The Pancor Jackhammer only exists as a prototype, but it is a real world gun, and strangely enough shows up in a lot of games and movies. (It's in the first Far Cry. There's a shotgun made up to look like a Jackhammer in the 1990 version of Total Recall, etc..)
Max Payne is a rare example of getting the whole "secret order" conspiracy element right. They're not portrayed as outright villains. They have their own motives for what they do.
I think it was a failed gun experiment due to being very complicated , as far that I believe.
The Pancor Jackhammer was described by a weapons expert as "designed in a lab and not keeping the battlefield in mind". The idea was, marrying a semi-automatic shotgun to a large capacity drum magazine would solve any CQB situation in a heartbeat. However, the final product came up to the insane weight of 2 assault rifles, which meant that the actual loadout of a soldier would be drastically reduced. Shotguns were carried by soldiers as an accessory weapon (secondary) for breaching or for close quarters stopping power, not as a primary weapon (the pellet spread and lower velocity would make it useless at anything over medium range).
So in the end, the design got rejected. But the cool shape and odd firing noise meant that it remained popular in the minds of video game weapon designers, who decided to incorporate it into a whole host of games.
@@Demo-Lition The concept did work, they just couldn't get a contract for it. Forgotten Weapons has a video going over the history.
@anarchyburger2655 I think that's why the soldiers disliked the gun. That and the ridiculous weight of the gun.
@@prabhatsourya3883at least the gun looks somewhat cool
Fun fact: Nicole Horne is played by Sam Lake's (who plays Max Payne and Jeff McCaffrey voices him) mother. Also the Jackhammer was supposed to be a real life shotgun but wasn't made due to difficulties manufacturing it.
Yep. Also the voice actress of Nicole Horne was Jane Gennaro. She would voice this ice cream owner of the cherry poppers factory from gta vice city. The one lady owner who hates children towards Tommy Vercetti. And that it’s used as a front for drug distribution. And that Tommy says that there’s good money in ice cream. But still. It shows part of his humanity for a hardened criminal.
I could listen to James McCaffrey narrating all day and would not get bored
A corrupt cop or military officer are worse than the ordinary street gangster because they know the system.
Corrupt politicians are worse
Klebitz is lucky Tom Stubbs didn't betray him
I think as payback for killing Johnny Stubbs convinced Steve to try killing Trevor
I would consider Stubbs a sociopath as he wanted his uncle's money but was not greedy and didn't betray Johnny Klebitz and the Lost Motorcycle Club i think either Angus or Stubbs took over
That could’ve made more sense. But Steve Haines could’ve wanted either Michael or Trevor dead because they’re loose ends and Franklin was the third wheel who wouldn’t snitch because of his gang personal code of no snitching, like CJ from gta San Andreas
They a lot heck worse than child predators AKA paedophiles i imagined...
There’s different forms of corruption. Taking some of the evidence money from a drug bust would make them considered legally crooked but I don’t think that would make them as bad or worse than the gangsters at all.
@@louisnapolitano Head Canon: Troy from GTA 4 (The bouncer of Tony's club) is Steve Haines undercovered to spy over Luis Lopez and his activities with Ancelotti's and Bulgarin's crew.
It is highly possible that Stubbs knew who Steve was as he has seen streets from very near. So when he moved LA, he probably got orders from Stubbs to kill Trevor for killing his best friend. He is killing two birds with one arrow. Not only he is getting payback on a person who killed a close friend of his but also get rid of a dangerous criminal.
Fun fact the guy in the graphic novel who is Alfred Woden is Sam Lake's father. As others have mentioned Nicole Horne is modeled by Sam Lake's mother.
For the next part beware of the m79s.
His name BB had really real meaning as what Max described him. and It shows that BB did indeed killed Alex just to set Max up. and It shows someone like him isn't trustworthy. to begin with. and him wearing expensive coat really to show that he was a bent cop
Fun fact: Jackhammer is one of best guns to have later in game. Ammo is rare but It kills enemies quicker than Pump-shotgun or Sawned-Shotguns and It serves as backup incase of running out of M4 ammo.
