The Strongest Tornado I've EVER Seen - March 31, 2023 Tornado Outbreak
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 28 июл 2023
- A well anticipated tornado outbreak occurred on March 31, 2023. I saw two huge tornadoes in southeastern Iowa, from Hedrick to Keota. Both tornadoes were capable of catastrophic damage but did not kill anyone.
These tornadoes were part of the third largest tornado outbreak on record.
What I like about this video....no screaming like another storm chaser....quiet, confident, on top of the situation.
@apstrad "BACK UPPPPPP!! Hornets! WE'VE GOT HORNETS!! VIOLENT HORNETS IN THE CAR. VIOLENT HORNETS STINGING THE INSIDE OF MY MOUTH!!"
You said it!
I was just thinking how quiet this video is compared to those by a certain “Dominating” storm chaser
@@RobertGreenwald Pecos Hank is another chaser that is amazing, quiet, knowledgable, gutsy. The d
'dominating one" seems to be more inclined to let his ego get in the way.
The D team leader is probably prone to screaming and manic excitement because sometimes I noticed his eyes are unusually red. No big deal in this day and age. Ya gotta have balls to smoke a blunt while chasing monsters.
Beautiful and terrifying all at once. I really appreciate that you don't distract from the video with needless commentary, let alone any yelling or dramatic exclamations. Very well done sir.
Exactly!
No non-stop useless and annoying chatter, no screaming drama queens or kings, no bottom end video from an antique Iphone. He did a very good job on framing the action with a quality video unit. This guy is going places....like to Iowa.!! Yay Hawkeyes!!
Great comment I was thinking the same thing thank you Aloha I hope you are doing well
WHATS WRONG WITH YELLING BRO
Agreed. Some of the people who post tornadoes are stupid as fuck too. Someone posted a video of an EF4 and the video was the poster and his stupid family frantically screaming and running around inside the fucking house until the last minute when all the lights went out and the windows blew. Sometimes they deserve to get what they get just for being that stupid and posting a video of being in harms way just for clicks and views. There's no excuse as to why they shouldn't have gone into a shelter when they knew the tornado was that close. And they knew cuz people were frantically screaming all over the place and the wind was already strong and beating on their house all video til that point.
One of the most impressive tornado when it comes to structure you can even see the wall cloud is rotating which shows the raw power this tornado had glad no one was hurt in this particular tornado.
Positively terrifying! I do appreciate the quiet, the lack of chatter during this entire video as it allows the novice viewer to avoid being distracted and to discern the full impact of what they are viewing.
You deserve way more subscribers. It’s really nice to watch a storm chaser who isn’t constantly shouting at the sky. Your narration and filming is amazing. I really enjoy watching your channel.
Thank you!
Love storm chasers God bless and protect them
not sure what those clowns are thinking. then when they add the stupid ass music over the top of that. since when is it about the person & not the storm
Great footage. Dark tornados always look more ominous. This footage reminds me of some of the footage from Alabama during the 2011 super outbreak. The person filming it was pretty far away yet the tornado was huge, dark and looming over the entire area. Still gives me chills.
That was terrifying in Alabama, 2011. Lost a childhood friend that day when a tree fell through her house.
You should have seen the one that hit Cordova Alabama during the 2011 outbreak in Bama. One guy filmed the tornado from Dora Alabama approximately 6 miles from Cordova. It looked absolutely terrifying. A monster tornado. It was classified as an EF4, but the shear size of it, it liked like an EF11. And yes, I’m aware the rating only goes up to EF5 and the rating goes by wind speed not by size. One guy filmed it from Jasper Alabama a little further away, about 9 miles. It still looked monstrous. Sadly, that tornado killed several people as it was a long track tornado staying on the ground for several miles. 4 fatalities in the small town of Cordova alone. And to make the story more horrifying for our community, it was the second time Cordova was hit by a tornado that day. A small one in the early morning. Then the killer in the afternoon!

Great footage this was terrifying. Glad to hear that it missed two towns and no one was killed that is great. Keep up the great work!!!
Great job Spencer.... No screaming like an immature kid just letting the cinematography speak for itself.... Great job again Sir!
