Thanks to the homeowners for letting us come in to see the finished project. We all wondered what happened with this job. Thanks for thinking of us "inquiring minds" who "just want to know"
What a job and what a beautiful kitchen.. Those windows! 😱 So lucky to have ya'll in order to give such a solid framing foundation to make their dream a reality! Thanks for heading back and giving us a final look 👊
Oh my god, it's gorgeous! I absolutely LOVE those floor to ceiling windows, and all the lighting is really really nice. They''ll enjoy that for as long as they own the home, AND it added a ton of equity to the house as well. Fantastic result!!!
Good on you guys for eventually hiring an engineer. Your inspector did the right thing too - whether you agree with his assessment or not, and whether you like that it was discovered from your RUclips - they have a job to do. In many many jurisdictions, ALL work that involves structural modifications (which yours did, even though it seemed minor) requires an engineers stamp. I am honestly blown away your jurisdiction even allows modification of an elevated exterior structure like that with a change in purpose (deck converted to interior space) without engineers drawings and stamps, and visual inspection by the engineer and the inspector before closing up. I understand wanting to keep costs down - however, work like this can have insidious risks. It's the whole reason that engineering stamp carries with it huge liability - because when things are overlooked people can get killed. Anyways, you guys did the right thing - I would encourage you call your engineer more often than not - a good engineer is there to make your build go as smoothly and cost effectively as possible while helping to ensure everyone's safety. Next time don't wait for RUclips to make the call. :)
Wow that looks real nice. Well done! Also: interviewing the client is a great shift in gears. Gives us more insight. Could do that more with the bigger jobs. Nice touch.
I was wondering about how it turned out. I’m so glad to see the finished episode. My husband and I have been contemplating a kitchen update ourselves. The owners acting as the contractors and graciously sitting down to give us a rundown is very helpful and much appreciated.
Very nice! If the homeowners ever reads this don't feel bad about the extra cost for an engineer. The peace of mind knowing everything is proper is woth it for the small percentage of the overall cost of the project. When in doubt I always hire an engineer, and the paperwork they provide will prove useful if you ever sell or anything happens. And you stretched that 80k a long way. Great work guys!
WOW those windows make it look incredible, it truly feels like you are in a treehouse with those trees right outside and so visible floor to ceiling. The cabinet style and color are great too, that navy color with what looks like brushed nickel to match the stainless appliances and white counters go great with all the green outside. Like water, leaves, and snow almost. Glad you showed the finish product I always wondered what happened with that project.
Eric, you continue to create terrific video content, and I watch them all. Jamie has a lot of great gifts (likely many taught by your dad, whom Jamie looks like), and he puts his gifts into action, especially using his terrific shop. Great job all, and consider hiring one more person that are young and yearning to learn you mojo.
Just a little tip....... You've still not added this to the kitchen renovation project playlist...... hence why there's still new people commenting saying wheres the final update on the last video in the playlist!
Really great remodel. That glass wall looks just amazing. Also what I like to think when going over-budget is that the renovation (usually, most of the time) increases the value of the house. So it's both good for you as in living there but if and when you decide to move out and sell it you just get a little bit more just because of it. That glass wall kitchen area with that view definitely upped the value of the whole house.
Amazing work by you guys, Matt and his family. The floor to ceiling windows are a great choice. Thank you for letting us back into your home to see the end product! 🙏👏🇦🇺
We did a similar kitchen extention a couple of years ago. We didn't want to put a "wooden box" on the house. You see them everywhere and few of them look good. So we opted for floor to ceiling glass. We also have small row of slanted glass in the ceiling. We only shot the glass out about 120 centimeter at a lenght of 360 centimeter. Really not that much floorspace gained, but due to the glass we feel we got a lot more space in the kitchen. We couldn't be happier and highly recommend it.
Great job on the kitchen, btw not sure if anyone has mentioned it in the past vids since i am watching the farmhouse build but a spray sock that goes over your head will save you from getting all of that paint on you. also rubbing vaseline on your face around the mask where the sock might not cover the skin will allow you to wipe it off when you are done. i used to spray heavy equipemnt and this was a life saver over cleaning your self up with MEK.
That was nice of the home owners to explain things. They got their money's worth. Iam adding on two bathroom and sunroom add on. And oh my talk about running on cost. It's you get started and you up grade and add this and that. Plus once I got started I seen new ways of doing things and had to go that way. By the time I get done iam probably going to be at better than a 50% over run.
