Epic video! Im a big fan of Gavin's too. Does he warm up a lot? And during the sound check what sort of things do you all check for? Anything specific that works for Gavin vs other artists you've played with? I notice he adjusts his pack for feedback fairly often throughout a concert. Anyway, really cool video!
He does warm up. He’s a killer singer and he (and the band too) are always tweaking the overall volume of our in ear packs because if it’s too loud your pitch can go sharp. He is really dialed into the nuances of it.
This particular night I was using a backlined ‘65 Reissue Fender Deluxe. There’s one on stage that I can control the settings then an extension cabinet miked off stage. I try to use my Supro Black Magick head and cab as much as I can though on tour.
