2:29 she hesitated to open the door. One of her biggest worries was the fact that she’ll make him feel lonely bc she prioritizes her work over most things, but she stopped herself from getting out of the car without giving him an answer. I find it really sweet.

It took 2 viewings to realize he was using an Animal metaphor to explain his feelings, just like she often does with Whales. He was speaking her language.
The way Jun-ho tells he loves Young-woo without actually saying "I love you" is so beautiful. And Young-woo subtly telling him that she loves him too using "Cats love their owners too" made it all the more beautiful!
As a cat person, I can perfectly relate to their analogy. I hugged my cats after watching this scene, and they kicked my stomach but I still love them even though they hurt me. I think cat owners know unrequited love perfectly well! 🤣

Kang Tae Oh did justice to his character. His acting is brilliant. We can see his happiness, sadness, pain and agony like they're our own. Lee JunHo is such an amazing character. It's like I haven't seen more sincere male character in any kdramas before.

I have been watching a lot of Korean dramas and most of their actors are good at whatever they do especially when portraying disorders and mental health issues.
Nah bc that whole cat analogy was one of the best kdrama monologues in kdrama history. let’s pause and talk about how lee junho said seeing her be brave made him become brave. And let’s talk about the fact that he basically said he loved her. The relationship we have with our pets can be like this. Like, we love them no matter what, we take care of them without expecting anything back, and all we want is for them to be our company. It doesn’t matter if a pet gives you the same amount of attention or love, because having them close is enough. And that’s exactly what he meant by the cat analogy. He wants to be with her and even if she might not love him the way he can love her, being together is enough.
but when she said “cats love their owners too” omg. She was basically saying she loved him back. And then she sprinted away and gave him the most flirty look as she ran past him while he was completely breathless and teary eyed. The absolute perfect end to the season. Love our whalecat couple!!!!
You bring up a good point, i.e. that WYW's act of bravery inspired JH's confession. And, that's been something quite refreshing and special about the series. Although WYW has autism, it doesn't make her a "bad" egg, she's just a "different" egg. She's the sole blue duck amongst all the yellow duckies. Or, as she explained to her mother, Tae Sumi, a Narwhal living with a pod of Belugas. What an analogy! Lastly, she's like a loving cat, correcting JH's initial interpretation of unrequited love from cats toward owners. WYW's directness often comes across as stinging, but it's just factual information. People with autism can be mistreated as having limitations, when they are still people with personalities, and some are incredibly gifted. WYW's social awkwardness offset by her tremendous genius have repeatedly changed the course of those legal cases. Although it's fiction, I've enjoyed this show for shining a light on autism and not dehumanizing those on the spectrum. Wishing the EAW team and cast best of luck for a S2 in 2024. 🤞

Yes we don't hear enough people talking about how it was her bravery that gave him courage to try and talk to her. That was another wonderful piece to this scene that gets lost in the rest of it.
I loved that look she gave him! I think it was flirty but that was also the moment where she began to feel fulfillment which she mentioned to her Dad later. I can't wait to see her bring him home to meet her Dad. However, worry about her meeting his parents considering the way his sister reacted.
My favorite part is how she was able to realize that just getting out of the car was inappropriate all on her own. The scene is great in the romantic sense but that added layer really shows how Young Woo is growing as a person. It highlights the fact that people with autism are a lot more capable than they’re given credit for and if given the opportunity or attention they’re can really flourish. I love that he’s helping to bring that out of her.
Yes this. And how many other times did she physically or mentally run from him in a similar emotional situation. She was going to run this time too, but didn't and actually took the time to verbalize what she felt. Huge step!

Seeing how she broke up with him and immediately switched to work mode, and he was like left hanging at the beach..."are you kidding me?" cos she broke up without giving a reason!!! that's seriously the embodiment of making her partner lonely!! AND this time. she realllllllllly stopped to answer him properly! AND I LOVE THEIR CUTE smiling at each other thru the windscreen scene as she went across the road!!!!!!!

The slight break in his voice when he said "let's not break up" pulls at the heartstrings, it's so sweet and yet the hint of desperation? perfectly executed. The nuances in his acting helped convey how deeply he really loves her. Kudos to KTO! I didn't pay much attention to him in his other dramas but I'll be on the lookout from now on. He's not yet on PEB's omega level skills but he can spar with her. They made a good love-team! At first I thought they chose him because he looked a bit like Rowoon (which might help attract fans from TKA?) but I think the casting directors probably saw in him what we are seeing here.
Either way, happy the writers made this decision to further their relationship, and that he was able to overcome her emotional wall when she was firm about not making him a lonely partner.
You said it well! Eun bin and Tae Oh do really have an extraordinary chemistry and one thing i notice to Tae Oh is how expressive his eyes. Whale done Kang Tae Oh!

