I kinda agree with ur thoughts regarding La Capitale. As a man i also think La Capitale is unisex slightly female leaning but overall women tend to like only the opening and hate the drydown for themselves. The leather even if its light and beautifully blended gives it a distinct manliness. For me La Capitale is a masterpiece for men and heavily underrated. A beautiful recommendation for women in my opinion is Accento Overdose
Thanks for the shout-out Marcello! Xerjoff definitely is a consistently stellar house... I find that one of the hardest parts is that their range is so extensive and price means blind / impulse buying is out of the question. To date I find taking advantage of custom samples with purchase (libertine) is allowing me to slowly get further exposure.

Looks like I failed to hit the comment button this morning when replying to this week's Mate Talk...! Came back to watch again and my words are nowhere to be found, so I'll try this again (maybe the hyperlink I included, who knows). First, thanks for the Aaron Terence Hughes mention. Too bad there still seems to be things you aren't able to get in Australia. Secondly, a comprehensive breakdown of Xerjoff fragrances by "level of experience". Looks like you've convinced me to purchase my third Xerjoff, Tony Iommi. Will give this a test run on skin soon. And last but not first, thanks for the shoutout! You pretty much nailed my Naxos story, but forgot to mention this woman said I smelled "good enough to eat". Too funny...you had to be there when the hair came down. I had no idea. And as for my "megasoid" handle, please refer to the old TV show "The Outer Limits" episode "The Duplicate Man" starring Aussie Ron Randell (who hid his accent pretty well). All will be revealed! Great episode Marcelo! Hope you're doing well. Love it when these come up on a week off work and I can just chill and enjoy. Thanks for the inspiration on more to try from Xerjoff, you mentioned some there that I haaven't got to yet. As far as Aaron Terence Hughes, I think not trying Onyx Extreme would be a mistake because its the most opulent Rose Oud I've ever tried and its an amped up flanker to his most popular fragrance. Others I personally love and would highly recommend are Haze Black, Notorious, Maverick, Homme and Daddy. I could've picked more but I'll stick with 5 because thats the number you asked for.

This is my first time watching this particular video and I was laughing all the way through because in my journey of discovering Xerjoff earlier this year I not only purchased bottles of fragrances that you recommended but also in the order you recommended!! I purchased Naxos first few months later I purchased Torino 21 and for my next purchase I was looking at Starlight and Tony Iommi. 🤣

The JTC line is widely amazing as is the Shooting Stars collection. I do agree with Zefiro as well goes great with Naxos and Renaissance.
You NEED to check out more of ATH's collection. As you love Xerjoff you'll love Aaron's work.
Start with Daddy, Homme, Blood Orange and finally Boss Bastard. These are all my personal faves from the line but I think everybody needs to try them.

I purchased Naxos and yes it is so awesome for anybody's first fragrance. My six year old daughter absolutely loves this fragrance. I live 40 miles outside of Atlanta Ga and the second fragrance I purchased from Xerjoff was 40 Knots. I wanted to ensure I had an awesome fragrance for our Spring going into Summer. Thanks for your advice. 27Aug23 I just received More than Words. I mean what an awesome fragrance.

Love Xerjoff, the fact that you're regularly covering the brand is what brought me to your channel.
For my ATH picks I would go with:
Maverick - it has a bipolar character that makes it so that when you get in close to take a sniff, even if only minutes apart, it will feel like it changed but then it Flips back. Cannot get bored of this.
Guapo - elevated version of AF Fierce DNA, or a grown up, more niche iteration on PDM Percival. Next step up in "nicheness" would be Nishane Kargoz. Not a clone of these but in the same DNA family. A beast for spring and summer.
Onyx Extreme - Rose and Oud (clean) classic combo done right, a VERY sensual Scent.
Alpha Man - best Masculine neroli scent I've smelled to DATE (PERIOD)
Homme - dry woody iris beautifully done. Suit not included with the purchase.

Great video Marcelo! The only ATH fragrance that I've gotten the chance to try out is Raw Cherry 🍒 It's a very dark boozy and somewhat smoky cherry on my skin and it has great longevity on my skin as much as I expect from many from ATH. Many blessings from Puerto Rico!

