      Cocaine addiction is nothing compared to hardcore opioids. Stimulants can't make you phisically addicted, opiates/opioids and benzodiazepines...these are only drugs that you cannot live without if you get into them and only solution is long term reduction of dosage.
      Seriously, hard drugs are not made for soft men.

      @@zephyrwinkle6552 it’s logical to a certain extent, we can’t let potential psychopaths and addicts go to work on whatever they want, psychedelics etc, that would just be chaotic. I agree a lot of things should be regulated, but not everything should just be given to people on a plate. Powerful stuff out there and some really bent minds, not a good gamble.

      @Wabs I agree and I am talking about responsible use. Just like most people practice with alcohol. I think we will disagree, though, that everything shouldn't be offered up on a plate. I'd be interested in continuing our discussion; however... my stance would be personal use amounts of substances provided by pharmacists who also can provide counseling services for addiction issues if a person can't maintain a healthy lifestyle or hold a job.

    I've used world war 1 morphine before and it's good shit. My grandfather was a collector, and when he died, while going through his stuff I found a small field injection kit that contained vials of 1/4 grain tablets of scopolamine, morphine, and one other that I can't recall. Being the irresponsible drug addict I was at the time, I of course used the antique narcotic. Too my surprise, it had lost very little of it's potency despite being nearly 100 years old.
    Note: Do not take this as me being in favor of the recreational use of opiates. Addiction is a horrible disease and every day I go without using again is a blessing. If you are currently suffering, please get help. Addicts are fortunate today that there are so many more resources out there now besides the Anonymous programs. If you are really having trouble stopping, please ignore the stigma and consider maintenance therapy. And if you have already gotten clean, don't use no matter what. I'm getting so sick of people I know dying from this disease.
    P.S. My trip report is on erowid if anyone would like to read it.

    “Soothing Syrup” was a term used for children’s morphine tinctures. And you can see why, mothers with multiple kids and an infant teething would love the soothing effects of morphia, just as now mothers use melatonin and Benadryl as artificial aids to get children soothed and quiet. After all, once you are born, life is pretty uncomfortable. It’s bright, it’s loud, it’s cold, and you start cutting teeth and having to use your stomach and intestines to get nourishment. It’s effing awful! Not to mention once you start having to defecate! Peeing is effortless.

      Except those parents who use melatonin and benadryl to "soothe" their children are usually abusing it. Benadryl is to calm histamine, not for sleep. Using it for sleep on children is abusing the drug. Melatonin is only for sleep, but I've seen an increase in mothers switching their children's gummies with melatonin ones during the day, which is abusing the drug. Doesn't make it right just because people use different things now.

People who had issues with things were treated as if it were a medical condition. When drugs had a stigma attached and were made illegal is when we as a society began to have massive issues with drugs as a whole. It's also that people with addictions were suddenly treated as criminals rather than patients.

However legit drugs made by companies with standards, reputations to uphold and the threat of litigation should the drug companies do any of the multitude of things black market dealers do would not happen as it's an unneccessary risk and threat to thier profitablility. Also it'd go a very long way to reduce drug deaths and related injuries. Me saying what i did about meth may get people to believe i would believe different but i do agree drug prohibition has caused far more harm death than the drugs themselves ever did. People crave more for what they cannot have. and it should be an individual choice though many lack the ability to make good choices.

    • @DissociatedWomenIncorporated
      @DissociatedWomenIncorporated 2 года назад

      @@russellmiller6023 it’s not even like there isn’t a middle ground. Portugal decriminalised possession of all drugs for personal use but that doesn’t make them Amsterdam-like pseudolegal, they can still confiscate the drugs and while you can’t be jailed you _can_ be ordered into addiction rehabilitation courses by the court. They treat it as a public health problem, not a criminal problem. Now I do personally believe that drug use should be a personal choice so I don’t _100%_ agree with Portugal’s approach, but A) they have a far lower rate of drug related problems like overdosing, and B) it’s not like the only alternative to a “war on drugs” is “socialist free heroin for every schoolchild”.

    the most vivid dream Ive ever had was about WW1 it started with me waking up in the trench then no less then 15 seconds later the whistle blew and everyone jumped up so I followed and ran what felt like a quarter miles through artillery and bullets coming from left and right then when I got to the other trench I shot a few guys and stabbed a guy with my bayonet into a tree stump and the gun got stuck then I looked up and artillery hit in front of me and then everything went black I woke up gasping for air. it was way to surreal.

    FYI, "permanent ink" is actually just called "ink", haha. Interesting vid, though, as with all your videos, I do wish you'd run the photos past *someone who can clearly tell a WWI from a WWII photo... and in several instances, the Germans and the Allies. As with all your other videos, they're once again hopelessly mixed up. Even worse, you insultingly show a photo of American volunteer Anna Coleman Ladd at 08:18 and refer to her as a "paid escort" (so, prostitute, yes?) who knowingly funneled addictive drugs to fighting soldiers, adding that it was "well publicized". While that may be true, the photo you chose was of the famous American Red Cross volunteer Anna Coleman Ladd. Ladd was horrified by the many facial injuries suffered by frontline troops, and pioneered the making of tin masks, hand-painted to match the veteran's skin tone. The French soldier next to her in your photo has NO lower jaw... he's wearing one of her tin masks, decorated with a faux mustache (and often glasses) to make it look less obvious. Until the advent of plastic surgery, these tin masks were the only things that gave veterans with horrific facial wounds a slight sense of dignity, in that children wouldn't run screaming in terror when they met them. Prolly cut down on the veteran suicide rate as well. I realize you were probably just inserting what you thought was a random woman to illustrate a point, but it's extremely unfortunate for this supposed "history" video that you chose the Florence Nightingale of the Great War to label of drug-pushing prostitute. And again, SOMEONE should have noticed this in the editing phase. Even kids who play Call of Duty would catch 90% of these mistakes in your videos.
