Congrats Mister Dave Angel . This mix make me dream when i first time j heard in mid 90 s ... and stil got the same vibe today . What a masterpiece work . Many tanks for your creativity , your unique mixing style selections , transitions and class !!! Im 51 and i need regress to decks as a Dj , only music understand me .... My best regards from Portugal
The Man, The Legend !! A Titan of the industry. One of those names so many knew. Great mix, one of many!! Your tracks are also unique & sublime... top quality sounds. Original Man, Endless Motions & the whole of the Royal Techno EP are legendary in clubland. Your remix of F2's Dominica is also excellent. The list goes on.. Timeless tracks, they all sound good today. You gave special moments to so many people.
had this mix as a promo tape to review it. The mixtape hasn't left the car for years. CD, VHS & vinyl are also on the shelf here. To this day, one of my absolute favorite mixes since DJ mixes were invented.
Perhaps in our time this music may seem naive, but you know what I'll tell you - I feel here the complete freedom of creativity. there are no rigid frames and restrictions, every second of this mix is filled with infinite freedom of action, if you understand what I mean, and that's great
Glad to find others who were obsessed with this. I found it in 1997 at Antique Botique in Manhattan (quirky clothing store that had a small music section). I guess this sounded like it would play in the background of a fashion show so they sold it there:-)
Probably the most complete mix in the x-mix series. Eclectic but dancefloor friendly as well. A fantastic representation of the underground music available in the mid 90s.
Die Cd hab ich mir damals in den 90ern gekauft, weil sie im Coffee Shop "Physical" rauf und runter lief. Ich kiffe nicht mehr, aber höre die Musik immer noch 😍
its cool hearing this again, since i forgot how all the tracks sounded, cause mine was stolen in a burglary back in 1998 when living with my parents, along with 60+ other awesome cds, some i don't remember what they were?, another was spacetime continuum - remit recaps, and some good drum n bass compilations, some instinct ambient compilations, and a few other X-MIX cd's, like Laurent Garnier, Dave Clark, Ken Ishii and i think Kevin Saunderson, Deep Space Network live - "traffic", sasha & digweed northern exposure 2-cd mix and some other ones, etc...., plus they took a vintage Pentax camera, my electric guitar & amp, they just smashed my Roland MC-303 groovebox instead of taking it, and they took my Cerwin Vega home stereo 10" sub speakers, sony reciever and maganavox cd changer, plus my parents electronics throughout the house as well, but what really sucked is that i knew who did it, it was a guy who worked with me at the grocery store at the time, and i used to give him rides and stuff, he was 18 and i was 25, and i was nice to him, but for some reason he just turned on me, and he knew my parents were out of town at the time and that i was at work as the only checker from 10pm-2am shift, either he did it cause he was jealous of my stuff (which i worked for and paid for myself), or just cause he is an asshole and criminal by nature ?, it came back to him, cause i heard from someone later that he was busted doing a different burglary and was in jail, so that made me feel good at least. none of the stuff was recovered, but i got $1200 in insurance money, which i spent towards a new Roland MC-505 groovebox, which i used alot and got really good at using, but in the end, unfortunately i lost the MC-505 in the pawn shop, just cause i lost track of what the due date was to make a payment, i was planning on getting it back out and was'nt going to lose it in pawn for sure (i thought), but thats why its not such a good idea to even use pawn shops in the first place. (sorry for ranting so long, i'm up late drinking wine listening to music, but felt good getting it off my chest, lol)
www.discogs.com/Dave-Angel-X-Mix-4-Beyond-The-Heavens/master/29793 Available from here if you wish to buy it. Pretty cheap, too. (I am not one of the sellers.)
I got my car broke into in 1995 and the cunts nicked all my cassettes as well as the stereo... they need their hands smashing to pieces with a claw hammer, proper deterrent instead of 'community service'
haha good for you mate, getting it off your chest! I had an MC-505 for a while, I bought it off some guy in the US and had to get an adapter from Maplin to power it. I loved the sounds, it was proper, but really difficult to program. I lent it to my mate who has an autistic kid and the kid loved it, had it for a few years, when I got it back it was f**ked! And I was moving house and left it in a bag in the footwell of my car and some twat smashed the window and took it - probably didn't even know what it was - so that was that. But to be honest I didn't use the 505 very much, so.... and you can get so much out of a PC/laptop if you know how.
Pretty screwed up, and grabbed a pawn shop mixer, looked at the door. Guy behind counter looked like he gave me the ok. Out the door I went. Never got turntables for it. Maybe the nice man would knod me delivery.
if ever anyone should have proper feelings to listen to music feels near to entire harmony.... ...still unreached. timeless point in history of (modern) electronic music!
I remember positioning my 2 seater chair , putting on my special glasses from my ruclips.net/video/6xRXV1xHZ8M/видео.html music video and losing it.This mix even now is just as good. Love this producer!
@tmartin2997 i will shut up but only because your answer was pretty dumb. why do i have to be a world class dj to have an opinion about mixing skills ?
Time flies.... almost 30 years since I mixed this compilation and I still cherish it to this day x
BEST MIX EVER ❤️❤️❤️
BLESS YOU
Love that you cherish it still...it's a special mix fosho

Dave Angel sets always hit home the right way, and this is no exception. This era of techno planted the seeds of much of what is big now…
Perhaps in our time this music may seem naive, but you know what I'll tell you - I feel here the complete freedom of creativity. there are no rigid frames and restrictions, every second of this mix is filled with infinite freedom of action, if you understand what I mean, and that's great
God bless house music.
"naive"? The fuck you on about you pretentious tit 😂
Totally agree, it's not naive, it's raw

X-Mix was one of the best series for electronic music!!! It had a big impact on me. I love it!!! 🙏
I think x-mix series is like the 10 amendments for electronic dance music.

20 years ago I did not notice, the music is still great, but man , the mixing skills suck
If you have to mix the tracks of the tracklist with the original vinyl you will take back your comment. It's not that easy as it seems.
@@voluptaslaborandi no definately not ! i will take take it on, i grew up with vinyl
@@ROANFAM I also grew up with vinyl and I mixed a lot of these tracks but it is much more difficult a it seems.
You are not a world class DJ in techno so keep it shut
