They look like they were originally painted white and really need to be repainted because the paint is peeling off them. They looked brand new before she got her hands on them.
I'm sure you already know this, but yes, they would be gorgeous as stepping stones, however, let's not forget to put the barbs in or the really heavy duty thick chicken wire into the cement for stepping stones so they don't break. :)
Agree with others, the pots looked better before the 'makeover'. I did like the rolling base for flower pots, but I chuckled a bit when I saw the recycling symbol from the cookie cover. 🤭
I agree, the pots were nicer before. I do love the pot roller idea, I have a very large potted plant I bring in on cold nights, I have protected the plant since my grandsons birth ( it was a gift to his mom at the hospital from our church) he now is a senior in high-school. My wooden roller is getting a bit old.
Suggestion- instead of using spackle, try ceiling or wall spray texture. It sprays evenly, and you can adjust the texture by how you spray. It’s basically drywall mud in a texture spray can. When it dries, seal it with oil based KILZ spray primer sealer then color how ever you want! (35 yr handyman here in NCalif wine country)
I loved the rolling planter idea that is such a versatile technique that looked more like a home decor piece. Honestly so beautiful. I’m not to excited about those big pots maybe add more color without the texture. Idk not my cup of tea.
"What we want is that decorative lid." Speak for yourself! I want the cookies! Lol. 😂😉 But seriously, that plant dolly is really cool. It looked almost like a cake when the plastic was taken off.
Yeah, everyone is commenting on those pots. They did look better before, but they match her home better now. I LOVE the cement planter roller! A word of advice to the man making it: The word is *"across",* NOT *"acrost".* Thanks so much, though! Beautiful craftmanship & perfect description.
Awesome idea. Would have done the base a bit differently though by interlocking the wood (think Legos) and drilling holes in the sides; then putting dowels through them and hot gluing those in place. The dowels would have then been submerged into the concrete. I think those changes would give it additional strength and a longer lifetime.
Can’t you put petroleum jelly in the bottom of the plastic container first, and then pour the concrete so you can reuse the plastic container again and again?
It would leave it greasy looking and greasy feeling as well. Plus it would cause it to get dirty much faster because the dust/dirt would stick to the petroleum jelly.
I get the whole DIY movement, kuddos to you all and to your ingenuity. However, please do so responsibly by taking the time to set paint boxes to do your projects in so that the aerosol paint and/or chemicals you choose to use are caught within the enclosed, or shielded reinforcement area. Its not only a courtesy to your neighbors, but most importantly, keeping our environment in mind. Thank you👍
Love, love, LOVE the DIY rolling planter!! As for the refurbished pots.. I was really nervous about her painting them any shade of white. I literally said to myself, 'why is she doing that after all the hard work she just put into them?!' BUT, they came out BEAUTIFULLY!! And look great in front of the door like that!
It would have been a good idea to use a sander and buff the shine off of them so the Dry Dex had something to adhere to. Then apply your spackle. Turned out pretty good. they compliment the wall behind them.
Instead of 1 lid-1 plant stand…Spray the cookie lid with Pam or any other cooking spray. Concrete will pop right out, and you can use it again 😊 The pots, meh. If I wanted that look I’d find a couple trash cans and make them look like concrete pots. Then I’d sell the expensive pots.
I think the pots looked much better and expensive than the makeover. They look cheap and rough after. But if you like thats all that matters, you can always respackle them.😮
If you put a coating of washing up liquid on the inside of the cookie lid to act as a releasing agent ,you can re use the cake cover or just spray a grease /oil for non stick food on inside . To enhance the strength of the concrete use a drill set it on Hammer and place it against the wooden cross members ,this gets rid of air pockets.
Your pots are fine. Everyone has diffrent likes and dislikes. These do go good with your house. It dosn't matter what others like. As long as you like them it's great.
I really loved the rolling planter stand. Not a fan of the pot makeover. I don't think the sparkling will hold up well outdoors without being sealed really really well.
I definitely like the rolling planter stands. However, I did not like the textured pots. The wire did not help anything. I think colore without the texture would be better.
I'm not as down on the pots as some others. The dark color doesn't work for everyone. In fact, in a garden, dark browns and greens just blend in. Looking at the porch, I think the planters looking more like light plaster just works better with the space.
Why wouldn't the crafter in the first clip ask the bakery or deli at the shop if they had any used trays that were going in the garbage instead of purchasing food they didn't need?
I wish I could have had those pots before she ruined them. I would have gladly bought her something similar to destroy. Then she could have the look she was going for in front of her house and I could have those tasteful, classy-looking planters in front of mine.
I loved those gorgeous pots before they were wrecked. Now they look awful. The concrete plant tray is nice though. However, using power tools is out of my comfort zone, to make the cross and the wheels to roll the planter on. But it's a great idea.
The rolling planter was a great idea and handy to have around. But couldn't you have used saran wrap to line the inside of the cookie lid? So that you wouldn't need to cut it. It would come off easier. In case you wanted to make more. As for the 2 pots yes they looked so much better before.
@@A_Amazi Good point. I didn't think about that one. But I was thinking the texture of the saran wrap could be smoothed out by using your fingers. But that could be hard. Due to the ridges in the cookie lid. But then again it could add some flair to it. 🙂
Should’ve named this one “How to ruin beautiful glazed planters.” I kept shouting at the TV, “Don’t do it! You’re going to ruin them!” Fast forwarded to the reveal… yup. She ruined them. 🤦♀️
Lol Drydex will never stay adhered to the glossy pots 😂This is one of the laziest click bait diys I’ve seen. The plaster w just break off and I would like a follow up video of the first rain. 🎉😂
Next time just buy some pots that you like instead of ruining gorgeous glazed pots you could have sold or given away to someone else. Some DIY is not meant to be repeated.
Throw those pots out if you’re going to put plants in them. The ceramic glazing is a blocker that prevents the salts/minerals from leaving the soil. They build up instead, creating a toxic environment for plants’ roots. Alternative is to use them for decorative purposes only but the plants are in porous planters like clay.
It seems that many preferred the pots before the makeover, as did I. However, why trash her for her efforts and what she accomplished. We all don’t have the same taste, and it is her home after all, and not ours. Just a friendly reminder that a little more civility would work wonders for our society, and rude remarks accomplish nothing but anger, hurt feelings, or hate, and all 3 makes everyone feel bad. Be kind please, for the sake of humanity.
Cookies around my house don't last long enough to worry about an airtight lid. If anything I like my vintage Hull Art Little Red Riding Hood cookie jar for storing my cookies.
nice plant stand you could have just painted those beautiful pots another color with fancy finishes or simply spray texture on them its easier and uniform finish or can be customized if you want then paint
Those big pots were beautifully glazed. She made them look like a kindergarten project.
Sadly I agree .. I loved the original pots
Yes.
They look like they were originally painted white and really need to be repainted because the paint is peeling off them. They looked brand new before she got her hands on them.
I’m not even going to watch that part.
They look messy now
The pots upgrade was a huge fail! The rolling planter however was a big success!!!
My thoughts as well. I hate what she did to the pots 🤦♀️
I have to agree 100% the pots looked better before she did it
I definitely liked the pots better before she did what she did to them. Poor pots.
I think they came out nicely. Success depends on whether or not you get what you were going for.
I'm glad I'm not the only that liked the pots before the "makeover", the before look, looked more classier and expensive, actually. 😅
I love the rolling planter idea! I also love that it gives me a great excuse for having to buy more cookies!
😂
Lol..I’ll eat the cookies..probably not make this😂
The cookie lid...WOW...Impressive! 💙💙💙
Those would be gorgeous stepping stones too

