      Amen to that ! Bobby Wellins was a most understated and indeed under-rated saxophonist yet his contributions, such as Under Milk Wood, are timeless.

    Such a wonderful pairing of two complete originals each of whom is a credit to the British music scene. How beautifully they compliment each other. I loved Wellins in the 1960s. He never compromised his sound and approach and has found a soul mate in Newton.

    David Newton's piano playing is so beautiful, and I love Bobby Wellins' playing. I had a chance to chat with Bobby a few months ago. He's still out there playing as well as ever and was quite happy to talk sax-playing to a relative novice like myself. Like most jazzers I have spoken to he is very supportive and encouraging. I guess the unspoken message is we have to keep the music alive.