Yup. BB more like backstabbing bastard (like max mentioned)
Pump-shotgun becomes useless in part 3
@@zuhayerahnafaziz6956Factors
Slow rate of fire. and ammo for it became very rare
For anyone who might not know, 29:53 was a reference to Microsoft's attempt to monopolize the market back in the 1990s.
And as for Patrick's question about how Max avoided the cops while making his way to Westchester, you gotta remember that the cops thought Max was dead during Part 2 of the game, so they didn't bother setting up road blocks for him.
I'm not a fan of corrupt cops either.
And yeah, the Jackhammer is ridiculous, but pretty cool to use in this game! Maybe its for the best it never got mass produced, because according to Wikipedia, of the 3 prototypes that were made, 2 of them were destroyed during testing. Besides, i think the Striker seems more practical anyway.
And Pro, Aesir tower is gonna be intense, but I know you got this!
Well, the striker has an absurdly long reload time. You have to manually feed the rounds individually into the drum and charge the spring, with the drum being non-detachable. The Jackhammer was an attempt to marry a large ammo box to a semi-automatic shotgun system. The main reason it failed was the weight. The original metal prototype was heavier than 2 loaded AK-47 assault rifles (so it would be rejected on the weight basis alone), so they attempted to make it with plastic. And plastic is not as durable as metal for gun parts, especially if the makers are focused on weight reduction.
Also, I didn't know that Microsoft attempted to monopolize the market in the 1990s. I think the reasonable popularity of Mackintosh systems from Apple kept Microsoft from gaining total monopoly.
@@prabhatsourya3883 my mistake about the Striker i thought the drum held a decent amount of ammo to make up for the reload time.. Guess I've been playing too much of the original Resident Evil 4.. But I still think it looks like a badass shotgun..
And yeah, Microsoft got taken to court because apparently they had violated an antitrust law.. The company had to be broken into smaller companies as the result of the case.
Yeah, Max being apparently dead along with Vlad giving him a ride to the Punchinello Manor. He would've been safe with Vlad anyways.
Easily the best most iconic level in the game, the parking garage shootout.
I don't know about most iconic but it's definitely my favorite
me too, the amount of pre-made cutscenes in this level what makes it my favorite
It was my least favorite level for me
In comparison to other missions in later parts of the game, the parking garage mission was surprisingly a walk in the park for me, didn’t die a single time
I like it too, though I think it is quite difficult.
Bro i can't your reaction when u hit the bomb😂 32:11
Yeah that made me laugh very hard too watched his reaction a couple of times he was like what the hell just happened🤣
In the Max Payne movie (yes there was a movie), BB is actually Max’s father figure and Aesir’s head of security, and he was the one who sent the junkies after Michelle and her daughter, since she had info on Valkyr
Also, Nicole Horne’s not the main villain in the movie, BB is
BTW, the movie is trash; don’t bother watching. Marky Mark played Max Payne and Meg Griffin played Mona Sax
Well, Horne is technically the "main villain" in the sense that they were setting up for sequel bait (she shows up in the car at the end.)
They made a lot of really stupid changes in that movie. Completely butchered the tone, style, and story.
That and Hitman were utter craps
the movie was awful, i hope they come back to it and make the story 1:1 to the video game or at least extremely close, in a film or netflix adaptation
I'd love to see Chad Stahelski [director of the John Wick movies] direct a proper Max Payne movie.
@@haripk1I like the 2007 Hitman movie and it looks even better if you look at the 2015 reboot which is about as bad as the Max Payne movie... The 2007 Hitman movie takes liberties by having 47 go his own way (to solve the case and survive) after the Agency gets compromised and that story had not been yet used in the games. He doesn't always do silent assassinations there but he is constantly sneaky and thinks ahead either way. Max Payne could actually use a reboot movie because it has been a while but I don't believe there are enough competent people around to do one.