I really appreciate that you take the time to read and respond to comments. I don’t expect you to respond to every single one of them though - it’s enough that you give us high quality videos.
My entry to Xerjoff was actually through its sister brand, Casamorati. Another tip I can share with women/girls who are new to niche is (next to getting samples or a discovery set) to get the hair mist. It’s a less expensive way to experience the scent first before getting into the perfume. It won’t be exactly the same scent but it allows you to experience the fragrance more. What’s great about Casamorati is that you get the same beautiful packaging as the perfume. I got the La Tosca and I think it smells of my memories of Italian luxe.
Fred’s story about Naxos was so funny. I can picture it as a perfume ad.
I have my shortlist of Xerjoff that I’m waiting for good deals on (maybe US Thanksgiving or UK Boxing day sales), but you got me really curious about the smell of angels. Will check this out.

One part that I omitted from Fred's story was that she said, the he smelt so good that she wanted to eat him😳😂 now that's a Naxos ad!!

@@TheNicheFragranceCollector There are few perfumes that I also spray on my hair, as long as they’re alcohol free. 😊😂 Now that’s a hilarious continuation on Fred’s story. It’s one that will bring a smile to his face whenever he sprays Naxos. Ah my YT name used to be the same as my IG but I realised I have shortened it at some point. It’s Genefel from the UK. P.S. I’m going to try to be responsible and “disciplined” with my perfume purchases in the upcoming sales, haha.

My first purchase was Naxos, Starlight, Via Cavour 1, and I splurged and blind bought the 100ml of Pikovaya Dama, based on descriptions and reviews I knew I would like it, which is an understatement
Started with nexos , I’m going to cop nio next and go down the line ! Love how it stays on my body consistently

Well done Marcelo!!! Xerjoff is such a huge line there is a lot to explore. Personally, I started with Mefisto and Mefisto Gentiluomo. Next went into Uden, Erba Pura, Nio and Naxos. Now I’m on to Richwood.

Great vid. I have Alexandria II. It’s amazing. Want rich wood. Probably my next Xerjoff. Of the 1861 collection I have all but Decas. Zefiro is by far my favorite. Naxos is nice but it’s something about Zefiro on my skin
So I would put you in the Veteran category Shawn 💪🏾...being that you already have Zefiro and love it! Not many talk or even know about this fragrance, and unfortunately they're missing out.

@The Niche Fragrance Collector I'll check the video out now. I agree about zefiro. It's sad that it's so criminally underrated. The hidden gem of Xerjoff. I'm ok with that. More for us! Another one that doesn't get as much attention as I think it should is Starlight. It's soooooooo long lasting and smells super sexy. Just wish they would bring it out in 100 ml
Marcelo I am very new to the fragrance community. Xerjoff is quickly becoming my favorite house of niche perfumes. After owning a few perfumes from some of the other expensive houses such as Creed/Bond no.9 etc, Xerjoff has some of the sexiest presentation when unboxing their product, it really puts some of the other houses to shame IMHO.
My first two Xerjoff perfumes were Naxos and Alexandria II, yes I know two very broad ends of the spectrum 😂. I blind bought both of them based on other viewers experiences with them. My nose is still learning to uncover the beauty in these perfumes, and when I sprayed Naxos on the scent test strip I immediately was in awe of how that beautiful undertone of Honey just kept captivating me over and over again with each sniff. Then when I sprayed Alexandria II on the scent test strip I was very confused at the smell of it. I even wondered if maybe I had a bad batch, because I just couldn’t get into the smell. Needless to say I was very disappointed and left my house thinking that I had made a mistake by blind buying such an expensive fragrance based on others comments and their experiences with it.
So I was out and about running errands for about two hours or so and then I had finally returned back home. As I walked in the door I couldn’t wait to go take another sniff of Naxos on the scent test strip that I had left in front of the bottle, and again I was immediately in heaven with the smell. I then decided to also smell the scent test strip that I left in front of Alexandria II to see if anything had changed, and OMG something beautiful happened! I suddenly couldn’t stop smelling it over and over again, it was as if a new area of my brain had been unlocked, and now I could appreciate this beautiful masterpiece 🥰.
I really appreciate your expertise, enthusiasm and humor that you display when speaking about these beautiful fragrances. I just ordered 40 knots & I also ordered Erba Pura to slowly get more into that Gourmand category. I really enjoyed the video with you and your lovely daughter, it has inspired me to also give Uden overdose a try in the near future. Then after that I plan on ordering Richwood 😊.

I'm flying to London tomorrow (to see a Porcupine Tree concert :)) and one of my first to-do tasks after I land is to get some ATH perfumes :) The discovery box is sold out, I really want to try his iris (Homme) and tobacco (Tabac) fragrances. Also hear Oud is fantastic.

