One of the worst places you can be during a thunderstorm is on the beach. I live in Florida, and I hear about people getting struck by lightning 🌩 quite a bit
Beautiful. That is Heaven to me. The wind, waves, dark sky, thunder and lightning. Thank you so much for sharing this video with us. God Bless you and yours. Please stay safe.
I used to live in Cape Coral, Florida about twenty years ago and thunderstorms in Florida are no joke and not fun. I moved to Alberta, Canada and it’s like night and day. People take for granted the power of thunderstorms when it comes to heat and intensity. I am surprised anyone wants to be on the beach during a thunderstorm. I have heard a lightning bolt can stretch for miles even beyond the clouds themselves. Definitely something that gives me anxiety
I know some parts of Alberta are amazing for their natural beauty. It was a joy to see Canada. I really love the storms. Nothing like unloading a trailer full of soggy construction demolition by hand in one of these at the fort myers facility. yup.. glad its just a Camera today.
You moved to Alberta from Florida and I recently moved to Florida from Alberta! The storms are beautiful and intense here but Alberta has some intense weather as well. I love the storms but the tornados up there scare me! No warning and I lived very close to the big one that hit Edmonton in 1987. Hope you are enjoying AB. I miss the mountains! That’s my paradise.
@@sammarks2177 That’s a hilarious coincidence. It’s interesting that you mentioned Edmonton and the big one that hit because I actually live in Edmonton…lol Fortunately. I haven’t had to see any tornadoes over the last twenty years thank goodness. Tornadoes for me are the worst weather phenomenon to be in and the big one that hit Edmonton was massive. The lightning scares me even here in Edmonton because nature can be unpredictable but people tend to not be concerned and complacent. I certainly don’t miss the hurricane season that’s for sure. Unfortunately, my circumstances limit me to being only able to travel in Edmonton so I have only seen pictures and videos of the natural beauty that Alberta offers.
I have fear thunderstorms I have phobia. Might want to visit Florida but I don't think I want to live there due to their heavy thunderstorms hurricanes I think dealing with Canada thunderstorms are enough for me. Florida thunderstorm seem stronger than Canada's ....? You think I'm lucky I live in Canada? And not Florida ?
I know someone who witnessed an autopsy of a person killed by a lightning strike on a beach. They said the heart and lungs looked like a steak left on a grill for an hour.
This was wonderful footage. I’ve seen this kind of an occurrence both in South Florida and here at the New Jersey shore many times over the years Nothing feels quite as elemental as the clash of sky and sea especially in moments like this… I very much enjoyed this - thanks for posting and be well
Its kinda scary but beautiful. I was in Florida for vacation one time and we went to the beach and it was raining and sand his us hard it hurt! But then shortly after the storm stopped and it was worth the view. The teal ocean and strong waves with the dark and stormy clouds right above it and clearing up on the other side. But the most concerning part about those storms is not only the rip tides or strong currents and waves but the lightening strikes and the strong winds. Not to mention the sand hitting you in the face and eyes. And the heavy rain making it hard to see where you are going. Scary.but for some reason there is something so calm about it. Seeing the storm clouds and lightening right in front of you and the wind blowing
I encountered a Thunderstorm on a Florida Beach last year and it was terrifying. Plus the strong wind makes it more terrifying. I been to Florida at least 5 times from when I was a kid to growing up and I have never encountered a Thunderstorm on the Florida beach before until last year. It was amazing and a scary encounter.
Honestly I LOVE THIS type of weather. It's truly beauty as it's best.. shoot but don't stay on the sand AFTER the rain cuz u will be attacked by noseeums/sand fleas.. 😖 TRUST ME I learned my lesson 💯
There's clearly lightning I find it nuts people are still near the water. I'm thinking get away from the water. Cuz I think Florida thunderstorms are dangerous I live in Canada. Florida thunderstorm seems stronger than Canada's are they?
Beautiful storm !! It is only a few miles away and everyone on the beach is fair game to get blasted by lightning. In upstate NY, three State Policeman were struck while standing outdoors when the storm was 13 miles away. It was a very hot bright sunny day and you could barely see the top of the thunderhead. One little bolt can ruin your whole day.
Those people are crazy that stood on the beach. They were asking for trouble when I grew up as a beach goer, we were taught as soon as you see or hear thunder or lightning from a distance. Get the hell off the beach. 🏖️ When lightning hits it is terrifying especially when it’s close. I witness that myself when I was outside on my porch and I think lightning hit a couple streets down from me and let me tell you. It was so loud that it set off everybody’s car alarms around the area.
When we visit the naples fort myers area there usually at least one storm like this!! Everyone seems use to them and find shelter !! I find them pretty awesome and its just part of living in that area!
Coming back a very very long walk got caught in the storms. It feels like you’re being sandblasted. where do you go to get out of it under a tree? And then no lightning set on a beach. Enjoy the rain it’s awesome. Also, when the people are running, they drop all kinds of stuff on the beach you’re gonna find.
I've lived here all my life. I've always had a boat. Imagine getting caught in that out on the water? It sucks! Those people on the beach in this video are a prime candidate for getting hit by lightning.
Oh I've been caught in a many thunder storms on rivers in summer, there was one in particular when I was younger that between my dad which was looking straight ahead, me to the east and sister to the west we counted 79 strikes and that's just what we saw crazy shit we hauled ass to the dock lol

Actually it was two mesocyclone storms side by side. Just slightly more powerful than our 'regular' Florida thunderstorms. These are ALWAYS full of high winds, extreme lightening, waterspouts offshore, and tornadoes while in the mid-west part of America-and sometimes in Florida. It's almost a given 9 out of 10 times with these compared to our regular flat front storms. I'm sitting here now listening to storms coming ashore that are splitting me, but have the place rocking with constant distance thunder from the south and north.
