- Everyone wants their makeup to look natural and flawless, but it can be very difficult to find the balance between good coverage without having makeup that looks fake instead of natural. I want to show you all the tips and products I use to help create a natural flawless face with a natural glow. Please enjoy Josie Balka’s Natural Makeup Tutorial:

Here is a written step by step process of how to replicate Josie Balka’s Natural Makeup.
• HAIRPIN: I usually pin my hair up to prep for doing my makeup.
• PRIMER: Bare Minerals primetime brightening is a makeup primer that I love. I always start with a makeup primer because it helps my makeup apply smoother and last way longer.
• FOUNDATION: I like to use the Charlotte Tilbury airbrush flawless foundation. I put one squirt on the back of my hand and apply with a makeup brush. Foundation is the one product that is well worth investing in for quality.
• FOUNDATION APPLICATION: I put some foundation on my brush and dot it onto my cheek. If you want more coverage, start applying the makeup on the center of your face (your nose), but I start on my cheeks because it gives a more natural look. Spread the foundation with small circular motions to give a very natural makeup look with less coverage.
• CONCEALER: The Tarte Shape Tape is a concealer that I love to use. This is an amazing concealer especially if you have dark circles or bags. I usually get concealer that is one or two shades lighter than my foundation to help illuminate all the facial features that I want to look bright and awake.
• CONCEALER APPLICATION: I Apply the concealer right beneath my eye, nose, and chin. My nose is the first place that my makeup usually comes off, so I make sure to put an extra dab of concealer onto my nose. Take a damp beauty blender and just tap the concealer to blend it.
• SETTING POWDER: To set my concealer, I am using the Laura Mercier secret brightening powder. I take a small amount on my small brush and gently set the loose setting powder beneath my eye. I then take the Laura Mercier translucent powder and quickly go over the rest of my face.
• BRONZER: I used the bronze goddess from Este Lauder and brush it under my cheekbone. Blend upwards with a more compact brush to remove all the lines. I use this same brush to smoothly brush away any extra setting powder now that it has absorbed into my concealer.
• EYEBROW PEN: I love the Loreal Paris brow stylist definer pen. My eyebrows are sparse, so I like using the fine tip on this eyebrow pen. I start in the middle of my face and slowly work the pen outward, following the natural flow of your eyebrows.
• BLUSH: I used the Maybelline Fit Me Blush in the shade of 15. I put the blush on the apple of my cheek and flick it outward a little bit.
• EYESHADOW: I use an eyeshadow palette with neutral to orange tones. I start with a creamy white eyeshadow and apply to my whole eyelid. I then create a line that follows the corner of my eye to my eyebrow and use a small stroke to fill that line in. I then work in warmer colors using a compact brush to fill this area further.
• PRIMER & MASCARA: I put primer on my upper eyelashes. I used the L’Oreal Bambi Eye Mascara. I also apply just a little bit of mascara to my lower eyelashes.
• EYELINER: I use the ELF jet black eyeliner. I have been using it since I started wearing makeup because it stays on great and is easy to apply. I apply it to my upper eyelid, starting in the middle. I try to make the skinniest line ever from the middle of the eyelid to the outer edge of my eye and make a little wing that follows the direction of the eyeshadow line I created earlier.
• HIGHLIGHTER: Highlighter is my favorite part of makeup because I love a glowy and dewy look. I apply some highlighter above my lip, on my nose, above and, on my cheekbone, as well as above and below my eyebrows.
• LIP LINER: I love wearing lip liner and I currently use the NYX London Lip Liner. Grace taught me a trick that if you bring the lip liner in it is much easier to apply than if you take it outward.
• LIP GLOSS: I have used a TON of different lip glosses and by far, my favorite all time is the Elf Lip Lacquer in the color Fantasy. This is a makeup product that you must try out if you don’t already have it!
• SETTING SPRAY: I always finish my makeup routine with setting spray if I am doing my natural makeup look for a big event.

