Grease: I use virgin hair fertilizer sometimes (like once or twice a month). Otherwise I use my own infused oil.
Scalp: super healthy. Use fingers to exfoliate scalp when washing; occasionally use my battery operated scalp massager during the week.
Shampoo: homemade African black soap shampoo. Scalp and hair love it. I can even detangle with it. I also clay wash--i alternate using shampoo or clay wash according to how the hurr is looking/feeling.
P.S. I'm a henna girl too! I do a full treatment once every 4-8 weeks, and glosses in between when the mood strikes. Black rice water too!

I don’t use grease because I don’t use any sealant really. When my hair dries out I hop in the shower. I use ACV as a detangler and then follow up with conditioner and style my hair wet and t-shirt dry overnight.
Every weekend I clarify with castle soap. Technically sulfate-free but it cleans like a sulfate-I like a clean slate to work with.
Because I wet my hair so often (even when i protective style), my scalp is really balanced. I haven’t had dandruff since going natural.

Put the plastic bag for 30 min to an hour and rinse out followed by a deep conditioning treatment. (Gelatin has protein in it) I guess she uses it for a protein treatment. She is 80 years old. I've been natural for almost 14 years and no shampoo cleanses my scalp better than Nizoral. I have SD, and I've used it since my hair was relaxed. I also like using clay mixed with strongly brewed hibiscus tea. Both methods keep my scalp calm. I don't use a lot of products in my hair because of my scalp and because I'm cheap. Medicated shampoo/clay & tea, deep conditioner, water, shea butter or grease (depending on which I have in the house) make up my entire stash. I know this works for me because I've grown my hair to hip length before I cut it off a couple of years ago. It's back to bra strap length now. My scalp likes to be stripped and my hair likes to be left alone. So I try to stay consistent with that.

Thanks for sharing and you are so right about hair grease (Blue Magic). This has been my second big chop within 4 years and the answer had been in my face. I have tried everything from black rice water too onion juice, which both work, but if you don't have the right sealant you can kiss length retention goodbye. Went back to my childhood basic with my very sensitive scalp and it's a whole new game. Once I embraced the hair I was horned with I started to see changes very fast. Ladies your hair really is your crown and glory and you should treat it as so. For the ones who know that you hair don't care for daily malpication, try wearing wigs to change up your look your hair will thank you. When I started my natural hair jounary I was not mentally or emotionally perpared, but I'm a quick learner. You will get to know you better or meet yourself for the first time.😃. Either way I wish you the best on your jounary.Be blessed.

    Hair Grease Decision:
I grew tired of oils running from my scalp and down my already oily face. NOTE: Wild Growth Oil doesn’t run, but I only use this for scalp massages now.
    Sulfate Shampoo:
My scalp felt cleaner to me after using a sulfate shampoo. My hair is flourishing, so these decisions are best for me. LOVE the positive affirmations tip! You cannot pray for longer, healthier hair in one breath and speak death to your hair in the next breath: “My hair is healthy and grows quickly!”

Naptually Beautiful Hi! Wild Growth Oil did not cause headaches for me (maybe the smell caused people to have headaches, but I actually like the medicinal smell). The only side effect that I can agree with is the itchy scalp. This didn’t occur for me the first month of use, but did occur the second month of use for about two weeks then subsided. Follow the instructions on the bottle (some people are extra-always doing everything outside of the directions). Good luck!

I'm just watching because you have awesome hair. I won't use hair grease because my hair is fine 4a and grease and I have never been friends. But I've always felt that it should work to seal the ends.
I oil massage my scalp with Babassu/coconut oil mixture daily. Conditioner is for hair not the scalp. I also moisturize everyday (aloe vera juice) if I do wash-in-go because I'm high porosity. If I do a blow-out then just twice a week.

Great video! I would like to see your cornrow pattern. How long do you leave in your braids? I protective style 100% of the time. I workout 5 days a week and gym sweat hair is the worst to manage. I take down my rows for my weekly shampoo and d/c and blow dry stretch and braid it up again.

If you gym everyday you should be rinsing your hair with hair after each session at least. Sweat will dry out your hair along with your "protective style".

I alternate between clay washes and a swimmers shampoo to get hard water, chlorine and salt off my scalp and hair. I live in Arizona....so I have extremely hard water with lots of chlorine in it. Also, the air is extremely dry 98% of the year(0 to 5% moisture in the air). Even though there is Monsoon season(3 days to 2 weeks......if we're lucky), it does not make up for the extreme dryness from the rest of the year. I'm not even going to mention 117 degree weather in the summer months and the serious need for sunblock to protect your skin.....yeah! Anyway, when I clay wash, I use a moisturizing conditioner after. When I shampoo, I use a protein/moisturizing conditioner afterwards. I don't oil my scalp because it will get itchy and inflamed.

I live in Arizona too so I know exactly what your talking about. I think ima get a shower filter to help with the hard water we have

I love hair grease though, I feel it keeps my style better😁... my is prone to dryness (high porosity) because of this, I use a sulphate free shampoo (a year now) but, I used to use sulphate shampoo. I changed it just for moisture retention...

I feel you! Sulphates STRIP but I love my sulfates at this point 😂❤️. Maybe I should experiment with Castile soap?? I used to use that exclusively.

Back in the day my gran used to sit me down between her legs & grease my hair with blue magic I've got grandkids now & doing it now to them.
Hair grease is the best thing for natural 4c hair in fact for all type hair just use less for finer,
    Love your channel beautiful lady🤗
