ReBoot set a standard for western animation, and was one of the pioneers of CGI TV series ever made. And to think that the same people would go on to make Transformers Beast Wars a few years later, which also had a major cultural impact for my generation, kids these days will never get to experience the evolution of animation in realtime like we did.
I was 8 years old when ReBoot hit. I remember watching every episode with my brother. YTV back then had quite a few shows back to back, especially on a Friday night.
Seeing the first two episodes of this doc in the revue theatre in Toronto was so delightful. I felt like a kid again. Can't wait for the rest of the episodes. See you Oct 15th!
The CGI is positively _quaint_ looking back from the lofty year of 2024, but the strength of (classic) Mainframe's shows was the _storytelling._ You go through ReBoot and Beast Wars and the storytelling absolutely holds up to what's around today, sometimes even better. Looking forward to seeing this when it's release-worthy.
Reboot has been one of my favorite cartoon shows growing up! I remember when it was first on ABC here in America on a Saturday morning when I was about 6 or 7 years old. I got into computer stuff because of Reboot and all the computer terminology used in the show. As a kid, I had no idea it was a Canadian cartoon show since I was born and raised in the States. However, I was blown away since I found out it's Canadian because I have some very rich Canadian heritage so Reboot you could say is part of my heritage as well! Timeless underrated classic CGI cartoon show!
I first saw reboot on cartoon network when it was a part of toonami. I saw in the weekly TV Guide some show called sailor man, and then reboot. I couldn't read that good way back when, so I was confused and intrigued when I got my first dose of magical girl anime, and that coupled with an amazing CGI storytelling cemented in weekday afternoons for me. Reboot is 10/10!
I grew up watching Reboot in the US and eventually ended up pursuing a career in 3D art largely because of my love for Reboot/Mainframe. I bought all the DVDs and ended up following all the other adjacent productions of Mainframe at the time through Shadow Raiders and Beast Wars. This documentary is incredibly important to us fans.
yep, a lot of the CG shows in the 90's were being made by Mainframe Entertainment. ReBoot is one of the original creations they made. Others were licensed shows, like Beast Wars, Shadow Raiders, Max Steel, and Action Man, were all developed by Mainframe, on behalf of the toy companies.
It was also originally on ABC, one of the episodes of S2 (aka the finale) was a parody of ABC pulling the plug on them and "cancelling" the show. It wasnt until Y7 and Cartoon Network rescued Reboot and we got S3 as well as S4, hence thats why that happened. ;)
@@JojoMonReturns91YTV, the Canadian version of Nickelodeon, shared the show with ABC in terms of broadcasting it. When ABC was bought by the Walt Disney Company, who had the first Toy Story film coming up, they weren't interested in broadcasting the third season.
I don't know why but I wasn't into this show. Maybe I was already too old, but I can definitely say that when Def Leppard released Let's Get Rocked, my 12 or 13 year old mind was BLOWN!

and with the nostalgia glasses, incredible stories. such an incredible show. we can go into every vertex of the show and go over how awesome it is.

Born in 80's. Reboot was and still is my favorite show ever.
This is really world history being made into a documentary. Huge congratulations to the ReBoot Rewind team.
My biggest hope for this documentary is that it resurrects interest from the fanbase for getting a conclusion to the series! 😆
I am connecting to so many of these stories being shared. Still remember the guitar dual and Bob being shot into the web later on.

Nice - doc looks like it’s shaping up great!

Thank you for doing this. Reboot was such a groundbreaking show for CGI. Hopefully this sparks enough interest for a true continuation of the show.
2:19 Hey, this is from that "exclusive episode" in PS1 game. Cool that someone still had it in HQ. I sure hope we see all cutscenes in HQ
This is incredible. I loved Reboot as a 90s kid.

@@ColJonSquall1I didn't know they also did Max Steel 👀

I meant YTV not Y7. Thats the age rating I was thinking. XD

My grand-mother would record the show on a VCR cassette for me when I was a child because I didn't have cable back then. 😁
I binge-watched the first 2 episodes of the documentary. Can't wait for more
Saturday Morning on ABC, then saw the Rest on Cartoon Network. 1 of My Favorite Shows it would be Awesome to get another Season or 2 of Reboot
Well done folks 🎉
Can't wait for this

if it wasnt for reboot, might have never gotten interested into computers and programming much as i have
The response of "YOU'RE DOING IT, WAIT WHAT CAN I SEE IT CAN I SEE IT NOW" had to 100% be Woolie.
The length of this video being 4:52 is very good
4:12 Wait. What?! I don't remember this from the show. Is this from the ReBoot ride or something?
gahhhhhh!!! so exciting. can't wait to see all the episodes. ✨✨🤩 googliphonics for life. 🥹
