Well done Rachel! It’s crazy to think I started watching you 4 years ago when you were prepping for the mcat. Now you’re prepping to enter residency and I’m prepping to enter med school in the fall. It’s been a crazy ride
such a crazy ride. Thank you for being part of my journey Brian!
Blows my mind how time has flown by. I remember finding your channel when you were doing the medical school interviews. Now you’re doing residency interviews! Glad to watch you grow as a doctor!
My heart fills with so much proud and warmth to see you go through the residency process. We've been here as a community since a long time and watching you grow has given me sooo much encouragement and inspiration to do the same! It was actually good to see you talk about teaching and guiding 2nd yr med students for suturing and the procedure, while i am still able to remember how you used to practice for the same 2 yrs back!! time indeed flys. Lots of luck and virtual positive energy to you 💗🌱🤗✨!!!!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your interview setup! It gave me some ideas for my own interview setup! I hope you are doing well and taking care of yourself 💕
I can’t wait to be at this point in my career! You’ve inspired me to start my own RUclips channel to document my med school journey! Thank you for letting us come with you through your journey!
Semester just ended so it’s catch up on Rachel’s vlogs time 🥳 I started watching you when you were a first year, and seeing you applying to residency now is so surreal :’)) You’re going to be the best obgyn ever! Your future patients are so lucky to have you as their doctor 🫶🏼
😭 thank you Rita♥️
currently pumping out a lab report before this drops so it has my full attention 🥹🫶🏽
East coast?! Ahhh!! You are doing amazing and I wish you could see yourself the way that we all see you! I already knew you were gonna absolutely smash those interviews!
Best of luck! You keep me inspired, any residency would be happy & lucky to have you!
Double upload! I'm soo happy and exciteddd🙌
Hi Rachel! I have been watching your videos for years! I will be applying to med school next year and am really interested in ob/gyn! I have had a very hard time studying for the mcat this year and thought abt giving up so many times. I never commented but I just want to tell you that seeing your video gives me so much motivation and happiness, its like seeing a future that I might be able to achieve! Good luck with your residency app!
Love your videos❤️, they get me so motivated
You’ve inspired me to talk to the students and residents more at my hospital! It’s so neat to hear their education journeys and how their experiences compare to yours
Hi Rachel, I just recently discovered your channel, but I’m so touched that we’re both going through the same process in our careers right now (I’m also applying for obygyn residency) ❤ congratulations for everything you’ve achieved so far! Greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽
Good luck, Rachel!! ❤ great vlog!
Omg I'm just so ready for this...i can't wait
Even if you make like a 5 hour long video or start a livestream, I am up for it. Your vlogs are so therapeutic and motivating at the same time
Thank you♥️♥️
Hey Rachel thanks for the lovely video I’m glad all your interviews went well! For many students especially international ones these residency interviews may be their first job interviews they’ve ever given so it can be really nerve racking not knowing what an ideal answer looks like. Also great tip with the putty at your desk and the checking yourself on zoom I’ll Reiner to use that too. If you plan of doing fire interview tips I would love to have more in dept tips like how you chose which programs to apply to and how your experience may differ from your colleagues experience with interviews or even how to be yourself lol I guess it always aid be yourself be natural but it’s so hard to let yourself be shown when you also want to impress.
Congratulations!! Very exciting
LOVE YOU SO MUCH SO PROUD🥺🥺🥺❤️
Thanks for the video, we're proud of you for that back-to-back interviewing! P.S. I would cherish any interview tips from you so much
Going through med school interviews now and that post-interview feeling is amazing
I'm the exact same way with the weather changes! We had our first huge dump of snow a few weeks ago and now it's hovering just above freezing so everything's melting and I'm so congested and my head feels so stuffed up :S Fall and spring are my least favourite seasons haha best of luck Rachel!!