"No screaming like an immature kid just "
LOL and what if he was screaming what would be wrong with that?
@@romeobond8473 Oh do grow up and stop being so obnoxious . . .
Some of them do sound like they're calling the Kentucky Derby...🐎🌪
@@TRPGpilot Shut up, the obnoxious one is you.
It sure is nice to watch a tornado video without someone yelling "TORNADO" all through the video. Thanks for the cool chill vid.
Or, "MULTIPLE VORTICES...MULTIPLE VORTICES...repeat..."
It’s like u can fascinate it more
Big big wedge! Huge wedge!
I think we're all thinking of the same needlessly loud chaser...
It's on the ground! It's on the ground! 😅
You know it’s going to be bad when you see inky-black clouds - especially in conjunction with the other colors from the disaster palette. You caught some amazing footage - thanks for doing such a nice job and sharing it with us.
This is a great video capture of some beautiful structure. The racing clouds against the bleak early spring fields are amazing.
Magnificent!! Great presentation with no redundant hollering, talking or foul language. Thank you for being professional!
Absolutely some of the best wall cloud footage I've seen! The contrast in color, and the incredible motion and shape of the wall clouds was more impressive than the tornados! Great job!
This is one of my favorite tornadoes ever recorded as far as being super photogenic and well structured. Glad to see a new video on it
I'll say his name "Reed" So annoying!
Very well done! Simple, straight forward message, no frills, but explained answers to questions the audience would have, and demonstrated as it came together. Loved the footage showing the train.
I chased storms for 20yrs and I have to say, a tornado that large with that much power grabs ur attention and keeps it. Awesome video
Best videography capturing a tornado I've seen in awhile. Nice work, Spencer. A magnificent storm for sure. I subscribed. Cheers.
Beautifully done! Almost cinematic - and no constant screaming. Love it!
That’s probably the scariest looking tornado I’ve seen. The speed of the mesocyclone was insane, it’s almost like El Reno 2013’s more photogenic twin.
Tuscaluosa AL was ugly too.
No music, shouting or unnecessary commentary. Just spectacular footage, allowed to breathe and speak for itself. Awe inspiring storm.
Ive been watching tornado footage since the vhs days of the early 90s and this might be the scariest looking storm ive ever seen. Great footage!
That's what I'm saying, this is an absolute monster of a storm, and this video is the first I'm hearing of it. I feel like maybe it's not drawing as much interest as, say, El Reno, Moore, Etc, because it didn't cause any destruction or deaths? To me, this storm is up there with the other big dirty evil monsters of storms that should be studied, remembered and revered in the books of history, and the footage is phenomenal
Terrifying! It looks like the monster EF5 from the end of Twister just without the CGI.
That tornado specifically reminds me of the one from "Twister," the shape, form, movement. It's absolutely cinematic and breathtaking. Incredible.
Greetings from Australia, I have to say that is one of the most menacing weather events I’ve ever seen, also I commend you in putting your safety first. Well done Mate ⛈️🇦🇺
Great footage Spencer! The colors and shading were simply amazing!
This footage is legendary. Most of these storms are so huge, all you can see is the dust and mesocyclone. Safe to say Pecos Hank has a worthy rival in you
An incredible compliment, thank you ❤
Just subscribed. I like how you don’t become adrenaline raged and overly emotional. Video mainly quiet. I also like how you stay a safe distance away, thereby allowing so much more in your camera view. That may depend on your camera, but it is very alarming when so many raging chasers get way too close. Thank you for posting.
4:05 God, it has a striking resemblance to the El Reno, 2013 tornado.
2013 has to be the worst year on record when it came to tornadoes
@@pekkaknight04gd 2011 was pretty bad too. We had the 2 big outbreaks, including the April 27 super outbreak. Then we had the joplin tornado
Awesome footage man. Stay safe, you obviously know what you’re doing. I’m subscribed and can’t wait for more.
Absolutely stunning footage! Maybe even the clearest and best tornado video I've ever seen! 👏🏻 Subscribed 🙌🏻 Also because of the calmness, which helps me fall asleep when I've been too anxious all day! Thank you 🫶🏼
the wall cloud was so well defined.
Wow! You took amazing footage! I’ve never seen such a massive storm.
