Tbh I've been playing a good amount of hyper roll along with regulars on PBE. I mostly just use hyper roll to more efficiently test comps/synergies after the patches.

At one point chat talked about having a low chance to hit a threat hero augment because you were only fielding 1 threat. Are the hero augments linked to your current board?
It’s influenced by it, apparently. There’s something in the Set 8 overview about it.
And your bench to some degree. They want to make sure the hero augments help you especially when you get them past 2-1

Historically how good of an indicator is PBE for a sets real balance?
I imagine at the start of a set there are comps that overperform because the actually strongest comps haven't been found, hence players with better econ or slightly better general understanding can climb with technically weak comps because players don't know what's actually good. What im tryna say, is that people saying this set is well balanced, isn't it just too early to say?
Balance isn't a thing that you have or don't have, it's more on a spectrum. You can have a set that is balanced all the way until someone discovers a very good forceable comp that takes over. So when people say this set is balanced, they are more saying the state it is in currently is fairly balanced. They are not predicting the future of if the set will STAY balanced, just that it currently feels balanced.
Also, hero augments are a big buff to how a set's balance feels, as a lot of carries that could be problematic can't be forced. This leads to more diversity within the span of 50 games, where you're much less likely to see nearly identical comps winning frequently. A lot of player distain towards unbalanced comps comes from seeing it in the top 3 of all your games (look at shadow BB leblanc in set 5, or in the worst case warweek where I saw half the lobby playing warwick every game)

Hey any stream enjoyers out there, has Mort mentioned recently when the set 7 learnings article is dropping? I'm excited to read his retrospective about dragon lands and I haven't heard about it in a tuber in a bit.
Don't know if this augment is in the game already but it would be cool to add it if it's not in already, Let's call it nemesis and when a threat and a normal champ are next to each other they fight before the combat start so they lose some hp and instead gain some stats (I'll leave the balance to someone else)
Can you run this comp/is it still successful if you don’t hit the 75 health threat augment?
If you hit early two stars/have good items maybe. I imagine you would still want traits that buff the team, like some admin traits, civilian, mascot etc

@@CrolyGiart well, there's actually an argument for putting fiddle in the frontline. If he loses health faster, he ults faster, so he'll spend more time doing damage. Having 100 extra ap vs having a fiddle that ults early might actually be worse, because he might die quickly if he's the last one alive and he ults than if he just ults near the start of combat.
I think some thing abot threat is extremely confusing with augments, beacuse threat dont count for certaing augments that require threats because is not a trait, but for build differently it is a trait
Correction: Threat is a trait. It just happens to be a trait with no enhancement/effects. This is why it doesn’t work with Built Different because when you put a Threat unit in, you see it light up in your composition on the left.

So it’s not okay when people get the same threat but it’s okay when 4 people in the lobby get the same augment carry on the first pick? Petition for no unit augment till seconds augment
So no reroll comp and most 1/2 costs carry augment be entirely useless for the majority of the time making the game a lot less flexible? Sure sounds like a great idea with a lot of thought put into it and no personal bias at all.

There’d be no real reason to have 1/2 cost carry/support augments. I have big doubts people would enjoy getting almost any 1 or 2 cost hero augments when they’re most likely chasing higher tier units or already set in what they’d like to reroll to a hard degree
The same thing could easily happen on 3-2 if it weren’t for augments being influenced by board after 2-1, people tend to pick the stronger or more general hero augments which is why you see the same ones. The phenomenon is definitely player choice since there are more hero augments for the 1 and 2 costs than any other tier
@@TheTouristGuide But 1/2 cost carry works in late game if they have their carry augment, and their support augment helps them synergize with the whole team through their traits. Why wouldn’t there be reasons to have 1/2 cost augments? Not every late game comp is only 4/5 cost
