dicken's Christmas Carol and knees it in the soft sentimental bits.
😂😂😂
I never knew I wanted a Blackadder 40k tv series until you just mentioned it.
@@stainlesssteelfox1 CI-CI-CIAPHAS CAIN! HERO OF THE IMPERIUM!!
@@redstonecasey4713 I could definitely see a 40k Blackadder series being just this. Blackadder as a Ciphas Cain equivalent, with Baldrik his Ferik Jurgen.
Like Cain, he's primarily interested in saving his own skin, but somejhow ends up accidentally saving the day and adding to his legend.
In the grim dark future of the 41st millenium, there is only a cynical git and his disorderly regiment.
The Sheep Squeezers of Splaticon five shall rise again!
Meeeeehh!
Baaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Descendants of the Welsh.
"And the Sheep-squeezers of Splatican 5, have they been suck-creamed as a Kvarnbeast's Nubol?"
Absolutely brilliant!
64andyjh Did you vanquish the nibble pibbeles
"Well, they're dead if that's what you're asking."
No, my lord Pigmott, I did not vanquish the nibble pibbiles because you just made them up!

Is he talking about a future version of the Welsh?
RIP Robbie
Hottest Miranda Richardson incarnation in Blackadder
And that's saying something since her vacuously homicidal Elizabeth was always strangely alluring to me.
She's a damn sexy woman.
@@No-hf5xb ... Well *that's* a ringing endorsement if I ever heard one.
That's classic Dr. Who Sci fi: kinda cheap made, well acted, plausible enough = awesome!
“You’re no longer your own boss”
10/10
Well that sucks - they leave out the BEST line! "Bad guys have all the FUN!"
No i did not ‘vanquish the nibble pibblies’ because you just made them up. Sounds like an examiner reading one of my essays
this part of the episode really needed its own spinoff series. im not being sarcastic. it would be excellent and hilarious
It almost *was* a spin-off series. There were plans for a series called "Star Adder" set in the future, but I don't think they had the budget for it, so they reused the best jokes for this segment.
When Baldrick came out - my eyes! my eyes!
Neat thing about this one: you can hear Hugh Laurie doing an American accent, sounding nothing like House.
One of the best of this awesome, smart and hilarious show! I like the funny design of their outfits, especially Baldrick's, which reminds me a mix between Conan the Barbarian and Mad Max, and Blackadder's, a classic space-general-pirate type like Albator. The music suits perfectly and the design seems to be taken from a mix between W40k and Battlestar Gallactica. I would like a whole season of futurisitic Blackadder adventures! ;)
Miranda looked fantastic, as always.
Robbie Coltrane: the funniest larger unit of his time ?
Rest with mirth 🎉
How do they do this dialogue without getting completely hysterical? :)
@Rick O'Shay it that were true, we wouldn't still be watching the show, would we?
Atkinson himself said he isn't a particularly expressive laugher anyway. Also: trained actors.
I was wonderiing that myself. How did Stephen Fry keep a straight face saying these lines?
Multiple takes.
Love the music when Baldrick appears. . . Its just hilarious.
This makes me wish the BBC did their own adaptation of Dune
idk why but the term "supreme command of the universe" cracks me up every time
Dialogue straight-up parodying Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
XD Blackadder is so done with their nonsense
I liked it when the roles were reversed...
Frondo: And What news of the foul Marmadons?
Baldrick: Good news!
Queen Asphyxia XIX : Excellent!
Baldrick: For the Marmadons...
Any idea where that video is? Or one with the whole thing, where the ghost comes in and shows him both futures?
@@stephenphillip5656 I know which video it is, but I can't find a complete one. Only pieces of it on RUclips.
Now I want to see Rowan Atkinson and Tony Robinson get back together and parody Blake's 7 as Avon and Villa. Perhaps a one off where we learn how the characters didn't die.
Also, the Two Ronnoids? Gotta love it. Does this mean the robot Ronnie Corbett from that one Christmas special gets work in the future?
Blackadder in the grim dark future of the 41st Millennium is basically Lord Admiral answering to the High Lords of Terra
class 101%pure comedic class.these guys have it in spades!!
‘Did you vanquish the Nibble Pibblies?’
No my Lord Pigmot, I did not vanquish the nibble pibblies ,because you just made them up!
Wow, so Blackadder became the ruler of the all known universe!
"Sensible policies for a happier Britain!"
RIP Patsy Byrne.

Simon Swain Being Nursie to the angels now…
Hagrid... What are you doing so far away from Hogwarts?
Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore I always thought that Hagrid would be a good Ghost of Christmas Present😄😄😄😄.
I believe Robbie Coltrane playing this character inspired Hagrid, after all Coltrane was Rowling's choice to act the role
Looks like something out of Warhammer 40,000 !
Wade Wilson disgusting Eldar

Well, I think we’ve discovered the true identity of the God-Emperor of Mankind
I love the epic future remix of the blackadder theme.
RIP Robbie Coltrane 😥
Tony Robinson should have knighted for Baldrick's entrance alone.
Just heard about Robbie Coltrane today. Of course he was Hagrid and he was wonderful but this is the role I first thought of and how funny he was. 😢🥲
Funny that Now since he embraced his Evil side, his Decedents are on track to being ruler of everything. It’s a nice call back to how Blackadder first started, and in season 4 it supposedly ends his bloodline in WW1.
However in another special we see a version of Blackadder who invented time travel. So even though he dies in the 4th season, this scenario is still possible and he indeed fulfilled his destiny. He became the ruler of everything.
He dies at the end of series 2 as well. Nothing can stop that bloodline

