- In this video I discuss the top 5 things I dislike about my 2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser Trail Teams. I almost added the windshield in this lineup just because they are notorious for chipping and cracking (given how upright they are)... but I personally like the look of it, so I didn't add it. Whata re your thoughts? Did I miss anything? Thanks for watching as always.
PS: I LOVE this FJ, this is just a video of me being critical on a few things that could be better in my personal opinion. - Авто/Мото
I've been looking for FJs since you got this and you have a nicer one than any that I've seen listed. You found a diamond.
Car Story thanks man! It really is nice... I couldn’t believe that I stumbled upon it just 40 minutes away from where I live!
Peanut is a great addition to your videos! I love how she makes so many happy sounds in the background!! The trail teams badge comes with perks. Like upgrade skid plates and suspension. I know there are other things, just can't recall right now...
Haha thank you!!! She seems to think so too. =] Peanut is a riot.
Il definitely missing my trail teams FJ now... hope to buy a 2014 trail teams ultimate edition in the coming year or two. =] thank you for the comment.
The front is the A Pillar, driver's door is B Pillar and the middle section (the blind zone) is the C, the far rear on these SUV's are the D Pillar!! Good review that is very balanced!!
Thanks man, as always! Is the B pillar a thing on this even though there isn't a door frame pillar there?
Re: the bullbar; what about a piece of diamond plate alum. (or flat) cut to size from Home Depot, & riv-nutted to cover the "Tigger" (w/ a little rattle-can undercoating)?
D.S. Lewis that’s not a bad idea at all! Thx
I just saw a 2014 with 94,000 mi onthe toyota lot for 45,000. Similar color as above. It's 12/01/22 now. Your value of your fj cruiser has increased since then , What kind of gas would you expect from a vehicle of that type? if you pay attention and look first, visability isn't that bad. Use you rmirrors! 2013 models have increased the most, be happy!
Just bought my fist FJ last night so stoked about it
Rik TNDRA08 congratulations! You’ll love it! What year and color?
@@UntamedMotors 2014 cement but not trail edition
Also have my 2008 Tundra that some mods since new. Really love that one as well.
When is the gt350 video coming?! Can't wait ;)
Samuel Pong hopefully soon! Today in WY we’re having a legit blizzard... sooo... hah
Peanut is just so darn cute! good points btw i agree with most of them except the smoked head and tail lights. Big thing is the visibility and price for me.
Samuel Pong thank you, she’s a daddy’s girl for sure! The visibility is definitely the biggest issue.
The back up camera view is the Ford pickup trucks before they changed the head unit.
You should put the Rigid lights on brackets for Ditch Lights on your hood
Hi like always enjoy 😉 the video! Peanut is a daddy’s girl what a cutie! Stay safe out there.
Haha she is!
It’s hard for me to find 5 things I don’t like on my FJ Cruiser. I actually have 2 FJs. My wife drives a 2007 and I just got myself a 2014. I guess maybe it’s all still pretty new to me and will come up with five things eventually. As long as they continue to hold their value I don’t mind a higher price tag. Right now I’m planning on doing a few things on the 2014 like 3” lift and bigger 285 KO2s. Can’t decide what might be next . Maybe a lockable storage drawer for the cargo area since it lacks in the storage except the glove boxes. I like to carry a few tools when I travel.
That’s awesome. Congrats on the the FJs. They really are a ton of fun. These 5 dislikes are me digging for something hah. What colors dod you get?
Untamed Motors ,The 2007 is black with white roof and the 2014 is solid white, both in great condition. My wife is not going to like you very much I’m afraid, because now I think I will need a Tacoma TRD pro like yours to complete the list. There seems to be a shortage of pickups right now and I just sold my 2018 Silverado Z71 for $2,500 more than I paid new after driving it for 3 years. That Tacoma looks like a perfect replacement! I think my eyes have been opened to Toyota quality. I don’t plan on getting rid of the FJs unless a better one comes along at the right price. I’ve previously owned a lot of really neat cars and trucks and would much rather drive the classics than something new off the lot. Initially I found the 07 for my wife because she was tired of her Beetle Turbo but insisted on a manual transmission. There were only three I could locate within 500 miles of home that were in good shape and reasonable mileage. After driving it 5 hours back from Arkansas to Texas, I decided I needed one too.
Y
I also have two FJ's, but they are both just for me. I guess I'm a bit greedy with FJ's-lol. I have an 08', and I just picked up the same 13' Trail Team version, as above. My 08' has a 3" lift with nice 35" Mickey Thompson's. I love my new 13' FJ, but it looks so much smaller sitting next to my 08'. They are different beasts, while both have their buying points. My 08' has 210k miles, so I was lucky enough to find a loaded up 13' with only 63k miles. I know that I will be at least keeping the 13' til it hits a minimum of 250k. Fantastic vehicles, all around!!!
