Argentina SHOCK All Blacks in the Capital: All Blacks v Argentina | 2024

  • It was tough times for the All Blacks on the weekend, being beat by Argentina 30 to 38. Argentina rose to the occasion on the back of outstanding defence in the face of a first-half nightmare of penalties conceded in a game which yielded no scrums until the 60th minute. It was a harsh lesson for the new All Blacks regime after their three wins to open the 2024 season. Watch the mini match here if you missed it.

I disagree. I think NZ are exceptional. I believe they won the 2023 World Cup. They dominated every metric in that final and it took serious refereeing errors, a few which were admittedly confirmed by world rugby, for SA to win.
Watch us win in South Africa.
The reality is, that Argentina are really really good and they grow an extra leg,
when they play the best and can win that title of beating the best.
      It’s in their DNA

@@poerava Careful you don't develop a split-personality with that level of denial..
You do know the facts of the game, right?
      1) The Boks scored 12 points to win - these were all scored in the first 34 mins (before Cane's Yellow was upgraded to a red).
      2) The ABs had 2 kicks to go ahead in the second half - 2 different kickers missed.
      3) The ABs had 1 disallowed try (due to a real knock-on), and 1 allowed try (with a questionable final pass).
      4) The ABs were in possession in the final 2 mins of the game, and in the Boks' half. The ABs knocked their final chance on - nothing on the ref.

We had our captain red carded incorrectly
We had a penalty that was played back on the main screen, showing it was an incorrect penalty
We had a try called back when it went back more than 2 phases.
The world rugby acknowledged the last two as errors.
We won every metric of the game. Metres made, possession, scrum, line out, tackles beaten, etc.
No other team in every single World Cup, has won so many metrics, yet lost the game.
Our captain is our leader. He was sent off for most of the game.
We made your ‘bomb’ squad, look like a ‘bum’ squad. And that is with Jordan Barrett, a midfielder, hanging off the back of the scrum.
Every South African I know, is embarrassed to be gifted that win.
If NZ won in the same circumstances, I would say the same thing as my South African friends and would acknowledge we didn’t win the match.
Wayne Barnes and his elected TMO who he is very good friends with, have said that they are ‘new Zealand’s number one public enemy’ and that they have resisted ‘abuse from crowds since 2007’ when Barnes didn’t call a 2metre forward pass which knocked us of the World Cup (which he also acknowledged was an error) so it’s understandable that his swan song would kick us where it hurts.
I am hurt for the springboks who were given an undeserved win.
Happy to explain the incorrect calls and why they are game changing calls.

The only split personality is the deafening silence of Rassie.
World rugby acknowledged game changing errors.

A disallows try going back 4 phases when they can only go back 2
We made your ‘bomb’ squad, look like the b u m squad.
Show some respect and show some shame brother.
And that is with a midfielder hanging off the back of the scrum.
No team in World Cup history, or any match, even in pool play, has ever won that many key metrics such as scrum, line out, possession, tackles beaten, etc. And lost the game.
Let me know if you need any of the incorrect errors explained.

Brasil has lost the last 3 matches against the Argies (Brasil lost America´s cup final in their own country, and two Wc qualifications matches more), always was a Powerhouse. As I look back now a month on from this game, the only contender for South Africa are Los Pumas. Albeit sitting 8 points adrift they could still take the Championship. ABs having won 1 from 4 are 7 points on the log and Wallabies also having won 1 from 4 also are sitting on 4 points. This means if ABs win both their games against Australia with BPs to boot it wouldn't give them enough to pass the Bokke.
Argentina are on 10 points having won two and lost two but one they got winners BP and the other they got loser BP. Won two and 1 BP, lost two with one BP.
Now all that stands in their way are the World Champions who have just smoked Wallabies and now beaten the Blacks. Also all Bokke need to do to secure RC Title is win one game.

@@Jay685toa He's supposed to get low for the tackle--the whole point is they don't want people standing up in the tackle and risking head on head collision. That's why in virtually every other international test you see these gives as yellows. Attacker doesn't dip, defender stands up in the tackle, shoulder and head hit = yellow card. If there was force in the tackle it would be a red. You can be angry at the laws, but that's how world rugby has adjudicated these scenarios for the last few years. I agree, it's unfortunate imo when it happens but you can't have it yellow one test, then just a pen the next etc. It needs to be consistent, and this incident is the outlier from international test officiating.

I believe my ABS will secure a win this weekend after their very sluggish performance last week. From what I observed, they made three easy errors that allowed the Pumas to score points ahead of them. Additionally, the ABS missed two easy opportunities that could have turned the game in their favor. With those mistakes, the ABS could have won by 2 points. But, the Argie boys was the better team on the day emerged victorious. Go hard this time ABS!

It’s not surprising this team lost. I mean look at it
Front rows decent, but bugger all scrums during the game made them insignificant.
Second row inexperienced….one of them has had plenty of chances but never really impressed.
Loose forwards are a shambles …..basically 3 smallish open side flankers…Argies would have been licking their lips to see that line up.
A past it ponderous half back,
    A skittish unreliable 1st 5,
    Totally average mid field pairing,
One wing that shouldn’t be there, the other has his elusive moments
Ancient fullback that know blows hot and cold
HUGE OVERHALL NEEDED TO GET THINGS BACK ON TRACK

The success of all blacks in world cup championship was mainly due to the New Zeland referee who favored outrageously the black team and killed the game.
Even Argentina can beat all blacks with a fair referee and a bit of luck.
I don't like seeing all blacks because it is ugly with too much dangerous agressivity.
In the resume, we can see that Yellow cards should have been given to all blacks during 2 dangerous actions targeted the head of argentin attacker.
Argentina has also a tough game style that is ugly to see.