Depending on what’s in the box of ATH, Try Hard Candy / Raw Cherry. If it’s cold, “daddy” is great. Hard Candy was a limited release so in the upcoming months he will be releasing hard candy elixir

I absolutely love ATH here’s my top 5 recommendations
Start with Onyx, I personally don’t wear it, but this is the fragrance that introduced me to perfumery as art.
Oud, this is an absolutely amazing blend of several ouds, Aaron is passionate about Oud and this shows it
Boss Bastard, one of his best sellers, very masculine scent, tobacco and woods
Guapo, citrus and vetiver, very clean, gentlemanly, professional
Daddy, I love this one and get so many compliments, apple, sweetness , and very wearable clean Oud
Round it out, summer freshy, Haze blue and black, very similar, black is a bit heavier and deeper. Aaron suggests layering them
My honorable mentions: Legend, Ozone, and Neon is a great dumb reach fresh fragrance

Completely agree with the fragrances being genderless. Wifey is indulging in quite a few purchases😳 but she went for Richwood first, Overdose over the Naxos then Tony Iommi 😂… my chin shook as it was her third purchase but as she opened the Tony Iommi box , my mouth dropped, it smelled great on her. I might add she’s wearing them daily. I didn’t allow her to watch today 🤣…. As if ….. Not enjoying Myer having Xerjoff next door to her work, you’re killing me Marcelo😂. We both love the content ,

Iommi sold itself as we’re both Black Sabbath nuts, but she’s wearing it. Her face though,is like yours when she inhales 😳😬 But we are enjoying the vids, we’re both Josh Agle lovers as well, so I have to support her habit now .🤣😂. She’s back home to Sydney in a few weeks, I’m nervous😬
I am into fragrances for 23+ years and Niche maybe 3 years. I tried Tony Iommi 2 days ago. I found it really difficult. I kept going back to the test stripe because its smells really good. Its a very interesting fragrance. But at the moment I cant imagine wearing it. La Capitale was delicious. I really liked Decas and have to try it more intensely. Torino 21 and Accento I purchased. I also purchased 40 Knots but find it difficult, so I might sell it.

My recommendation is don’t sell 40 Knots this is quite a divine and complex fragrance. You will love it over the summer. Bought a full 100ml bottle of that last year but could not wear it. But I will follow your advice and keep the 40 Knots bottle and see how it will be in summer.

I don't think you should stress over answering to comments. Everything doesn't deserve/need a response or a reaction. I'm a Xerjoff vet, niche vet too.
New recruits are going to be the obvious ones: Naxos, Comandante for men; Erba Pura and Accento Overdose for women. Torino21 works also. La Capitale is a tad sweet perhaps, not too safe as a daily wear.
Semi-pro: Alexandria II, Ouverture. Iommi to me is a tad higher. Starlight also higher to me, hard to find use cases for it. For women, it's more-so Casamorati than Xerjoff that would fit here. I do think Opera is not a recruit fragrance because it's VERY loud, so consider that.
Veteran: A2 to me isn't difficult enough for it to be veteran, Luxor and Ceylon are more tougher wears from Xerjoff as a house. Golden Dallah also, to me, is veteran - have to be proper experienced to enjoy it. For women, I'd probably say Indochine which is a tropical fruity-oud.

Alexandria II could be for everyone, even for complete beginners. I have this one and haven't found anyone yet that dislikes this one. Which is very rare for me since i have sometimes challenging perfumes and there s always someone who hates it but not with Alexandria 2. I absolutely recommend to everyone 💙
the opening is the hard part the drydown is definitely very easy to wear

Agree that Torino 21 is great, but in my opinion there a unisex hidden gem in xerjoff, the Golden Dallah.
I don't know if you heard about Estoras, a brand new luxury niche perfume house, and so far it has came out with on scent called Antal. The house and this scent also has a strong connection to Hungary (btw Antal is a hungarian first name). I have to say I own Antal, and it is fabolous. I would love to see a video about it you make, it deserves to be known worldwide!