When’s the new FJ making it’s appearance?
Jeremy Robinette waiting for a transporter is all... COVID has put a damper on that sector as well. =\
Where did you get the front bull bar?
Rickyboyz 100 it came on the truck when I bought it used... I think you can buy it on amazon though. Tyger is the brand.
Mind if I ask what did you pay for this FJ? I've been on the fence in regards to buy the FJ or a brand new 4runner. My fear is due to all the flooding that has recently occurred throughout the country and water damage is a major concern.
I have a 2007 and my turn signal covers are nowhere near that kind of condition. They are actually pristine
These were spray painted with that stupid plasti-dip epoxy stuff to “tint” them... but it was obviously done several years ago so it didn’t age well.
Damn, I guess I got lucky with finding one for 5k afew months ago, blast being the 6spd awd version to except that damn throwout bearing noise lol
Nice man, congrats on the find
Previous owner Screwed You tail lights - - Geeezzz - - - Try one of those headlight cleaner kits.
A cerakote headlight kit will clear up the lenses and protect them. $25 for a kit. Did my wife's van 6 months ago and they look brand new. The van did take 2 kits.
Thanks for the tip, I'll likely do that here shortly. Appreciate it!
Untamed Motors you check if it peeps like Plasti dip?
randomkai definitely doesn’t peel. It’s been caked over for years now... hah
A 2012 trail teams with 60k miles is selling for $62k where I'm at...damn
Won’t sell for that… maybe $38-40zK
Hey Peanut!
Still a very beautiful big bad off roading smooth riding dream. And I love the cement color and the bull nose.
Oops am I stepping on toes? Ha ha. Ouuu I forgot this is a dislike vid.
How I hate or dislike . . . . . . . . ? Nope I love everything about my 2014 FJ Cruiser good bad and the ugly pillar.
breeze787 haha I absolutely love mine too! These rigs are perfect. 👌🏻
I know it sounds kind of weird, but it seems like Toyota are one of the few brands that buying new kind of make sens. (At least looking at what used FJ/Tacome/Thundra are selling for)
MPG? Not any worst than a Wrangler... which just so happen also be as aerodynamic as a barn building.
Agree, the bullbar got to go...
I completely agree. I am a huge advocate or specialty/limited production toyotas. TRD Pros are a wise investment imo. =] Great vehicle all around!
Love the FJ and can I have your dogs? lol
Thanks! Haha we can arrange that.
Would you recommend the FJ as a first car?
AC Supersport absolutely. They’re safe and reliable.
@@UntamedMotors ok, thanks. I'm currently looking at either a Frontier or the FJ as my first car.
AC Supersport nice. Both good options but FJ is better. =] gl
@@UntamedMotors thanks!
If my tundra got 18mpg I’d be in heaven.
Hi have you seen the 2020 FJ Cruiser?
There is no 2020 FJ Cruiser. Do you know something the rest of the world is unaware of?
breeze787 oh I thought I seen it on some ad but I guess not I'm sorry.
@@veronicaserrato9827 Man I was hoping you knew something we didn't. Shucks! Would have love to see Toyota remaking of the FJ Cruiser again. They stopped making them in 2017 I bought the last FJ Cruisers made for the US in 2014. Till 2017 they were still making them for Australia, Japan & the Middle East.
breeze787 I apologize for the false statement
FJs are still produced, just no sold in the US. Check Toyota websites for the Middle East or Costa Rica. They are still pretty muche the same.
Why talk milage about a Great off roader ??? Don't buy an FJ for milage. Don't buy a yacht if You can't fuel it. Tip those backseat headrests down and open up Your visibility. I turn My head when I drive and see No problem with seeing who is along side. Nothing here so far is a problem. Glad mind is still worth More then I paid for it !!
FJ stopped US shipping in 2014 but Toyota continued to produce and ship them to Australia through 2016. Of course those had the steering on the other side ...
Still being sold in 2020 at Toyota dealerships across the Arabian peninsula. LHD.
Bruh I really hope didn’t actually name your daughter sonic
Anthony Jaselev I preferred Tails but I settled with Sonic... 😐
@@UntamedMotors is there a brother knuckles?
Jeremiah Johnson haha yup!
Looking to possibly move to wyoming from the communist Republic of California. A college student most likely going to attend university of wyoming is there anything I should prepare for either than the cold 😂
Also im looking into getting a jeep wrangler tj and am curious on if this would be good enough for the conditions of larmie country considering I live in So Cal and have little to no experience in snow.
30-38K?! Where? Now they’re going for 40K +
The used vehicle market is a much different animal now than it was when I took this video lol… much different.
Who cares
Obviously you. You clicked the video… thanks Gregory.
