Hi! love your content! I do have a problem with layout, I have a big model (around 40mb,I already clean it and that´s as small as it gets) and when I try to open it in layout it just frozes and stop working, is there a way to make it run faster? also I have a decent pc so I think thats is not the problem ( 2080 rtx, ryzen 5, 32gb of ram). Hope you can help me with these, thanks a bunch :)

I run a very fast workstation and mort of my non vray visuals are what I refer to as bumwad trace sketches because my client like the linework on a yellow background. I find layout to be incredibly slow and frustrating.
I also find it annoying the skectup has just continued to run with the old Autocad hack for exporting 2d views from a 3d model. 30 years ago, the hack was to trick a hp plotter config to spout out a vector image. You'd have line breaks at every intersection and multiple lines on top of each other. Its 2023 and the sketchup vector output is still the same.
I do a lot of design work in sketchup and it's just a pita to have to trace a 2d view in order to get a clean drawing in Autocad.

I also find Layout very very slow, mostly when it comes to actuallizing 3d model from Sketchup or when I switch to vector mode of Layout drawings. I have very good laptop parameters and sometimes have to wait 30 minutes for actualize 3d model in Layout.... is it normal ?

How can i cut the time of waiting tho? My proyect is somewhat big and it took 6 hours to vector a floorplan that was just a hidden line one.

Thanks, but haven't you covered this multiple time before? Maybe you can focus more on new content instead like VR / AR, etc?

Didn't realize that covering the fundamentals of working in Layout was something I could only talk about in a video 2 years ago and then never again. What specifically about SketchUp, AR and VR would you like me to cover?

@@Thesketchupessentials I do not want to end up in any kind of discussion here because I really appreciate this channel and I've learned a LOT of things from you throughout the years, however it's just not true that you mentioned this once before two years ago. Some examples regarding Vector / Raster / Hybrid during a 5 min search (so there might be even more):
      ruclips.net/video/sFDqPoNG9po/видео.html
      ruclips.net/video/pj5AMnmazNI/видео.html
      ruclips.net/video/aXS7D6lqusk/видео.html
ruclips.net/video/FZ_T_8NZscg/видео.html (and this is from a week ago)
To me a dedicated topic like this feels to me a bit too small and as a rerun of things. I would much rather see more detailed (!) topics like how to properly set up your Sketchup model for different renders, how to work smarter, maybe even go into a certain way of working like Nick Sonder does, explore AR/VR, using an iPad or Oculus, using AI to create Sketchup models, etc, etc. Maybe even create a whole series about it all. Thanks again and good luck.

Would you happen to know a new free alterative to FredoCorner and RoundCorner? I've found them very useful but free licensing was revoked recently. If there aren't any though, I'd be open to paying and supporting the creators.