Thank you for bringing closure to this project. It turned out fabulous. I didn't foresee the full height window in the design... that was a great upgrade with a million dollar look. Uh ... I was one of those guys that thought the existing columns were questionable. Didn't mean to add expense, just trying to look out for your family safety and with that gorgeous kitchen, you can now sleep good at night with an engineer's blessing or if you decide to sell down the road.
Very much thanks for letting us see finished kitchen. It is gorgeous. Sorry for stress with engineers, but a great investment because now you know you are structurally set. Should make your homeowners insurance company happy. Those windows so pretty. That little space by kids fridge great spot for all folding tables or stools. Enjoy * thanks again for sharing your remodel. Perkins boys rock.
THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! Ah, so the owners did the rest. Ah-ha. It looks great! I love those windows! I did not think I would but that looks great-- yes, it does look like you're right in the woods. I love that. And opening the wall between the kitchen and dining room does make it look so much more open to the rest of the house. (I just hope they have a good exhaust fan; the main reason for shutting a kitchen off is to keep the heat out of the rest of the house.) Plus, I love that they did not put a kitchen table on the other side of the island, but added extra space to the island itself. I did that when I re-did my kitchen because I LIKE using my dining room for dinner every night. I lived in one house where we only ever used our dining room when we had company. Why? Mostly, because we had a kitchen table. And I hated it. Rooms are there to be used. I ended up using my dining room as a craft room 350 days out of the year. :( But when I just put in an island that only fit 2 people, we ate in the dining room almost every night-- and often for lunch, too. It was so nice. And I love the lighting and the color of the cabinets. Everything looks great. Again, thank you so, so, so much for adding a final episode to this series.
I gotta say how happy I am that Johnny @Crafted Workshop introduced you guys to us. I’ve enjoyed every build. You guys do great work, and seem to have fun doing it. That’s the trick to a good crew. Cheers 🍻
Absolutely gorgeous. My first thought was 100K but coming in at 80 was impressive. I can only imagine the views in October and winter. Wasn't a big fan of 'colored' cabinets until I saw yours - WOW! You have a beautiful home and property so enjoy for many years to come. The only 'problem' is my wife saw the completed project and said, very matter of factly, "Let's do something like that."
Wondered if they refinanced or took out a second mortgage...and if so, how was the bank when dealing with the homeowner as the contractor, considering project cost overruns (which were well worth it).
That is quite the transformation. Well worth the expense in my humble opinion. It honestly looks like a different house altogether compared to what it once was. Great job to all involved.
Thank you to the homeowners for sharing their perspective, especially the budget. I have a similar project planned for the future, turning an existing deck into a bigger kitchen and dining room. Wondering what the cost on the windows was, I’m thinking in the $10k range.
A little late here but I would agree with the ballpark of $10k. Matt Risinger did a video of operable patio doors and they ran at least $800-$1000 a linear foot. These are fixed so should be a little cheaper and it looks like they are about a total of 12 feet.
Love the follow up, please do one with Jamies partners for the airb&b. Love the videos not happy with frieght costs to Australia for your tool belts though.
As a remodel guy … I know there will always be a time where the clients will tap out and begin their begin …. Also had to come back in some moments when they are way over their head …. Sometimes things look great in the beginning always fresh … then in a year I get a call to fix … I still love the work
I think you and your team do a great job on your projects. I am glad you addressed the support of the new addition and it passed inspection as you thought it would. IMO I would have had it rebuilt for peace of mind. If you compare the deck support of the house with stream to this one. The new deck support seems much stronger with less weight. I can only assume the new deck is over built. Nice recap. Great content as always.
I am so happy that you guys did a follow up video for this miniseries. I really enjoyed the project and I thought about it since then. It looks so good.
Looks awesome Did similar to a client's house The only thing I would've liked to see is the instead of floor to ceiling windows It would've been awesome to do a all glass garage door But totally awesome Great job
Props to the homeowners they have done a stunning job finishing off their kitchen area. Perkins brothers, gentlemen you are the business. Its just a shame you’re on the wrong side of the Atlantic! I can’t wait to see where your work takes you next. Thanks for such great content.
Looks awesome. Great job to all involved. I do have one question about the insulation under the floor system. Shouldn’t the vapor barrier be to the conditioned side of the floor? Just asking because I’m doing a similar project right now. But it really does look great. Thanks for your knowledge and videos.