"My feelings toward you are like the unrequited love toward a cat" will be another iconic line that will be surely remembered in the world of kdrama ❤️. Jun-ho enumerating all his happy moments with Young-Woo gives us summary of all the scenes when they make our heart flutter ❤️❤️

Junho's nonverbal expressions are priceless and very contagious. He makes you cry when he's sad and he makes you laugh & smile when he's happy. Just like that! For me, looking at him responding to Young Woo brings out a different feeling & understanding about autism. I'm quite new to Korean Drama but this I dare say that Kang Tae Oh is very impressive & a treat to watch.
Jun Ho will never ever forget this moment...those tiny little things makes him HAPPY....like when he showed her the whale picture in the conference room or when she shyly asked him if he still liked her after running away or when he stepped back to give her space and she came toward him...or the smile she gave him when he said "I will be your hugging chair".
And the shy smile she gave him this time...running away "as always", will never be forgotten...
Can we also appreciate Kang Taeoh's acting, I could feel Junho's emotions through the screen... very well-portrayed 👏🏼❤❤

You know it’s good when you don’t get a kiss at the end but you still feel so happy and satisfied for the couple! I’m a diehard romantic, love the kiss scenes in rom-coms, movies, etc… but this “happy ever after” ending is another level. Absolutely delightful show, I’ll be watching over and over for many years to come. 💗

I was worried with the announcement of the season 2 that we would get a cliffhanger here but I'm satisfied with the finale. It had enough open story to pick up a season 2 but it ended well even if for some reason it does not happen.
This was Kang Taeoh's best scene. His delivery was so touching and heartfelt. I got tears and goosebumps
1:35 JunHo's deep voice really made my heart vibrate omgg, I usually get goosebumps everytime watching again. His tone - voice, his eyes in this scene is wonderful. In addition, I luv the way YoungWoo listened to his expression, the fluctuation in her eyes while listening to him. That touched my heart! What talented actor and actress! Best couple in Kdrama 2022! Hope many awards for them and for the film in the end of year!

Oof this profession of love is up there with Mr Darcy’s. Heart melting! American storytelling could never do this. This is my first Kdrama. The acting is so nuanced considering Mr Kang barely has lines and we barely get eye contact from Ms Park. The level of talent that they have to still make us feel and tell the story the way they did is amazing
The ‘cat love’ goes both ways I feel. Remember when Young woo would just wait to see Junho and ready to go about her day without expecting anything in return? Or when she calls him one night and is just happy to see/hear him without expecting him to do anything? Have heard this of people in the spectrum, they love without expecting back.
Also the breakups in kdrama land mostly feels forced and just for the heck of it. Here I felt Youngwoo’s reason was genuine and hence their getting back too was so nicely done!

Kang Taeoh was the best partner on screen so far for Park Eunbin. He compliments her skills well and their chemistry is sooo beautiful throughout the whole drama. I've watch few of Eunbin dramas and I will always said Taeoh is her best partner on screen. He shows his real skills and power as a male lead. Imma proud Whale Nationsss🐳💕
I have seen all Park EunBin dramas and I completely agree with you. His acting skills are on par with Eunbin’s that’s why the chemistry is on another level compared to other partners. BEST PARTNER FOR SURE.
All the actors she paired up with I must say kang tae-oh is the best partner for her, he can match with energy of her and balance their chemistry perfectly. No matter how many other actors eun-bin and tae-oh will work, can never beat the level of chemistry they both have together!!
Everyone in a relationship has moments of feeling lonely, so it shouldn't be a reason of not being together. They have good communication and understanding with and respect for each other which are already a more solid base than what many normal couples have. So happy for this scene and I am tearing up too.
Lee Jun Ho and Woo Young Woo really showed us how to date without saying you are dating, how to hold hands without physical contact(yet so heart melting) and how to say I love you without actually saying it yet it's makes you so happy ❤️😭!!!....All smiles and sugar for the best couple 🥺❤️
If you really think about it, she has always been exactly what his analogy described.
He put in so much thought into what to say and that’s why he’s always been a green flag.
Since the beginning, from the very instant that they met, he helped her through the revolving doors, no hesitation. It can be compared to someone finding a little kitten that’s helpless in the street.
Next was when he said she could talk about whales to him and she would follow him around. It’s like the little kitten found a person who could be her friend and offer support.
Then, he slowly began to realize that he actually needed her by his side and would be amazed at the things she would come up with and do during her trials. It’s like he knew the little kitten was full of warmth and so cute and would make him smile.
When they decided that they would be together, sometimes he would get frustrated about what she would do or say in their relationship. It’s like a little kitten who sometimes doesn’t give you enough attention and wants to wander around instead of spending time with you.
And lastly, him realizing that when he doesn’t have her around and they’re broken up, that he actually needs her to be happy. The person came to terms that even after everything, the little kitten is the one who offered the most happiness in the persons life, and that they want to spend as much time as they can with it.

When he sees her in that wedding dress.....well that does it for me! And you can see in his face, that also does it for him! She is absolutely gorgeous!

The best part is her move at the end as she is running. When she throws her arms back and leans forward like she is crossing the finish line and breaking the tape. Brilliant.
I think she's bowing to the government guy who has come to meet her at Gate 5. Running and bowing. Maybe not the most dignified way to greet someone! But very charming, genuine and hilarious - at least when Young Woo does it. I laugh out loud at this point, every time I re-watch. I absolutely love this whole scene.
The dialogue in this drama is really out-of-this-world but so effective that I’m always floored with how things are worded whether in their relationship or other aspects of this drama. The writer must have been so proud of her own work ‘cause she deserves to feel pride in her writing.