Great to hear from you Riccardo, I would say that it is female leaning. However this is one of the fragrances that I love wearing and I get compliments from both men and women of how good I smell.
The hardest part for you will be as you smell the fragrance projecting off you, that you feel confident wearing it.
I would recommend that you go to your closest Xerjoff stockist, and spray 3 times, 2 on your chest area and one on your arm and then see how the fragrance makes you feel… this will give you a great sillage and tease your nose with the fragrance rather than overpower you with the scent

I would go with Iommi but.....how are you with the oud note? If you love oud, then I would go with Alexandria II
Iommi will be instant love. Easy wear all year round (although it's magical during the cooler months)
Alexandria II is a heavenly scent but only if you're familiar with oud. It's not a pungent oud note (or faecal like) but it is present. I know that when I tested this fragrance very early in my niche journey, I didn't enjoy it because the oud note really jumped out too much for me....but now🥰

I actually dont like Naxos and ive been in the fragrance game since september and the niche game since november and ive been trying to getting to know naxos and how it develops but i dont like the tobacco scent mixed with the honey and i get kind of a headic from it i know this is a really big hot take!

Do you get any laundry-smell with Torino21? My female friend told me about it and now I can't not smell it haha.
Hmmmm, I don't. To my nose I get way too many herbal notes coming through...there is lemon citrus vibe but I don't feel it over powers the other notes.
But I know that this can happen as a lot of 'home' products love to use citrus in their scent profile.

@@TheNicheFragranceCollector I have Tony, also own : Uden , Symphonium , Golden Moka, Alexandria 2, Richwood, Starlight and Comandante. ,maybe next year I pick up Naxos with other couple of Xerjoffs . I have a rule of only buying 5 or6 bottles per year this way I keep my collection at small size :) All my xerjoffs are 50 ML and trying to keep it at 50 ML, this is why I was hoping Naxos would come in that size. Also found out , Alexandria can be worn in hot 30 celsius weather, I was in Florida at music festival and it was 28 celsius and all I smelled was that scent everywhere, so people do wear it in hot hot weather while being outside

well im new into xerjoff , but i take Alexandria 2 , one or if not the best oud , woody rose fragrance ever created, i take also 400 is amazing that juice, a bit smelling like naxos or i can describe 400 as Black orchid by TF dipped in honey, Naxos was my first xerjoff i start it with, zefiro not for me incense yuck & richwood again that patchouli , i hate patchuli no me gusta

Yep, totally agree with your comment Leo…I use it more as a reference marker for those who are new to niche (feminine more florals, masculine for woods) so they can get a feeling where the fragrance sits.

Sorry to tell but tony iomi is a headache bomb. Very loud and not elegant at all. Like its screaming for attention. I wanted to love this one, but a big pass for me
Hi Marcelo, you've given me real food for thought in respect of Xerjoff. Just when I was fairly happy with my collection up pops Tommi Iommi, Starlight and Torino21. The latter was always on my list but I'm content to wait until Northern Hemisphere Spring/Summer 2023. The other 2 are immediately tempting me. Now for ATH! I'm a huge fan. Suggestions include Maverick, Haze Blue or Black, Homme, Guapo, Onyx/ Onyx Extreme, Tabac, Daddy and Luna. Be aware that Aaron has huge plans for 2023 with exciting new releases coupled with several reformulations (to make existing fragrances even better). I follow him on Instagram to keep up with the latest news. He has been based in Mexico for several months in preparation for 2023 but due to return to the UK soon to scale up his new creations. I could get a job in his PR Department lol. Oh and I can also highly recommend ATH Hard Candy. It was a 2022 Limited release but my understanding is that it should be back next year. If it is, just buy it! And last but not least, he is working with Chris from Fragmental on another creation, Smoulder 2. It'll be his 2nd co-creation with Chris, the first being Smoulder (another limited release that I was fortunate to pick up). I think that covers it 😉
I love that you're the guy on the 'inside' with all things ATH...nice work Sandy and thank you for the recommendations that you listed here.
I'm compiling the recommendations that have been coming in and I will report back in the upcoming Mate Talk the 5 that I will test....it's been great that so many are passionate about these fragrance's.
Lastly on your Xerjoff collection, if you only have money for one, then I would zero in on Tony...this is perfect for winter.

I'm a huge fan of ATH - the man is a genius. My favourite ATH fragrance is Maverick. It's total perfection. Btw I'm currently pondering whether Penhaligon’s Halfeti Cedar is full bottle worthy. No doubt I'll give in sooner rather than later. I'm also tempted to dive further into Amouroud. I have Wet Stone and Lunar Vetiver but not sure where to go next. I'm inclined to try some of the original black bottle collection with Oud Tabac, Oud du Jour or Miel Sauvage in the running.

I would suggest to you in the following order:
- Silver Birch (suade leather but with a fig note tuning through it…my favourite in the range
- Mysterious Rose; warm rich ambery rose
- Oud Tabac
- Santal does Indes: really nice deep warm sandalwood fragrance
