@@NutSaxs have you ever seen actual fencing duels? rapiers rely on stabbing and thrusting which can be done with a single hand but putting your weight and balance into it. also a big and sturdy enough needle poking through someones guts is still very much deadly.

Jetstream Sam's theme triggers me every single time it Playstation, because it was my alarm clock's sound when I first started living alone and was scared to sleep past time to go to college.
The scene is even set up like a final boss fight, with the ring of flame blocking Puss's escape. This scene, if not the whole movie, would make an excellent video game.
An cool coincidence: Death's voice actor is Brazilian (Wagner Moura) and Jetstream Sam, a.k.a. Samuel Rodrigues (the character) is Brazilian. So yeah, another reason why "The Only Thing I Know for Real" goes perfectly with that scene.
Let's be honest, the poetic meaning of this fight is one hell of a motivational speech without many words, "fighting for a life that's worth living for, even if that means fighting death itself." Makes me remember why i keep fighting for better days in mine as well.
Thematically..... death is meant to be the arch nemesis of puss, his opposite that at one point managed to beat him and shake his confidence in his prowess. And throughout the story death would chase and taunt him, until the time finally came when they would face again
Everything about this edit is so powerful. The music fading out when Puss loses his sword, the way it explodes back in when he draws his Gatito blade, and the way it ends at the perfect time? So glad I can comment on this now
So there is like six videos that do this with sams music and I keep coming back to this one. It is the best one for me. This one has the music starting with his whistle as he comes through the star barrier, which is epic. And it keeps much more of the dialogue with the exception of at the end of the fight, when he tells him, he was looking for a legend I can’t find it, which I think is fine that I would’ve like to have the entire part where he’s kicking himself for playing with his food while keeping the part about looking for a legend out. And the other part that is great is when Puss loses his sword the music cuts out. I only saw one other than that and it’s awesome. I also believe this one has the best timing for music interactions with things in the background, and when the clashes happen. OK I’m done gushing. I just wanted to say that I love this one and I probably watch it at least once a week because I love this song and I love this movie.

Fun Fact : Puss fighting style when he pulls out the Dagger was a "La Verdadera Destreza" which is Spanish Fencing style with the combination of the Rapier & Dager and its prove to be one of a Deadly combination.
