We bought my eldest son a broom, dust pan and vacuum cleaner for Christmas one year as he was so into the mechanics of each of them. He wore everything out...best gifts ever!

@@rachealh5860 lots of people send their dogs away to get trained. They both work full time, and they have a one year old. So try and train a dog on top of that would be stressful. And maybe they don’t know how to train a dog, it’s better to get the job done right the first time.

It heals so much better with a needle. Evan is trained right! He not only remembered about the earrings, he noticed the earrings, asked to see them, and said they were cute. I got my nose pierced and a helix piercing and my hubby’s comment was, “I don’t care”! He should care because I do and I’m his wife and show that he notices me! So keep up the great work in being a student of your wife, Evan. You will always learn something new.

As I was also not trained to do the same for a potential husband. Training is what we as parents (should) do for our children so they will be the best mates they can be to their spouse. Training is the exact word because teaching is spoken words but training is practicing to hone a skill. In fact many men, mostly baby boomers, were not taught to be raised for manhood, which is different than what most people think. It’s not how tough and strong but how meaningful and thoughtful you can be as well as a thinker and doer. My hisvsnd and I were raised on the “me” generation to think about getting ahead no matter what and having lots of stuff to show our accomplishments. I was trained to be competitive and competent in the business world, but not how to nurture my spouse and family. Ugh. Anyway, it’s refreshing for me to see Evan and Carlin growing up together and learning more about each other and the world.