I wanted to say this, but couldn’t find the words! 😅
oh yeah!!! thanks for watching
Wonderful kitchen, the windows are amazing, good job done to all who worked on the build. Big aplause for the owners.
Thank you very much!
What a job and what a beautiful kitchen.. Those windows! 😱 So lucky to have ya'll in order to give such a solid framing foundation to make their dream a reality! Thanks for heading back and giving us a final look 👊
Hey, get to working on that garage/apartment! Can't wait for the next episode.
Hey, get back to work on framing, breaks over!!
Do you have time to watch other tubers? We're waiting for videos
This need to be added to the playlist. Awesome outcome
Eric, please move this video to the playlist for this project 😄
To say that kitchen is amazing is an understatement!
As a Scandenavian I think it’s ugly and outdated, the marble worktops and chrome details isn’t it for me 🫣
@@BiasOfficialChannelWhat kind of looks and materials are you guys using in Scandinavia?
Oh my god, it's gorgeous! I absolutely LOVE those floor to ceiling windows, and all the lighting is really really nice. They''ll enjoy that for as long as they own the home, AND it added a ton of equity to the house as well. Fantastic result!!!
I was waiting to see the results of this remodel, it looks great! Nice job to Perkins Bothers and the homeowner! Love it!

I'd bet most people don't want to be in a video with thousands of viewers. :P
Now we just need an update on Ray's kitchen!
I was wondering about how it turned out. I’m so glad to see the finished episode. My husband and I have been contemplating a kitchen update ourselves. The owners acting as the contractors and graciously sitting down to give us a rundown is very helpful and much appreciated.

all the color choices are spot on. they all mesh together like a dream
Missed this series it’s what got me watching your Channel

The BEST thing that Homeowner did was get Perkins Bros. to do the job. You guys are AWESOME and I watch EVERY video you put out.
Eric, you continue to create terrific video content, and I watch them all. I appreciate that!
Beautiful just beautiful, workmanship, craftsmanship over all great job well done!
Ps, you shaved your beard, looks good😍 it’s summer ☀️🌞
Great update! Love your product Eric. You’ve got this RUclips stuff figured out

Looks SOOOO good! Kudos to the homeowners and big thanks for sharing the details! Gorgeous job! 👏🏻
Amazing work by you guys, Matt and his family. The floor to ceiling windows are a great choice. Thank you for letting us back into your home to see the end product! 🙏👏🇦🇺
Those brick pillars holding everything up still give me the willies but everything else looks great.
Wish we had a Perkins Builder Brothrs here in CT. Awesome work! Renovations needed here!!

That kitchen is incredible and I loved the interview with the homeowners. They seem like such lovely people
They are!
Thanks for talking about the columns! Good to hear an engineer verified them, even though that must have been annoying/frustrating.
no problem... yeah was a bit of extra work and stress, but it never hurts to have a second opinion from a professsional
That was nice of the home owners to explain things. They got their money's worth. Iam adding on two bathroom and sunroom add on. And oh my talk about running on cost. Beautiful home. Wow love the huge windows. Great job to everyone that had a hand in building.
Thank you for bringing closure to this project. It turned out fabulous. I didn't foresee the full height window in the design... that was a great upgrade with a million dollar look.

