st - stitch
ch - chain
sl - slip stitches (I used it only in the very last row)
sc - single crochet
blsc - back loop single crochet
Row 0. Magic ring from 7 sc
Row 1. 2 blsc in 1 st (7 times)
Row 2. 2 blsc in 1 st, 1 blsc (7 times)
Row 3. 2 blsc in 1 st, 1 blsc, 1 blsc (7 times)
Row 4. 2 blsc in 1 st, 1 blsc, 1 blsc, 1 blsc (7 times)

Could I easily turn the handles into longer straps that can go over the shoulder? If so, what would the recommended amount of chains be? Even just an estimate! :D Love your pattern and tutorial and would love to make this for my sister for Christmas, but she prefers shoulder bags verse handbags.
Yes, you can make the straps longer. It is approx 60-80cm or longer if you want.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful pattern :) Before starting row 14 for the handles, did you flip the bag inside out? My direction doesnt like the same as yours when starting row 14...
The right side should be outside, the wrong side should be inside of the bag. If yours are opposite, yes, you need to flip it inside out.

You can use any bulky yarn but there will be not stiff like made by cord yarn.

You can make the bag bigger if you add more rows for the base. In the video I did 5 rows for base. This is the pattern:
Row 5: 2 blsc in 1 st, 1 blsc, 1 blsc, 1 blsc, 1 blsc (7 times)
And you can make it bigger if you add 1 more blsc to it, like this:
Row 6: 2 blsc in 1 st, 1 blsc, 1 blsc, 1 blsc, 1 blsc, 1 blsc (7 times)
Row 7: 2 blsc in 1 st, 1 blsc, 1 blsc, 1 blsc, 1 blsc, 1 blsc, 1 blsc (7 times)
