Mulan and Merida are the only warrior princesses. Those are the ones that would lend themselves to being gamers (sword fighting) in a modern day setting. I think it makes perfect sense to attribute that to Mulan
Ngl it's still kinda ???? to me that they equate "gaming" with "sword fighting" and "not feminine activity" when we get a huge variety of games and research shows that more than 50% of gamers are women nowadays. It's completely ok to attribute it to Mulan or Merida but why NONE of the others, esp when they've been trying to push the narrative of "independent and fierce" princesses for a while now?

@@dreamerbee I think it's because many of the others have established interests and hobbies. Tiana is a chef, Rapunzel is an artist, Ariel collects human trinkets, etc. I could see Mulan being a gamer because eSports is very big. Not so sure about Merida though.
@@maaikegeniole4450 That's very true for the "new" princess but not as much for the old ones, like.... Aurora's interests are..... sleeping? Waltzing with forest animals? Let my girl play a MMORPG or some DnD so she can fight a dragon or something XD
@@dreamerbee I don't really care for Aurora, her movie was boring to me. We never got any sort of insight on who she is because she was asleep for the majority of her movie. She could totally be a gamer.
I think that the Mulan outfit being a gamer is brilliant. They managed to avoid the pitfall of doing a kimono or a Chinese collar dress and go into the whole cultural appropriation issue. The outfit has the colors of both Mulan dressed like a lady and like a soldier.

*Don't Cut It!!* I had to deal with that Rapunzel shirts guts coming out today. Just find tweezers or something similar and pick the extra strings back into the shirt sleeve. I bought some of these fashion packs and I agree with your message about the removable hands. So many little strings getting in between the dolls fingers, and not allowing the hand to pop out was a pain.
I got two of these Ily dolls (Snow White and Tiana) and love them so much I want the whole set now. I want the two you're showing in this video so badly! I discovered for getting hands through tiny sleeves it's helpful if you wrap the hand in a bit of plastic first so that the thumb won't snag on the fabric.
I wish the Rapunzel inspired fit had more symbols related to the movie, but i love the sleeves
Agree! It should have had the sun symbol on the top or something more obvious.
Amazing how detailed these ILY fashions are - you just don't see that anymore at playline level. These dolls and fashions really remind me of the quality of Barbie Generation Girl, the Barbie Style dolls, My Scene and here in the UK Sindy fashions of the 1980's/early '90's. Makes a change from nylon fabric with everything printed on and neon lumps of cheap unpainted plastic for shoes. GI Joe (Action Man in the UK) used to come with a white smooth thing like a beaker that you would pop on the hand to stop the fingers catching in the sleeves... and then you took it off the hand afterwards...maybe they should come with something like that to make it easier, or as you say have removeable hands.

So glad I had watched your video before getting my own Mulan fashion pack because one shoe was fused at the top like yours and the other was fused completely. I was able to carefully pull it apart along the line, though.

I thought the hands came off. My Froggy Stuff and They Call Me Obsessed swapped the hands out and showed the pegs.
I finally found a comment stating this. The hands come off :)
Try taping their hands with some regular adhesive tape before dressing them. Usually does the trick for the non-removable hands. Actually, they have pegs - really long ones. MyFroggyStuff already "dismembered" them😂.
The Rapunzel sleeves drove me up a wall while I was putting them on. I ended up rubber banding the necklace onto the doll so that I would sit flat over the shirt. Very cute design, but I agree that there were logistical issues.

I just received the Mulan fashion pack today and was a little worried about getting the jacket on. I ended up turning the jacket inside out and inserting her hands through the cuffs then turning the sleeves right side out. Wasn't sure it would work since the cuffs are so tight but it only took about five minutes and no swearing at all!
IDK to me the Mulan fashion pack looks more Toystory/Buzz lightyear inspired than anything else.
Hello…this is my suggestion regarding the hands/sleeves thing insertion…this might work…maybe you can put a thin fabric sock like glove on the hand before putting on the sleeve of the clothes so that it will slide on easily and any extra threads will not caught up on the fingers and then you can just pull it off…😊