This was such a touching scene, and their acting has been superb throughout. The way her previous words about Jun Ho being lonely visibly gave him pause, mixed feelings. And the way Young Woo talked to her mother especially this last time. Incredible. What a beautiful ending to a wonderful drama 🙏🐳💖🐳

This was such a beautifully well rounded show with such lovable and memorable characters. Wholesome but eye opening, sad and funny moments. I've enjoyed this so much watching it from the first week to now, it's officially one of my comfort shows.

During a really hard time in my life when I've felt completely hopeless, this drama reminded me that there's hope and that life can be beautiful. Truly a healing drama like I've never seen before. To everyone who worked on it...thank you.
I guess out of the hundreds of comments I've read, let me just affirm how healing a series EAW for me also. So many rightfully credit the two main as actors in their brilliance, but it's a whole team effort starting with the vision of hope and resilience starting with the screenwriter and director that I am grateful for. As a 60 year old English man, we are supposed to be stoic and have a stiff upper lip when faced with emotions. But I have to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed this show and found it refreshing, especially when compared to the identity and political riven stuff pushed down our throats by a lot of Western productions. My stiff upper lip has wobbled slightly during this show and if either of my daughters comes home with a Junho, I'll be a happy man. I am also smitten by Park, who has been erm extraordinary indeed! (Don't tell my wife 😊)
Thanks to Netflix, men all over the world have fallen in love with Park Eun-bin and with Woo Young-woo! This is absolutely fantastic television.

Everything in this scene is perfectly executed. Using the cat human relationship as an analogy for their relationship is quite clever. But there are three things that I love about this scene.
1st one is the way Jun Ho asked Young Woo not to break up. He said all the reasons that made him happy without hiding the fact that he also felt lonely sometimes but despite that, he had the courage to ask YW to keep their relationship in a firm, with a hint of desperation, hope and uncertainty kind of way. For me that was enough to see how despite his calm facade at that moment, his voice and eyes tell the willingness to ask her, the fear of getting rejected the second time and hope for their relationship to work. The second thing I like about this is how YW commented and answered JH. We all know when it comes to communication she can be a tough nut to crack. But here, YW said what's on her mind. She was indirectly saying that the love they have isn't unrequited. The moment she also said "Let's not break up" feels like an answered prayer. She's giving JH a confirmation and reassurance to keep their relationship. That's why I will now tell the last thing I love about this scene. The way JH looked and got teary eyed while watching YW.The way I see it, it wasn't just tears of joy. It was tears of relief. From what I said earlier JH may have been planning this moment for a while since they broke up and that dread feeling of being rejected or YW not wanting to get back together may have been building up from him. Which is why the moment she said as well not to break up and leave, he was in a state of relief. The fear of totally losing her was completely wiped out that he shed tears.

What a beautiful end. It wasnt just him loving her, ofcourse Junho started it and developed a crush on her but it was her sincerity, and her innocent love and the way she tried to make HIM feel special by being nice to him and all chivalrous despite her social anxiety etc, that was what kept him going. When she broke up because she didnt want him to be lonely, it proved that after all he isn't the only one who will have to look after her, she will too, just in her own way.
I've cried so much with this last episode, I was so happy with all of this, I don't really needed a last kiss between Jun-Ho and Woo, this was perfect to me, the emotion on this scene was beyond my expectations ♥️ my favorite whale couple ♥️

This is just beautiful! deep expression of true love and affection.
What makes this scene so heartwarming and especial is that they just told each other “I love you” In their own different and unique way.
JH was honest and straightforward and didn’t say any lies like “I don’t feel lonely” but instead told her that he does feel lonely but that for him being happy makes it worth it, in other words “I love you and even though I feel lonely sometimes, is worth it because you make me the happiest with everything you do and who you are as a person”.
And WHW telling him “the expression, the unrequited love towards cat is inappropriate” means “Don’t you ever things that I don’t love you, because I do, and my feelings for you are the same as yours towards me”.
And also when WYW says “Because cats loves their owners too” she just said “I love you, Jun-ho” which is why he is so shocked, because she finally express her feelings (in their own way). 🐳
I just love how beautiful this scene was written. It describes perfectly their relationship.
I truly hope season 2 happens because two years is a long time and a lot can happen, and they can have schedules conflict but if they push through with it, I think seeing WHW and LH relationship grow will be a beautiful thing, and also seeing WHW because a “no ordinary attorney”. ♥️

Im so happy with the ending 😍😍😍. It felt so good when your favorite k-drama ended with a happy ending. Again Park Eun Bin did not disappoint with her drama, almost all of her dramas ending are happy one hahhaha. She really chooses a well written drama with a satisfying ending.
JH is precious as he does not want to change her at all, just accepts who she is wholly and looks at the positive side of things.
