If I recall correctly you can use any usb-cable. But tbh I've never used one because the keyboard is usb powered - I've connected it to a powered hub and works fine without an additional power supply.
A powered hub has a separate power supply that you plug into your electrical outlet, if yours doesn't, then it's not powered. Any USB 3 powered hub should work. But since the keyboard comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable, you're better off with a USB-C hub. Or if it's a regular USB hub you have to also get a USB-C to USB-A adapter to connect the keyboard.

I don't think it's worthy for upgrade (nor even for a new buy, because the mkII is not too far second than this MkIII, and the MkII prices naturally will get down a bit made them a more sexy option, and, also, other brands like Arturia etc has lower prices as competitors with even more practical capabilities). However NI already has big name/special places with this series of keyboard because we see it being chosen and used by so many professionals, as we can see on many videos on RUclips, and they are indeed an excellent controller keyboard. Um yeah, most people that use Komplete Kontrol keyboards actually make music in their DAW with plugins, so it makes sense to prioritize this. @@mjrisinsd6836 It's quite obvious they are not going to make it with more features and cheaper than it is atm. Another poly aftetouch keyboard was just released - Korg Keystage and it's not that much cheaper without the big display and NKS functionality. The Roland Fantom 0 is quite a bit more expensive here in Europe and the keys are just basic synth-action keys, it's an apples to oranges comparison. You will have to use the Komplete Kontrol plugin to load NKS instruments. But of course it will also work as a basic MIDI keyboard with any VST, we're talking about the advanced integration here.
Chords mode:does it work with Ableton?
Yes but not without the Komplete Kontrol plugin yet.
Thanks@@LowHeatBeats
Can we use Kontrol MK3 without Laptop ??
No, you need a computer.
@@LowHeatBeats Thank you.
the price is too high
True but are there any keyboards with Fatar keys for less? I think the keybed is one the main factors behind the high price, like in the previous version.
Well i would be happy if the lets say 61key version would be 700 bucks instead if 850€....
But they look very solid build...have great glass screen, interface, alluminium faders, poly at and a great fatar keys...still best ones outthere...
The price is fine
But they should give custumers who already have their software give an extra discount at least 50 bucks
@@LowHeatBeatsYes, the Komplete control MK2 😂
@@aro7975 Sure, if you can still get an MK2 at a discounted price it’s still worth it, as it’s a well-built controller with great keys.
@@LowHeatBeatsLol, yeah there is have you heard of the Studiologic Studio series and the Grand which has Fatar, Arturia also has Fatar Keybed
if they just make the screen touch screen
Maschine mk4?
I don't think so, at least not this year.
It is what it is man, just keep on making music with what you have.
@@RealliedoeTell that to maschine + users
@@RealliedoeBro, this company is on its way out. They have no innovation or passion anymore. They abandoned the plus, maschine 2.0 cam out over a decade ago, no word on an update. And they just recycle samples and sell them as new packs, along with gimmicky vsts. They’re done.
Hm....i think they release mashine also this year so that they have a clean new line up...even their mk3 88 key version is out this year ..last timebthey released it 1 year later
Nope! I will not purchase it. I have the Komplete S61 for $700, and after having it for seven months, the value was $125.00 to sell it back to Guitar Center. I got more cash back from Guitar Center for my Nektar Panorama P6 61.
You'll be fine with the S61 Mk2 for a while, it's still a great keyboard.
Perhaps I can say that this NI Kontrol is like how people see Mac, or UA Apollo interfaces. Some will say that it's the best, the standard of the best/good device in studio (although not necessarily for all their aspect nor for everyone (especially not for those on budget)
Fair points! The MK2 is a great deal right now, the prices are really low. And yes, I would say it's a high end product made for professionals. For hobbyists it's a luxury, so it's not for everyone. You can get by with a cheaper keyboard, even NI's own A-series are good enough for most people and way cheaper.
I appreciate how you always take time to personally response to any comments on your video. I subscribe to your channel because of that. I hope your channel and videos will be successful and useful fo all. BTW are you from Philipines? Warm hello from Indonesia@@LowHeatBeats
Thank you, I appreciate it! I'm from Bulgaria btw.
I aint buying if they took Maschine integration out. Why take away a product of your own. NI is just going backwards.
As far as I understood, their usage data analytics showed that few people actually use that integration, so it was not a priority to implement on this new platform. This doesn't mean that it will never be implemented.
@LowHeatBeats I wonder where they are getting their data analytics about integration usage? How would they know every person is pressing or not pressing the buttons unless they get their statistics information from the top known reviewers and not the community? I know thousand will be disappointed!
@@davidbueso3840it is a lie imo. A ridiculous one at that. Every video comments section is full of disappointed Maschine users. The new board is the exact same layout as the MK2 but with one less screen and fewer buttons. I would bet these choices were cost savings measures above all else. It’s the most obvious answer to me anyways.
Not for Maschine and not a stand alone? 🤣😂
Um yeah, most people that use Komplete Kontrol keyboards actually make music in their DAW with plugins, so it makes sense to prioritize this. That doesn't mean that Maschine support won't ever be implemented. As for standalone, who knows. It may happen some day, but it would probably be very expensive and only run NI plugins. At this point a computer is cheaper and better.
@@LowHeatBeats yea but if you’re making music in your DAW you’re probably not going to fork out $800 for a midi keyboard that only show pretty graphics for NI products that you have to drop another… at least $500 ( Komplete 14 Standard price) to purchase. If they were gonna go this route and focus on DAW control then they should make DAW plug ins look just as pretty on the screen.
Wtf is fomo?
Fear of missing out.
Thing is ugly. Look at all that wasted space. This company can’t do anything right. Zero customer service too, they don’t give a shit about their customers.
I’ve seen the wasted space argument a lot. Would you pay an even higher price if they filled it up with pads and faders? The keyboard is already quite expensive.
Komplete + standalone I would be would cost $2500 if they release one
Some say wasted space some say clean look...
They keyboard already is quit expensive
I think its a great release and this key looks well build and line a workhorse plus far away from ugly ^^
@@LowHeatBeatswhy does it have to be more expensive to have the same features competitor products have at lower prices? And please do not ask me for examples…the Roland Fantom 0 is similarly priced with more features.
And no other keyboard has the integration with the NI ecosystem and NKS, so it's really hard to compare it to anything else. If you don't need that just get something else, there are so many good products on the market.