Well, the primary actors are dead, so.....do don't hold your breath unless you want to see this series in Heaven.
In this PC SJW lunacy world? Good luck with that.
@@howtubeable No they're not. Rowan Atkinson, Tony Robinson, Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie are all very much alive. As are Miranda Richardson and Tim McInnerny. The only person in this that died is Patsy Byrne who played Nursey.
Baldrick, love the outfit.
It's fantastic that Nanny is in some sort of life support cask.
triple husbandoids !!!!
A friend of mine had a triple husbandoid for a while...
Baldrick’s serious expression is hilarious
I want Grand Admiral Blackadder's uniform so badly.
(Ebenezer Blackadder has been shown by the Ghost of christmas past, present and future what the future holds if he were to turn bad like his predecessors and what the future holds if he stays good)
Blackadder: So one way, it is joy and glory ever lasting for me, where as on the other, it is me walking around completely naked except for one pair of cowboy boots as well as Baldricks posing pouch.
Me: Exactly, Blackadder, It is called "Moderation". You don't have to be nice to everyone in the world, just as you don't have to be nasty to everyone in the world. You just have to be able to know from the genuinely good people to the users, the black-mailers and the sponges and be able to separate the two from each other.
Mr. Bean Dark Lord of the Sith.
Baldrick in a jockstrap caught me off guard when I first saw this episode
I was waiting for Lord Doomcock to appear.
Hugh Laurie's American accent definitely got better over time.
An excellent special.
it's "Doctor Who the Hell Thought it was a Good Idea to put Baldrick in THAT?"
Idk why but I really like the look of the helmet even though it's probably made out of some kitchen utensils and some stuff they found in a draw.
Lord Inquisitor Blackadder
This is what I imagine most D&D Players envision their level 20 "Chaotic Neutral" characters getting up to after the campaign ends...
18 people were sent to the sprouting chamber.
Their sense of humor must have been suckcreamed as a Qvarnbeast's nobbo by the Nibblepibblies.
I just so love the futuristic remix of the theme, wish there would be a full version xD
You've wibbled my frusit pouch
can't believe they got Rowan Atkinson, Tony Robinson, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie and Robbie Coltrane to do this
I really want a full version of the future Blackadder music.(How on earth did Blackadder manage to keep his last name for like 1000 years).
1:45 " hahaha excellent commander. You have most pleasantly wibbled my frosset pouch" 🤣🤣🤣
The rotating loop in the background in the future sometimes looks like the Meta logo (which is the company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp) at different angles
That ouroboros hologram behind the Queen and husbandoid is the same symbol as used as the logo for the new Zuckerberg digital reality thing called Metaverse. That aside I've loved Blackadder's Christmas Carol since it first came out!
Hugh Laurie learned an American accent just for this role, and it paid off big time later.
This is hilarious. Mr. BEAN and Hagrid is too much
My hexinoid wife loves this episode which includes all the major actors that starred in the Black Adder Series!!! Me too!!!
They are/were talking about making a 5th series of Blackadder. It was supposedly set in the 60/70's... I'd MUCh rather see Blackadder set in the year 3000. Maybe on a star ship. Maybe right hand man to the emperor of the Galaxy. I could see doing it in a type of allegory of modern day society. Maybe even calling the Emporer of the Galaxy Dazril Camron (David Cameron). An Emperor that's had to join an Alliance with his enemy just to keep full control over the Galaxy? Blackadder could be the one pulling the strings of both of the leaders, with hopes and dreams of oneday overthrowing his oppressors. Baldric be a hbrid of a human and a creature from the small Planet Turnisiup. A small planet that is inhabited by a small race of troll like creatures.
I like it, but personally I think it would be interesting if it was that Blackadder was a four constellation space general in the army of the ironically named Benevolent Lord Emperor What's His Face, after decades (longer future lifespans) of disrespect from the royal space family Blackadder becomes a spy for the Emperor's brother the equally inappropriately named Tyrannical High Caesar What's His Name. Basically the series ends with Blackadder triple crossing Caesar What's His Name by leading his resistance into a trap and then poisoning Emperor What's His Face claiming his throne pardoning the resistance marrying the Caesar's daughter the ironically named Bratty Space Princess Britney and marries the Emperor's daughter the inappropriately named Fair Space Princess Penelope off to Baldrik
Baldrick as the ship computer, like Slave or Orac or Zen in Blake's 7. Hugh as Blake, Blackadder as the Avon character. And Miranda as Servalan! Even Fry as Travis. Does anybody even remember that series anymore. It was camp. It was funny. It was totally, utterly brilliant. Oh the eighties!
It would be too much like Red Dwarf.
They could make fun of science fiction clichés and still refer to Earth history here and there like they do in Futurama.
The aliens are Doctor House, Rita Skeeter, Charles Kingston and Nursie 😂
The problem is that all the cultural jokes and historical references which made the previous 4 series so memorable wouldn't work in a future setting. Example: In the third season Blackadder reads the papers and says:"They found yet another use for the potato, next thing we know they will be eating it!". Blackadders witty cynicism when talking about the "brilliant strategy" of Douglas Haig in WWI is comedy gold.
I think that's kinda what they're self-parodying in the future segments as well as various sci-fi cliches by just making up random ridiculous words.
Baldrick's posing pouch!
"Have they been succreamed as a kvaambeast's nubbo?"
This most pleasantly whipples my Frusset Pouch
Slave Baldrick... xD God damn the funniest thing ever :D
Classic Christmas TV :)

Is that (Stephen) Fry and (Hugh) Laurie there alongside the Queen?
welcome to Blackadder
Yup!
In the grim darkness of the far future...
They should make a series out of that, it should be called ''Blackadder Beyond Five''
At first I thought it's a Venom video upon seeing the picture. Baldrick definately made me thinking of Cronos.

For God's sake, if you're going to wear that ridiculous leather speedo, at least keep your legs together! ;)