I usually put a piece of tape on the dolls hand before putting the shirt so the fingers don’t get caught up
I don’t think mga gave us removable hands until lol omg, tweens, RH/SH etc. yes 💯💯💯 dolls with articulation removable hands help. Like a Barbie fashionista is easy to dress. Def I agree if you make long sleeves test them out on the doll 1st before selling 🤦🏻♀️🤗

The mouse ear headlands fit Monster High dolls very well but I think cause they have bigger heads that lend to a snug fit
I REALLY hope they do more clothes for these dolls! Like Lilo and Stitch, Tinkerbelle, Bambi and what nots!
Hi Melissa, great review! Regarding the sleeves, doesn't it help wrapping the hands with tape or the corner of a plastic baggie, like we do with Barbies?
I have the inspired by repunzel fashion pack and the shoes fit MonsterHigh g3 Clawdeen Wolf. I do hope that it’s the same for Twyla once I actually unbox her for Imbolc. I suggested that if your concerned about snipping those threads to put a thin layer of glue on them before hand when it’s inside out.
I feel that the accessory pack that is inspired by mulan fits her character better, but I do still really like it.
I tend to save the clear rubber bands that come with the dolls and use those to hold down necklaces on dolls and I completely agree about the Rapunzel top I had the same issue with the sleeves

Those shelves seem to fit the dolls height so well 😃 I am in love with this line & I have all the dolls on my wish list as well as some of the fashion & accessories packs too 😍
Put a small plastic bag or piece of saran wrap over the hands to help get them through the sleeves
Those are the Clawdeen Wolf type shoes 🤩 a repaint might look really good 👍🏽
I love the mulan fashion pack but with the dolls If you wash the hair the eyes sometimes get damaged or warped or is it just me?
The doll eyes are made with paper, so their eyes do get warped. Myfroggystuff had a video about it. But the great thing is, it's easy to pop out the eyes, customize them with something more permanent like nail polish, and pop them back in! It's a customizer's dream!
Just keep the eyes from getting wet.

It seems that the eyes are madw of plastic with a paper insert inside, and that insert can get damaged by heat (at least that's what I understood by watching myfroggy's video). So I'm guessing that washing the hair regularly with cold water should be no problem, but a boil wash would be a no-no.
Integrity Toys dolls have hands come off. You can actually completely dismantle them limb for limb if your heart so wanted to.
Agreed. If the dolls are made for adults, we need easily removable hands (as in the hands/clothing do not risk damage in removal attempts)
If the dolls are made for children, they need ample arm holes. Kids cannot be expected to plastic wrap and all that to dress a doll.
loving the clothes and for a new doll line i hope disney listens to the reviewers and comments of doll collectors because this doll line in great but there are some improvements. Besides removable hands, I would like the articulation in the arms to improve as well as the chest and legs. These dolls are beautiful but can sit worth a damn. lol

It’s not really unnecessary…it’s a real problem, especially for people with limited hand function or you know…children. Do you see what happened to the Rapunzel shirt?

Those hands ARE removable, all you need to do is pour some boiling water into a cup and dip the arms of the doll into the water for about two minutes. Then pull them out.
For whatever reason I think someone should remove the hands of a random doll and find two stuffed Llamas and make a skit of Llamas In Hats... just a random thought

They should’ve just collaborated with Barbie that has experience with doll making in general that size honestly I think I would like them better because right now they all kind of remind me of tinker Bells face don’t care for them at all
I don't think it's because Mulan is Asian. Gamers generally are more attracted to adventure type stories and characters, which Mulan has in spades!

The red hat and the yellow star make me think of Ariel and not Mulan as much.
I thought that was meant to be kinda Mushu colors and the star could be a stylized firework?
The star is a flower, like Mulan's father puts in her hair.

tbh It feels to me more than they couldn't bear to put just her in pants (even Mulan has to still be super feminine apparently) so they made her a gamer because "That's a boy thing, right?".
I'm just not feeling these Disneybounder dolls. No offence to anyone or anything. I collect fashion dolls and I feel no desire to buy these Ily's.