30:07, The News Reporter said Microsoft that was faintly cut out.
Maxey, Maxey, Maxey. Come out, come out wherever you are. You know I really hate people who refuse to see the inevitable, refuse to do the smart thing.
The atmosphere, the cold grayness of the city, the writing and voice acting is all superb. This is one of my all-time favorites
hey pro. love the Max Payne series man and I also would like to suggest that u do a playthrough of Bully, its a really underrated game that not many ppl know about and the ones who know about it refer to it as "GTA in school'' which is somewhat untrue imo. the game tells The story of Jimmy Hopkins and his time at bullworth academy and how he has to stand up for the bullies in the school while his mom and step dad are off to their honeymoon..
It would also be amazing to see u create Jimmy's iconic school uniform as well as his brown and white Jacket among many other outfits that u wear in game as u progress through to the game..
Fun fact: the game's seasons change according to when the school season starts and when it ends..
Bully, manhunt 1 and 2, warriors, la noire there are so many rockstar gems he can still play
Love this series pro keep up the good work,
Respects for The Professional refusing to save more than once or twice per level and actually doing really well for a first ever playthru.
@@hevitonttu2251 wait no he does good every time
@@kevinschofieldjr.9927Yes that's what I meant. He doesn't save often but he doesn't die either, which is impressive because in this game you pretty much die if someone lands one shotgun blast to your chest especially since you are usually not in full health, and there are some jump scare tier hidden enemies. Also because the difficulty is scaling, he is always playing the game on the hardest difficulty because it only lowers it if you keep dying repeatedly.
@@hevitonttu2251 oh yeah mb
The Jackhammer absolutely SHREDS
The professional back at it again with these amazing game play videos 💪🏽
After you finish the Max Payne 1 series you should try the fall of Max Payne 2 you won't regret it it's a goated game
Keep up, Professional. Your videos are very good.
Keep up the good work Pro! 👍
Made more than 20 years ago and Max Payne is still a timeless masterpiece!!
Here's hoping you continue with the sequel after this one. It's even better than the first imo.

29:57 I like how they try to obscure the Microsoft name underneath the static, but you can still clearly hear it.
I am so excited for the finale in n the next part and the Colt Commando is modeled after the Colt Model 733. And the funny thing is that not only does the Jackhammer shotgun appear in this game, it also appears in SOCOM 2 as the M3 12 gauge.
Pro can you do a LA Noire playthrough some time this year
Jackhammer was a prototype and only 3 were built. It was supposed to be a bullpup shotgun.
Are you going to play other Max Payne games?
If remember correctly the jackhammer is a real gun unless my memory is bad
It is,but only 2 prototype version and 1 operational version ever made I think
Yes, it's real but if i remember correctly in the 2nd game Remedy changed it to the Striker, and you can buy that weapon irl unlike the Pancor Jackhammer.

I can see why Max Payne ha such a strong fandom.
Is it me or was there supposed to be a cutscene at the beginning of BB speeding off with his car and pro skipped it?
yes, had to take a look on other walkthrough as I felt like we're lacking something there.
He probably skipped the cutscene when he wasn't recording.
Cutscenes are skipped once you reload the autosave from a chapter
The JackHammer 😂😂😂.
This is also the Final Level Patrick, In the next Video Upload, Expect Tripwires almost everywhere around Stairs, There is one Sequence where you take an Elevator and the Whole Upper Shaft is Rigged with at least 6-8 Laser Sensor Mines, Use the Bolt Action Sniper.
Please let your next video be more Max Payne because you're now at the final level of the game. By the way, when you're wondering how you got to Westchester, Vlad gives you a ride there after you escape Punchinello's fire trap at his restaurant.
Either way, the police also thought that Max was dead, thanks to a fake tip from Punchinello in Part 2, Chapter 1. So they didn't bother to check that hard or put up as many roadblocks/check-points.
