@@mr_koko2070 TBH this put me off buying it entirely. Game's ready, but only a select few can play it and they even took down the demo. Well, I'm bored now, so I gotta find something - and by the time it releases, I'll already be on something else. Less frustrating when you know you simply won't play it.

OMG caveblazers is one of my favorite games on my switch lol. There is so, so much more depth than it appears at first glance, I have at least 100 hours in that stupid game. Even unlocked the 4 secret modifier things (that took forever lol)

I'm just glad the titles aren't clickbait and every subsequent new game just happens to very sincerely be the 'best roguelike of the year' over all the other ones before it. We're only in April but I bet nothing can beat this one that beat all the other ones... right?

Also, that "Enemies go first" is kind of a fricked rule, gotta keep that in mind for sure
I think enemies going first balances with your ability to use cards
@@IvanSensei88 I think I didn't make my point clear, I don't mean it in a way as "Man, the enemies going first is unbalanced, and has no reason to exist", it makes a lot of sense balance wise, considering the player can see what the enemies intend to do and react to those intentions, generally has many more actions to make in both quantity and variety, and have other run-specific effects that completely change how the combats go, it does make sense.
I mean it as "man, the enemies going first is not something other roguelike deckbuilding games do and to someone that is used to it being that way can really mess up how they think", and Tyler being someone that fits this description has to keep in mind that he can't simply let his own characters deal with the enemies but has to actively delay the enemies' actions to get the much needed upper hand
It's not that complex, but being basically traumatized by Spelunky I've learned that even the smallest of things can have run-ending consequences and the ending of this video really exemplifies this
@@bbittercoffee Ahh, sorry if I sounded offensive there, I was just sharing my thoughts on why they may have made such a design choice.
And yes, I think lots of games where the enemy always has the initiative are quite scary and stressful.
I used to play Lord of the RIngs the LCG (living card game)... and enemies would always strike first, and what's worse they can just appear out of nowhere unpredictably and hit one of your heroes, and you had to constantly be on your toes for those surprise attacks, so I totally agree - these kind of games can be extremely stressful.
But in this one, since you see what's coming and you know you're at this disadvantage - it kinda feels more rewarding when despite that handicap - you still manage to outplay them xD

I didn't know of any other games where the enemies strike first, even if they are hidden! Now that is truly fricked.
And yeah, overcoming the battle with such a significant disadvantage is very rewarding indeed
I just make imposible to Win, my boss has all the effects... multi hit, smackback, barrage... cards that heals... 😅

Yes it's definitely fun but on the other side it's just a simplified version of nowhere prophet. You barley have any ways of customizing your deck or gamepath (it acts like you have a choice but let's be real it's just a straight line ).
What really annoys me are the random leader but the decks are always the same for each tribe.
My personal deckbuilding rouge like of the year would be Knock on the coffin lid. They do massive progress since the ea release and already has 10 times more content
