Lowndes just had a lot of mechanical problems in 2000, in 1999 Skaife won 5 rounds. If MS finished the clipsal and queensland 500 races well he would've challenged craig for the championship with the points format back then

Hrt then had no competition for 3 years, until ambrose came alone, and absolutely destroyed skaife when it was clear that stone brothers car wasn't quite as good as the HRT. Fuck it wasn't even as good as brights old VX for most of the season. Maybe Bottas was too generous. He's more a Coulthard Also if you went to races back then, which I did, you'd see lowndes first, smooth, car perfect, then you would see skaife behind him scrambling to keep up, car sideways. Skaife was trash.
@@falconmclenny7284this is the worst take on mark skaife I’ve ever read. Lowndes moved to qld and away from Victoria? Why wouldn’t they treat mark better? He was there for the test days. Was evident Craig was looking for a way out of hrt. He was also a 2 time champ before even winning one with hrt. Not marks fault the rules and regs of the cars suited his driving style as the early 2000’s went on. Mark is a fantastic driver, just aswell as Craig.