How to prepare for my 1st interview ever. I am a premed, applying for medical school. This video was great. I was stressed for you, and I got too excited when you where satisfied with the interviews as well 🤩
I'm not even in the medical field I really appreciate your videos

Celebrating with you! Phew!!😅
in the building watching from barbados glad to be here 😎😎😎
Wow, it seems super inconsiderate and frankly unprofessional that these programs wouldn't take your time zone into consideration when scheduling interviews. This is a job interview, it shouldn't matter if medicine is 24/7, it should still be conducted during business hours!
I know right that is when you know that the residency program is bad when they can't even take simple measures to ensure professionalism and respect towards their possible future residents
Um. Lol. 9a eastern time means 5a west coast time. They aren't going to accommodate everyone because they have their own residency to run and people to see and most of the time it's already a half day that is being carved out. What usually happens is they have set days and times with multiple slots for candidates per day. An email gets sent out to over 100 people and they just have to get a slot that works for them/as quick as possible. It makes sense to prioritize the actual resident's schedules because they're the ones who have the busier schwdules. That's the thing that sucks about virtual interviews but more people can go to them because you save the money of travel so you aren't as limited. It's a tradeoff that largely benefits students in the long run because they can interview at more places whereas before if you didn't have they money to travel, you were SOL. If they accommodated her it would make the entire day wasted for staff and residents instead of a half day and if it's normally an afternoon interview it would be 3-7 or 4-8 her time which isn't fair to the residents who already have long days.
@@kaitlynkilpatrick36 Nice. I didn't know that the residents are the ones to perform the interview
@@josephdahdouh2725 there is always at least one resident with faculty that perform it because you want to see a resident's perspective of the program as well and it can be a chance to ask questions you wouldn't be comfortable asking an attending. You also have to see if personalities match as well considering you spend most of your waking hours with these people for at least three years
@@kaitlynkilpatrick36 nice to know. I hope I get this opportunity too someday
2:05 i went from "Awwww such a cute chubby face" to "OH HELL NO"
Yay excited
In the building watching from Barbados 😎😎😎
Love your out-tros
i'd love some med school (especially osteopathic med school) tips!
Really Lovely and insipirng Video❤❤

Just curious why didn’t you used you iPhone continuity camera with macbook
What's the iphone continuity camera?
can you do a video about your professional/business wardrobe for interviews and work
currently doing dental school interviews 🥹
Sending hug!
Does this allergy de-puffing trick work with a credit card? asking for a friend
After each interview, how do you rank how you felt about each program? Do you keep a journal or excel sheet to keep track of the programs and the ~vibes~ you got from them from the socials/interviews themselves? Thanks for sharing!
Yes! I’ve been writing a list of everything during the meet/greet and interviews.
Could you please share interview answer questions
Do you keep notes beside you during interviews or just have the answers in your head?
In my head :)
Our girl graduating med school finally and Doctor in front of her name in few days 🥺❤
Few months 🥹♥️
@@RachelSouthard yassss ❤
Good vlog incoming…. 😃 Hope U r okay :)
❤
I have some questions for you
??
@@RachelSouthard
(1) Are you really 5'5"
(2) do you have seizures/ epilepsy
(3) how are you feeling
(4) I think your taller
(5) what is your favourite colour
(6) what is your eye colour
@Lewis Kent Your questions sound more like one coming from a doctor to a patient than to someone you don’t know, I’m sure not purposely so. Staying in your lane makes this format comfortable for everyone. Cheers!
@@RachelSouthard can you answer my questions please
Hi Rachel i miss u , where are u?
Right here
@@RachelSouthard i hope you are doing well ❤️❤️
Rachel, are you hispanic? Odd question lol but I always wonder what your ethnicity is
Yes!
Good Luck with your schooling. Work on being more calm. If you are freaking out now what are you going to do when you hold a persons life in your hands.
Freaking out for interviews for residency is appropriate and very much different than patient care. It’s okay to have emotions and experience stress, excitement, nervousness. We are human. Doctors are humans. Medical students are humans.