Gorgeous footage! Thanks for sharing it with us, and stay safe out there!
This storm seen from Toronto was crazy. On the highways, (freeways in America) it was nearly impossible to see more than 4 car lengths in front of you due to rain and mist.
We don’t really use the term freeway. We call them highways here in good ole’ America.
Usually only called "Interstate" if the road is part of the National Interstate System.
@@Happybidr I’m not American so I wouldn’t know! Lol
@@LuvBorderColliesNo one says “Interstate” either… just the letter “I” and the number of the Interstate (ex: I-95, I-76, etc )… or Highway…
Awesome videography!
Glad no people were hurt from this storm.
Be safe in all your chases and documentaries.
Great video! I live in northern Illinois and I remember watching all the radar of not only this storm, but others that day.
Spencer, I just ran across your channel, and I immediately subbed! You have some of the most amazing footage I have seen, and it’s right up there with Pecos Hank! I like your low key style, and the fact that you’re not one of those screaming banshees! That’s the one thing that irritates me, and most weather freaks in the Boomer generation! Yes I’m getting up in yrs, but the majority of the largest generation really have been awakened since Tornado Videography began! Some of the reckless chasers are actually working on or have a degree in Meteorology, others who actually have an understanding of Tornadoes prove to be much more thorough and have a great communication with both humans and nature! Keep it up‼️🎯😎
What gorgeous monsters -- and you kept your composure, too. Well done. Stay safe.
Absolutely INCREDIBLE! Sure enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your experience and bravery.
Having lived through the July 19, 2018 F-3 tornado in Marshalltown, Iowa (and the 8-10-20 derecho), I find your footage with the train beginning at 6:45 (ish) particularly impactful. The contrast of controlled, measured movement against the backdrop of the storm is, well, moving. ;)
Outstanding job! I'm so glad no one was killed. Be safe, brother!
We lived just north of Keota in my wife's family farm home. Grateful that no one was hurt and for everyone's help after the tornado. Her family lost part of there farm and the family house but everyone's ok. God bless for everyone and everything.
Amazing storm video! I've been watching storm video for over 25 years and this is some of the best storm structure yet! Great job,
You my friend just earned a sub, I Love this video keep up the good work :)
I can't believe you sat on this footage for four months! This is incredible!
5:08 - You’re not kidding!!!! That storm motion looks more intense than anything I’ve seen as well!!! Holy moly! Extremely photogenic Storm as well… not sure if it’s just the way the storm contrasts with the Iowa landscape or what it is exactly… but it makes for incredible images / video for sure!
I live in Iowa and remember this. It was quite a day! Great video!
AWESOME!!! Thanks for the video!!! Be safe out there!! I subbed!!!!!
ive watched thousands of tornado clips and yours is right up among the best ever for overall awe factor and ferocious / evil looks. Amazing job. Congrats!
Wow ! Great job man !
I have never seen a tornado, but I'm fascinated with weather. I love the contrasting colors in storms. That thing looks amazing in a beautiful and terrifying way.
Same I would go outside to see one if I could
Amazing and Scury at the same time. That first one was a beast.
Man, I would go on a storm chase with you. This looks incredible
Amazing footage. Great work.
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Some of the best footage I’ve ever seen! Very well done!
Some very impressive sequences! Glad you kept your distance!
Surreal. With the excellent lighting, I am assuming you were on the west side of these two tornados. Great camera work. Thank you.
Looks very much like the tornado out of Twister. Incredible footage!
Beautiful catch brother. Love seeing them away from structures.
Awesome footage, man! Thanks for sharing! And thanks for keeping it clean!
Fantastic images, great job. Definitely some of the most ominous outer movement I've seen anywhere, displaying incredible power without striking any structures. Good thing it missed all of the cities & towns. This one was very scary to look at, yet so beautiful at the same time.
I live in central Oklahoma and we are up to our ears in storm chasers but I gotta say- this is some of the most majestic, beautiful footage I have ever seen. I love the contrast against the fields, as well as the quiet of your environment despite you literally chasing pure havoc. Great catch, well done!
One beautiful storm. Great video!
