I'm 67 years old and just heard this song playing in a shop. To me it was a message from Jesus and I scrambled to find who the singer was and read the lyrics and take the meaning in. We are loved, God loves us and is with us no matter what we go through. When we seak Him we find him. Thank you for this beautiful song
This song is especially meaningful for me. My brother died last August. Since we were ten years apart and lived on opposite sides of the country, we were never really close for most of our lives, nothing in common and totally opposite worldviews. That all changed though when a heart defect caused him to lose everything and I brought him to live with me. I was shocked at how easy we were able to talk and communicate after being strangers for so long. Everything just fell into place and it was just us. I'm so grateful we had that chance to reconcile and be brothers even if it was just for a short while.

Even though its called "Brother" I want to dedicate this song to my sister. She died in 2000, and she had just turned 8 two weeks before. She died of cancer (not sure what kind) I never met her sadly. Her school dedicated a poem to her as well.

Didn't grow up in a Christian home but became a Believer later in adolescence. Totally spent my entire teens discovering and listening to Christian music. First concert was Skillet. Also saw Switchfoot in concert, they're a hoot. I listened mostly to the non-contemporary stuff tho like Newsboys (before Michael Tait took over), OC Supertones, Superchic[k], P.O.D., KJ-52, all kinds of rock, rap, and hardcore, and whatever played on one of our previously only 2 Christian radio stations. Sometimes I almost miss the rawness of Christian music/bands from the late 90s to 2000s. I have a harder time finding as much variety nowadays.

This song is especially meaningful to me, it reminds me of my loving brother Scott. Scott fought one heck of a battle with stage 4 brain cancer for 9 years. My heart ached for only a little bit. At his funeral, my loving brother showed himself to me, he was young, free, and at peace. I am ever so thankful and grateful to be able to experience that beautiful blessing from God. No matter what stage of life and or battle you are facing God is with his children, deep within your heart and soul. At the feet of Jesus there you'll be! Keep the light on in my soul and the blue bird in my soul! 💜

This reduces me to a sobbing heap everytime. My big brother died a horrible death in my arms on Valentines night 2017, he bled out in so much agony he begged me to end it, I did what I only knew to do & that was to grab my Bible & pray Psalm 91..God himself came down for my brother..the forces of evil fled immediately & I know there was angels there. ..mom slept soundedly in the next room and 2 dogs never made a sound when the house was full of cops & emts. There was a shield of Holy protection for hrs. It was a terrible night but the night I absolutely saw the Glory of God come down into my moms living room & I KNOW HE ANSWERS OUR CALLS 🫂💙✝️👑🕯

I remember being in elementary, hearing this song come on the radio for the first time. Way fm 🥹. I heard it and fell in love but I didn’t think to get the name of the song. I listened to radio every day constantly waiting to hear it play again. For some reason when it did play again, I always missed the name of it so I tried memorizing the lyrics to look it up on RUclips. Finally I found the song and watched the music video and I was in love. Mind you I was probably around 10 but this song made me come to tears with how beautiful it was. I have a couple of friends who have been close since childhood and we are all nearing 50. This song describes so well the feelings that I have for them. I read something in the Bible where Jesus is referred to as a ‘brother’. It’s sometimes hard , but ultimately, Christ is who we can lean on call on. who can take us higher. In Holy Spirit he is with us always, we need nothing to live up to, His love is unconditional and everlastingly.

Even though we all go through tough times, we need to remember that God is our shelter. Just like the lyrics say, he will never abandon us, he will never forget us. He always has unconditional love. So if you are going through tough times just remember, God is here for you. Even when it seems bad, it is all part of his big plan for us. I'm 67 years old and just heard this song playing in a shop. To me it was a message from Jesus and I scrambled to find who the singer was and read the lyrics and take the meaning in. This song is especially meaningful for me. My brother died last August. Since we were ten years apart and lived on opposite sides of the country, we were never really close for most of our lives, nothing in common and totally opposite worldviews. That all changed though when a heart defect caused him to lose everything and I brought him to live with me. I was shocked at how easy we were able to talk and communicate after being strangers for so long. Everything just fell into place and it was just us. I'm so grateful we had that chance to reconcile and be brothers even if it was just for a short while.

Even though its called "Brother" I want to dedicate this song to my sister. She died in 2000, and she had just turned 8 two weeks before. She died of cancer (not sure what kind) I never met her sadly. Her school dedicated a poem to her as well.

Didn't grow up in a Christian home but became a Believer later in adolescence. Totally spent my entire teens discovering and listening to Christian music. First concert was Skillet. Also saw Switchfoot in concert, they're a hoot. I listened mostly to the non-contemporary stuff tho like Newsboys (before Michael Tait took over), OC Supertones, Superchic[k], P.O.D., KJ-52, all kinds of rock, rap, and hardcore, and whatever played on one of our previously only 2 Christian radio stations. Sometimes I almost miss the rawness of Christian music/bands from the late 90s to 2000s. I have a harder time finding as much variety nowadays.

Yes needtobreathe is a Christian band but there's nothing wrong with them having songs that share a powerful message of love and hope for ppl that don't believe in God. My big brother died a horrible death in my arms on Valentines night 2017, he bled out in so much agony he begged me to end it, I did what I only knew to do & that was to grab my Bible & pray Psalm 91..God himself came down for my brother..the forces of evil fled immediately & I know there was angels there. ..mom slept soundedly in the next room and 2 dogs never made a sound when the house was full of cops & emts. There was a shield of Holy protection for hrs. It was a terrible night but the night I absolutely saw the Glory of God come down into my moms living room & I KNOW HE ANSWERS OUR CALLS 🫂💙✝️👑🕯

I remember being in elementary, hearing this song come on the radio for the first time. Way fm 🥹. I heard it and fell in love but I didn’t think to get the name of the song. I listened to radio every day constantly waiting to hear it play again. For some reason when it did play again, I always missed the name of it so I tried memorizing the lyrics to look it up on RUclips. Finally I found the song and watched the music video and I was in love. Mind you I was probably around 10 but this song made me come to tears with how beautiful it was. I have a couple of friends who have been close since childhood and we are all nearing 50. This song describes so well the feelings that I have for them. They ARE my brothers, whether or not through blood. I would be there in a heartbeat for them, and I know they would be for me. I thank you for this song, as it echoes the sentiments and effectively puts into words the love that I have for my friends. Love my brothers even though we live many miles apart now. I read something in the Bible where Jesus is referred to as a ‘brother’. It’s sometimes hard , but ultimately, Christ is who we can lean on call on. who can take us higher. In Holy Spirit he is with us always, we need nothing to live up to, His love is unconditional and everlastingly.

Even though we all go through tough times, we need to remember that God is our shelter. Just like the lyrics say, he will never abandon us, he will never forget us. He always has unconditional love. So if you are going through tough times just remember, God is here for you. Even when it seems bad, it is all part of his big plan for us.