I make a eyelash grower stuff I mix castor oil and coconut oil together equal parts I do half and half in a jar and you apply it on your lashes at night before bed and it helps your lashes grow I've used it on my mom and it works

I use the waterproof elf eyeliner pen it works great, it’s easy to apply and it stays on for a few hours. I use the jet black one but if you want it more natural looking the brown is great too

Lipgloss recommendation: Gabriel Cosmetics, color Nectar. This is my absolute favorite! They have it online at their website, I found it at whole foods years ago, like 2011 I think. My mom, cousin, and I all use it regularly! Love love love it! Especially if you like the natural look!

Such a beautiful makeup look and I appreciate all the product recommendations. Gonna look for that lipgloss online right now! I can highly recommend the lash serum by Babe Lash to help wimpy lashes. I was a bit scared of using this kind of product at first but after seeing such good results on two of my fave beauty gurus, Sam and Nic Chapman, who use Lilash, I decided to go for it but bought the less expensive Babe Lash. I've used it for about 6 months now and am amazed at how fast it worked (saw a big difference in two to three weeks and get lots of comments on my lashes) and would never be without it now. Always nice to find a product that actually comes through with its claims. You just swipe it on at night at the lash line like applying eyeliner, easy and effective.

I have really short, barely there lashes and I use the Grande Cosmetics Primer and Mascara
I don't use Fondation but I use to. I think in my 40s I probably will use it because redness will be a factor. But until then.. I'm natural with eye mascara. I have long eye lashes, naturally big eyes and thick hair eye brows so I keep my make up minimal because I naturally have that enhanced stuff. I am glad too because I can't be bothered with complicated make up everyday! So God thank you for a naturally gifted look. 🙏 God is good.
Tartiest pro glow is the best highlight I've ever used!
I love the lip gloss from tower 28 the one called xoxo they also have clear one from sephora its 14.00 dalllors. I have sensitive skin and my lips are pink but I love glosses because it's just a little something that puts it together. I love that one you should try that one if your on the budget. I feel alot stuff is expensive but I feel that is cheap for me because my lips are sensitive and they break out fast.
Have you heard of Grande Lash or Rapid Lash?? I’ve heard they’re both really good at helping eyelashes grow and get thicker😊
Use lash boost my sister uses it and her eyelashes are so much longer now. And by you are very good at makeup.
I love my Farmasi 3D mascara. You should definitely look into the Farmasi products.

i believe that the name of my foundation is la girl pro matte i love it when i use it it makes my face look so smooth but it get mine at cvs so if you want a cheaper brand that you might like try it i really like it ive tried other foundations and they dont work as well for me

I know this video was from a long time ago but for your eyelashes I had really short eyelashes and I started putting castor oil on them and they are so much longer now

Try the Thrive Mascara. Jessica Braun recommends it and if you haven't checked her videos out, I think you would like her!
You mentioned you have short lashes but are they blonde as well? What brand of magnetic eyelashes/liner do you use?
If you have short lashes you should totally use the L’Oréal telescopic mascara! It lengthens to much!!

Where did you get your magnetic lashes from?? I’ve been wanting to try for forever because I just can’t do the eyelashes with glue lol! But don’t know what brand of magnetic to get!

Elf mineral infused mascara is my new go to! It’s £4.50 (UK) it’s better than my YSL and Lancôme ones that were £20+
What to use if you power makeup
When you run out of the Tarte palette, you might like the Nudes of New York palette by Maybelline.
Hi. You should try Farmasi products. We have a wide range from baby to skin care to makeup and even home care. They don’t have the harsh chemicals in them like most others. The prices are great and it worth trying. I use a full face of Farmasi with the exception of eye shadow most of the time. I think I have my link on my Facebook page. I put castor oil on my eyelashes to grow them, it works really well!!! Just plain castor oil, I use a mascara wand