@TheProffessional. The Pancor Corporation Jackhammer is a 12-gauge, blow-forward gas-operated bullpup automatic shotgun designed in 1984 and patented in 1987. Only three working prototypes of the Jackhammer were built. Nonetheless, its distinctive aesthetics and futuristic design have made it a prop in action films[citation needed], television programs[citation needed], and video games.
the towers 0:34 😔and i love that comic frame out of all the comic frames thats my favorite on here over the city 19:55 and i think the darkend her suit to cover the towers
i just played through this game in january and it was sooo good glad to see you playing it man
He's finally at the end of the game.
Will you be doing the second game after you're done with this one?
B.B dropped his sunglass
It sucks that Nicole was given a mausoleum in Max Payne 3.
Anyone else hear a 3 Days Grace song in their head every time he opens a medicine cabinet?
Hey Pro, I just want to ask. Now that you played Max Payne, do you still think that Kane and Lynch is the darkest crime game?
Wow.... uhm, that's a tough one
No need to apologize pro
When the remake comes, let all the world remember the name
Max Payne.
0:42 maybe the younger audience didn't notice those buildings, those are the twin towers before 9.11
Say Professional. I wonder if you will ever do a let’s play of the 90s 2D era gta games?
Thanks pro
Almost the end of the pain. I should warn you than the last two chapters are very brutal.
You should also give the PS2/Xbox Punisher game a go. Its genuinely a decent game
If I was you save your pain, killers cause this level is pretty tough.
Will you do a playthrough on Max Payne 2 also along with Max Payne 3 again but you also cosplay?
I think even on the remake. They're gonna use the same actor and the same voice actor. The plate, Max Payne
Great Video 👍 👍 👍
Good video hope Rockstar will make this remake good !
Remedy, the remakes are are in hands of Remedy. Rockstar is on support role
Hey Pro, I was wondering if you were going to play the saints row reboot expansions? I wouldn't blame you if you didn't play them.
Thank you pro for the video👍
The jackhammer isnt really that cringey. You dont see it in alot of a games either, and it has an interesting design. In terms of gameplay, it functions how you think it would, and the design itself doesnt need to be realistic for it to be fun to use
I always thought the Colt Commando was an AR-15 or a M16A1 Since they where being phased out by the army at the time.
It is the Colt Model 733 if I am not mistaken due to it's short barrel
Is max Payne 2 and max Payne 3 getting remake to ?
It was an American "best friend", so it counts as aquaintence.
@22:25 That means Rockstar ran out of ideas if they are trying to bank on old games.
Actually, it’s Remedy which is remastering the game, not Rockstar. I just hope that they do a proper remaster like the Mafia series, and not butcher it like GTA definitive edition.
Max doesn't really have any allies there are 3 you can count now
Mona, drugs you and disappears
Vlad, offered you a "offer you can't refuse" which was just a way for Vlad to get rid of what he wanted and have a man he can't be traced to
Alferd, another guy who looks good but is a prick when not infront of Max
Rest in peace James mcaffery 😢
Nice part
Yesss another episode
I wonder if Pro has played Half life 2 before
Hey pro, do you have any plans for 17 sept / gta 5's 10th anniversary
Keep it up bro
Hey pro u can turn off the auto switch weapons when u pick up weapons
I wonder if Pro would do do the "Dead to Rights" games. Okay, I would recommend the 2002 original and "Dead to Rights: Retribution." Not so much with "Dead to Rights II." Also, if you play the 2002 original, a lot of twists and turns don't make much sense. It's also pretty stupid in how the story is handled but the gameplay is fine, although it's a little repetitive.
Pro really doesn't wana use berreta lol
Professional if you liked this game then you gotta play Manhunt
Idk if RUclips allows Manhunt ganeplays but i agree
Early gang
U should take a look at gta4 and gta5 together if we are going in the past
Howdy
I'd like to recommend playing Miami Vice on PSP
Vlad brought him to Westchester
23:30 Nah, just a way too-expensive full auto shotgun that's rare AF IRL.
You have to do a summary of the game
the jackhammer or futuristic shotgun is kinda real
I hate this level