We received this storm front in Brodhead Wi around 7 cst. I've seen a few storms around here in my last 70 years - this one beat the front from August 1965. 100 mph then, 100 mph March 31. Scared the hell out of both of us.
This system was absolutely destructive from North to South. We lost our house that day in a EF-3 that measured 1.5 miles across. The carnage was indescribable. We were under 6 different tornado warnings that afternoon as the system trained through. Thankfully the others were either minimal in scale or non-confirmed, but it was a crazy day to say the least.
This is some fabulous footage Thank you.
Fascinating and eerie.
I don't know if anyone has commented on this yet but the various pitches and volume levels of machine whirs and deep drones coming from the interior of your vehicle, interjected at times with pure peace and quiet, is just beautiful with these images.
Well done! I really like your quiet. Gorgeous glorious storms. I wanted to lingers and enjoy some of the scenes, but I understand you have to keep abreast of the storm. Good job. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! Ominous and beautiful at the same time. I got chills. Great footage!
A× bravo. Best footage ever
Amazing footage, Thank you for not screaming as other chasers do. 😗
I have lived in SE Iowa all my life and I occasionally go storm chasing. I was just south on another storm and headed north after I noticed intense rotation near Hendrick, so I drove north. Unfortunately I was a mere 15 minutes late to the tornado but the damage path I won't forget. Just 25 miles from home and this monster strikes.
Now this is how you storm chase from a safe distance! Job well done 👍
That is beautiful footage of a monstrous tornado. Thank you so very much for that!
Good work on this one, Spencer!
I was born and raised in Eastern Iowa, near Maquoketa. I've been through 2 tornadoes there, but this one is MASSIVE! 😮
Your videos are awesome. I really enjoy watching them. Thanks
Stunning event and video - and worth the drive, I'm sure! Thank you for sharing this!
Well done sir! Great footage, no BS!!
Great storm / tornado footage ⛈️🌪️🌪️Thanks for sharing
MAN that's a big tornado. Great footage!
Simply beautiful footage! 😮 I was in a trance watching this video. Well done with the capture and presentation.
Well, that's terrifying 😮
Yes , From such a monster EF5 only a strong shelter can save a man .
Super footage. That was a churning monster. Great formation 👏
Thanks for sharing, remember seeing warnings about it on KWWL. I am in Waterloo Iowa.
This just popped up on my home page and yours is the first video I can stand to watch. That area is my home. I’ve been a spotter for years and was out of town then. To know literally every home, farm and town in the path of that puts a completely different view on spotting. And then to hear other chasers were saying things like “At least a lot of people don’t live here” changed my mindset on even spotting. Somehow it missed all of our little towns.. Hedrick, Farson, Ollie, Martinsburg, Keota and Wellman were all spared a direct hit somehow and most importantly, no lives were lost. Thank you for a respectful video!
thankk you, great documentation
Amazing footage. What is crazy is this one is small in comparison to the size of some of our largest f5s and this is about the size of the one that was on the movie twister. I dont mean that to take away anything from this storm. Its a thing of nightmares.
Impressive storm, it looks like the video is sped up... it's crazy. Really enjoyed watching this without ALL the yelling, great job! Definitely subscribed and look forward to seeing more of your content.
good work Spencer. incredible mean looking clouds. fun to watch when it misses everything and no one killed.
This is the storm.. saw a video by Millennial Farmer, he drove all the way to around the border of Missouri/illinois/iowa border, Illinois side, and him and a nonprofit organization called Farm Rescue, help this farmer who lost EVERYTHING due to a tornado
It hit his farm because the government targeted it they want all food gone
I am glad people think to help thec farmer. Land is no longer enough. Without equipment the farm woukd be lost.

Pretty wild looking storm. Great video footage.
Great video ! Wonderfully shot and rendered .....
Great footage! A near perfect Mesocyclone, amazing quality thanks for this!
Excellent video. It definitely takes restraint to not be over excited in those situations
That is a beautiful cloud formation, majestic. Nature is amazing and treacherous, simultaneously. Great video piecemealing. Short, stable clips for the most part. Keep it up!
Excellent footage! That thing was a beast.
This was the night an EF2 hit my area at 10:47p in indiana
Outstanding footage!!
damn this is underrated- keep up the good work
