    Justin, this has been one of the most interesting and informative RUclips series I've watched!! Alison and the Haggai people are great! You've been good about sharing parts costs with us but I'm wondering how much Haggai charges for use of the bay, tools and various help, if you don't mind sharing! Great videos, keep 'em coming!

    It's all coming together, sometimes you have little setbacks that add time and additional work. I'm really enjoying this series of videos, I was a auto mechanic for 40 years. There's always something new to learn when working on engines, I never worked on diesel engines though.

    a little trick i use to pre-lube the engine is a cheap pump up garden pressure sprayer with 5w/30 in it make sure you warm the oil up so its thinner you have to adapt a fitting to suit at the oil sender hole or return side of the oil filter use a grommet to seal it you can also use it for pre-filling your fuel side with diesel it should be good for 2 bar 10psi pressure good luck

    You should've bought a helicoil kit so you'd get the right tap to hopefully clean up that hole. It takes a special tap you won't find in any tap/die set or anyplace else. If that thing pulled the threads out you've got a bigger project ahead of you.

With meticulous maintenance and driving, looking at the internals of the ISX15 shows why it is the preferred engine(yes I know Series 60s and CATS are beasts too, but modern engines, this is it).

  • @nzutter

    I bet the video u post tonight it will be up and running. It's always good to have good friend's that has shop's where u can fix it and let u stay on the yard in the truck. A guy that has issues with his Semi was happy the final part came in today. And his wife was very happy it did. She took a bus down and Boss Lady picked her up friday evening. And he was happy seeing her. We own a motel near the company and we got them a room for the weekend free of charge for the service he did helping us with things around the shop. He helped me fetch a broken down cargo truck in the wrecker. Both him and his wife was happy getting the motel for the weekend. And we offered him to drive for us and he accepted and he will be starting next month when they move down here. Both was like u guy's are one big family. The guy said where he work's at there always yelling screaming cussing and throwing object's all over the place. And Boss lady she goes we are not like those idiot's on American Chopper. She said the only thing that will make me go off is lying cheating and stealing from me and my business. And she tap's me on the head and she goes this guy here has been with me for a very very long time he is like a son anybody hurt's him there dead. And she said that her twin son's and me served in Afghanistan along with another best friend all 3 died except me. And she looked at him and said if anybody teases or makes fun about it. Trust me u better hide before hell freezes over. I bet ur kid's will be happy when u get back home. Hope the video that u post the truck fires up and ur heading home.

    Instead of Vaseline, I use a rubber o-ring lubricant (specifically formulated for this task). I got it at a plumbing supply store, but it’s probably sold at hardware stores.

    • @aaronhall7740
      @aaronhall7740 2 года назад

      Vaseline does the same as rubber grease, they both swell the rubber a little to aid in sealing, ensures that the seal is lubed and doesn't bind up on the sealing surface.

    • @Harry-zz2oh
      @Harry-zz2oh 2 года назад

      @@aaronhall7740 Would Vaseline start to destroy the O ring? I would think it would since it is petroleum based.

    • @aaronhall7740
      @aaronhall7740 2 года назад

      Typically automotive o rings are made for petroleum based product resistance and I think you'll don't that that seal was probably nitrile rather than natural rubber. Even still natural rubber o rings would last a good amount of time with just a small smear of Vasiline. The excess would be pushed out ether side and melted into the oil, there would barely be a trace once it's had a few heat cycles.

    All that New stuff(which is great), But no new heat exchanger for the oil cooler. That's puzzling to me, I wouldn't want to warranty that inframe unless that was done too. Just thinking out loud.