Will have to eat a lot of 🍪
Would the painted pots be inclined to show signs of wear (chipping ..scrapes and so on ) after time.
Agree with others, the pots looked better before the 'makeover'. I did like the rolling base for flower pots, but I chuckled a bit when I saw the recycling symbol from the cookie cover. 🤭
Crazy how all of the details come out from the lid!
Instead of 1 lid-1 plant stand…Spray the cookie lid with Pam or any other cooking spray. Concrete will pop right out, and you can use it again 😊
I definitely liked the pots better before the makeover. Don't get me wrong, they did look good, I just prefer before.

But thanks for sharing.

That beautiful glazed finish! Sad.
IN my opinion
Maybe she wanted them to match the front porch 🤷
@@sandasturner9529 She should've matched her porch with the original pots😂

The rolling planter idea is first class!! I've got a couple of very large pots that are hard to handle. Thanks.

The ceramic pots were beautiful. Unfortunately she spent a lot of time, money and effort trying to “improve” them… but at least she’s happy with them.

Rolling stand love it. Planters not so much.
The rolling cement base is a great idea!!
Those glazed pots were lovely. I don't know why she ruined them because her end product looked amateurish next to the original glazed pots.
What happens to the pots when it rains?
Yeah, everyone is commenting on those pots. They did look better before, but they match her home better now.
