7:41 Xanthan Gum is not a bad/weird ingredient at all! It is a very commonly used ingredient in gluten-free baking, and helps to either bind dough together or thicken sauces. It can be found in most supermarkets near the health-food stuff.
Try replacing white flour with almond flour, oat or any other type of flour You can also replace white and brown sugar with coconut sugar, agave or maple syrup or just honey It’s a lot healthier

can confirm that vegan chocolate cake is amazing, it's sooo fudgy and rich. if you don't want to bother with the icing just use betty crockers (it's vegan)

And no one said it’s healthy, it’s healthiER than the original version of the dessert. Stop criticising and be more appreciative that she spent time developing these recipes.
"I think in this entire thing I only used about a 1/3 cup of sugar" The recipe just showed you adding in an entire cup, with the cocoa and the flour...
No but naturally made things are typically healthier and these recipes are defiantly healthier, plus more inclusive to peoples diets since not everyone can eat food coloring or the insane amount of sugar in the "non-healthy" or store bought version (vegans, GF people, People with allergies, diabetics). Sure nothings wrong with things like Xantham gum or MSG but some people prefer things without and it it makes less waste, less cheap labor making those things and there's something special about homemade stuff with ingredients you can find in nature. There's nothing wrong with those type of ingredients inherently but there's also no benefit and they often come along side things that are chocked full of sugar and fat. And they didn't say they were bad in fact she stated that some of her reasoning was because of health issues and everyone should be able to eat delicious food no matter the diet or allergies.
I’m disappointed in some of the comments here. You’ve laid out exactly what your goal was here and have absolutely delivered! The chocolate cake is phenomenal and the cheesecake .. ingenious!! MUCH healthier alternatives to traditional store bought options. Well done.. Thank you for sharing!! ☺️
Joanna Davis I hear ya! In Canada we have a show called Marketplace that exposes false advertising, scams etc. They did an episode on coconut oil. They interviewed the researcher who did ONE single study showing minor benefits from coconut oil in specific conditions, but food companies ran with it. They had a cheap tropical fat they could now sell as a health food. But coconut oil is a saturated fat, it behaves like all saturated fats, it's not a miracle cure!
This is not healthier and almost everything has the same calories as the original, lmao. I thought you were going to substitute the sugar for any other sweetener
When I hear healthy I think low sugar or sugar free, not no eggs...... when did eggs become less healthy than sugar?? I’m sorry (not sorry) but this video angers me.
Honestly I wouldn't make this. Just because it's vegan doesn't mean it's healthier and she said 1/3 cup of sugar but put 1 cup of sugar in it??? My advice would be - Stop eating snacks, dessert, drinking soda, or other drink with sugar in it - have one cheat day a week, where you can eat/drink 1 "dessert" - when you make cake, try making a small cake, like mini cake. And share it with your family, even though it's so small. + You can decorate the mini cake with a lot of frosting, cause it's so small it almost doesn't matter

The chocolate cake has a lot of sugar. The “cheesecake”, well, I don’t like it at all but it’s good. The cinnamon rolls doesn’t taste really delicious. That’s my opinion.
Thank you
OMG! These look f*Kng amazing!

please id like the recipe 3 the chocolate cake
Please know that making vegan deserts doesn’t make it automatically healthier
welp, she reduced sugar, use whole wheat flour, etc which is healthIER
Well it also doesn't have the cholesterol that dairy comes with, so it is healthier, maybe not "healthy" though
@@sadiesmith5 not everyone is sensible to dietary cholesterol, so that's also subjective lol
forget-me- not but it’s not good for anyone looolllll
@@sadiesmith5 that's not true, problems with high cholesterol are usually related to over consumption of saturated fats
Where are the ingredient amounts for the cinnamon roll recipe?
xanam gum isn’t bad it’s used to help bind ingredients and thicken stuff, usually used in gluten free baking, you can buy it at a super market.
Try replacing white flour with almond flour, oat or any other type of flour
You can also replace white and brown sugar with coconut sugar, agave or maple syrup or just honey
It’s a lot healthier
The cheesecake looks delicious and the sugar only comes from the dates and blueberries. I might give it a try. Maybe a mug cake version of it.
the thing i noticed about vegan food is that if you have nut allergies or soy allergies its very hard to eat many things

Yeah, just like a lot of the meat substitute recipes and ready-made products use gluten. Cashews and dates are really pricey, too.
There’s a substitute for everything
My biggest problem with goodful is that, most of the time you don't put the measurements
xanthan gum is literally a thickening agent and a food stabilizer lmao - its not rat posion
Very good. Can you make some gluten-free, alternative flours baking classics?
y she say the cake only has 1/3 cup sugar but in the video it was 1 cup ?
1/3 cup for each cake.
with an addition of maple syrup and apple sauce that has sugar in it
yeah lol she said that she thinks the entire thing only has 1/3 cup but then the recipe showed one cup
Emily Kaplan tbf the chocolate cake did have 3 layers so maybe all the measurements are meant to be divided in 3 for one layer?
2 cup for frosting too.
when you add one cup coconut oil and say its healthier
Well it's better than 1 cup of butter

Hi. I really love this video. But I have one question. For the cinnamon rolls can you use another substitution for the yeast? Any suggestions
Very nice.Thank you
I love how these recipes aren’t super healthy but not completely unhealthy either
I exprected this to be low on suger as the title claimed
Sugar*
And it never said it would be low on sugar.
some of yall in the comments don't know the difference between "healthier" and "healthy" and it shows
Where can I find the measurements for the cinnamon rolls?
xantham gum is perfectly natural shush

Are there any gluten free flours that I could use instead of the whole wheat all purpose??
Pretty sure Oat and almond flours are gluten-free. Almond flour may be very expernsive tho!
Do you think Kite Hill’s vegan cream cheese would work for the cinnamon roll frosting to make it vegan?
Nandini Tivakaran tofutti cream cheese definitely would

caitlin emma she meant 1/3 of what normal cake recipes call for sugar (3 cups)
Sam Iha What cake recipe has 3 cups of sugar just in the batter?
at 1:38 you can see that she made 3 cakes out of the batter so I guess she meant 1/3 cup of sugar per cake
Omg 🤦♀️ she splitted the mixture in to three cake tins later lol...

Xantham gum is an additive you add to gluten-free dishes that have flour in them
everyone in the comment section: it says healthiER
Can I replace the Whole wheat for Almond flour? I know someone who is allergic to gluten so I dont want them to feel left out
Hmm do you know any other substitutes I could use?
I would use just a gluten free flour blend, you have different flours with different nutrients
I think you can

What about a healthier cookie?😍
If you want to use vegan butter for frosting or to just eat, earth balance is vegan and it tastes exactly like regular butter while being healthier. 😊

So how rich do you have to be to make these?
Why do the cinnamon rolls
Looks so unrisen? There’s yeast in them. Maybe they did not let rise after cutting and putting in the pan?
its bc of the flour