Great job. Love all the light & open space! Be kind to each other. Stay safe. Love to all
Thank you! Will do!
Love that dark blue cabinet color. Beautiful!
Very much thanks for letting us see finished kitchen. It is gorgeous. Sorry for stress with engineers, but a great investment because now you know you are structurally set. Thank you for finishing this project. Now you need to start building on that property you guys bought last year!
Thank you for keeping us updated.
Love watching you and your crew get into the build an explain what's what.that is vital and the love you share you guys are great keep them coming
You guys did an awesome job getting that job started off on the right foot. Came out beautiful guys.
THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! Ah, so the owners did the rest. Ah-ha. It looks great!

Wow what a nice kitchen and the view from it. Great job all around.
Beautiful ❤, thank you for updating us.
i love the color and design choice, and a plus on the big windows

Not the most talked about kitchen remodel, but nice to see this one done too.
looks amazing! they are going to love spending time as a family in this space!
Thank you to the homeowners for sharing their perspective, especially the budget. I have a similar project planned for the future, turning an existing deck into a bigger kitchen and dining room. Wondering what the cost on the windows was, I’m thinking in the $10k range.
I'm thinking even higher .. but curious to know. Seems a commercial type item ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Interior yang mewah dalam pemasangan meja dapur serta kitchen yang luar biasa,
Without any doubt the new kitchen added more than 80k in value to the house so its a job well done.
i think so!
Love the follow up, please do one with Jamies partners for the airb&b. Love the videos not happy with frieght costs to Australia for your tool belts though.
Great video, amazing to get the homeowners view.
You might want to tag this video to your playlist. I didn’t see it there. Great work, fellas!

the kitchen window and view make me think of the car garage in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The one with the Ferrari in it.
I think you and your team do a great job on your projects. I am glad you addressed the support of the new addition and it passed inspection as you thought it would. IMO I would have had it rebuilt for peace of mind.

It's so nice, such a great job! I love getting ideas for my future (and current) home from videos like this.
Beautiful - such an amazing transformation - wonderful job.
Loved this.
Thanks for the discount Perkins, just happened to need some hinges and handles and found them on your site👍🏼❤️👏🏼👏🏼
Enjoy!
Nice kitchen thanks for posting 👏🏻👍🏻
Liked the owner interview! Full length windows was definitely a big plus. Made the kitchen/dining space very spacious!
Thanks for sharing! That is a beautiful kitchen
Looks awesome
Did similar to a client's house
The only thing I would've liked to see is the instead of floor to ceiling windows
It would've been awesome to do a all glass garage door
But totally awesome
Great job
Awesome to see this revisited.
The floor to ceiling window view is amazing. Reminded me of the car garage scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off 😂😂.
Incredible kitchen!
Great interview!
WOW 👍👍This is a great video 👍👍Nice Kitchen love the windows 👍👍
man what a lovely house that has become great job yall
Props to the homeowners they have done a stunning job finishing off their kitchen area. Perkins brothers, gentlemen you are the business. Its just a shame you’re on the wrong side of the Atlantic! I can’t wait to see where your work takes you next. Thanks for such great content.

Great end result 👍
Thanks Erik! Can you please add this episode to the playlist? Thank you
Looks amazing. Been looking forward to seeing this one finished
Thanks!
I've been wondering about the kitchen and how it was going. Matt did an awesome job.
Love how it came out in the end...true I was wondering what had happened with this project...also what's going on with the duplex?
So glad to see the finished product!!!
Looks awesome. Great job to all involved. I do have one question about the insulation under the floor system. Shouldn’t the vapor barrier be to the conditioned side of the floor? Just asking because I’m doing a similar project right now. But it really does look great. Thanks for your knowledge and videos.
Good stuff! Looks great
Congrats! Great Windows! Here's a Family project, Bird Houses❤❤❤
Looks really nice.
So great to see this finished!
Turned out amazing! Good job guys
I wondered what happened with this project. It turned out great!
beautiful kitchen!
Love the AG1 at 15:21. LOL. Great sponsored Video and well placed packets.
Designed to impress. But that's what keeps your excellent team in work.
curious what the r-factor on those commercial windows are?
this is certainly a nicer kitchen than most North American kitchens. Looks so much closer to kitchens in Europe
