Thanks for listening 😃
I LOVE Thursdays ❤
Cheers, Kitka! Me too 😃
Thanks for finding me again, Kitka! 🙏 Your most recent note has curiously vanished 🤔🤔🤔
I am currently on cancer medication. I have been improving. Every Thursday I have to taken a steroid that tends to keep me from sleeping well. You're stories have been a wonderful light in my life these past months since I found your channel. I pray for your continued success. Love the Misfits. This was a great stlory. Unexpected and moving ending.
Thanks for sharing, Buddy 🙏😃 You have no idea how much the thought of lessening the burden even the tiniest bit makes me feel good about all the work I put in to sharing these stories with everyone. I only know the struggle second-hand, but that's close enough to know how hard it can be. Best of luck with your treatment and getting back to good health ❤
Beautiful compliment; we all wish you the strength you need. I can imagine closing your eyes to a good soothing story is a blessing as opposed to watching or reading. P. E.'s voice is also very relaxing, indeed. Best wishes.
Peace and love to you. Count me as one more soul on your side.
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
In time I believe this talented writer will be held with the giants of the sci fi genre. Possibly even surpassing I would love to see what a production company between PE Rowe and Isaac author could bring to the world
Thanks, my friend 🙏😃
You’ve got to listen to “Mouse of Small Things” Brilliant 😊
@@rlbf1967 yes. I loved that one too. The fact that he can put out such good content so regularly is something special.
@@rlbf1967 Just recorded a craft talk for Mouse, Richard. Should be out soon if you'd like to hear the "behind the scenes" on it!
It would be impossible for me to list all of the reason's that Rowe's prose is among the best of current writers but one of those reasons it thinks: he has created this vast universe (the Roseverse?) and he can tell a story that affects whole solar systems or he can focus down onto a single individual who has been shaped by the greater forces that he has described in his more epic and sweeping tails. The scope of his imaginings is impressive, but as always, the devil is in the details.
Thanks, Adrien! I don't know how it turned into a whole universe. I just started with one story 😂 Then I guess it got out of control! Glad you're enjoying this crazy adventure 🙏😃
What a wonderful and fragile world was woven. Thank you for the tale.
Cheers, Noah! Glad you enjoyed it 🙏
Feeling stunned after an intense hour of immersion in this latest story. I can hardly form a single thought, my mind is so full of the imagery, progression through eons, to their final return to the physical world. How do you create and fit such an epic tale into just over an hour of reading without sacrificing descriptive detail, philosophy, portent and heart ?
So impressive, so satisfying!!
The conclusion that we do not need to be gods to have meaning, just humble people with a right purpose is quite lovely.
As to a topic suggestion... I'd love to see what your wide and deep ranging mind could do with the subject of raising and educating children in the different environments of your universe.
Many of your characters are young adults and are very rounded , thoughtful people. It may be interesting to explore the parents' and society's approach and philosophy.
Yet again, a huge thank you, P.E. Rowe.
Thanks, Cecile! A big part of the secret (that's not so secret if you know my Mechanics channel) is that the reader does a lot of the most important work making the story manifest in their own mind. So give yourself a little credit too 😃
Thanks for that topic suggestion🙏 I'll put it on the list for the next poll!
Rowe, what an imagination. This was an exciting and clever story. Thanks as always
Thanks, Dave! Glad you enjoyed it 😃
You get the like before I listen! SUPERB story man! You really have the voice thing going….. Thank You.
Thanks, Steve! Much appreciated 🙏 It's definitely been a learning curve with the voice, but I'm happy it's been better lately!
Thank you so much! Your stories are amazing.
Thanks, Davis! Glad you're enjoying 😃
This is an amazing story. What could you learn in a millennium of artificial life?
As an aside, this would be a great educational process to absolute mastery of the most difficult abilities.
Cheers, 2Kittys! I could definitely write a lot of stories in there 😃
The dreamers, my oh my. I could have eternal debates about this topic. To much for a comment section. I have just an idea how to usefully implement this “experiment”, think about it as an educational tool/exercise. How much you could learn from millennia of experience taking into account how would you implement this learning experience into the real world. Maybe we could become too smart for our own good/health. Sincerely I was expecting them to be sent to the vault. Thanks for the story.
Cheers, Mario! It would be a great tool for education if we could pull that off 🤔 Very similar beings now to those acolytes. I feel like this is not the end for these dreamers 😃
Most excellent. I was almost thinking you were going to tether together their real reality to another matrix.
Multiple matrices 😮 Sounds like math class, Ed! 😃
Virtual Utopias was right in your wheel house ,as your world building is fantastic. Even so this is a uniquely amazing story. Awesome work. Elements of the matrix, and with real understanding of gaming addictions, and human flaws, and frailties. With a triumphant ending! I wish much success with your new outlets. you already are the most amazing thing going on RUclips. You are among the great science fiction geniuses already.
Thanks, MrIzzy 🙏😃 I really liked this one as well, but it was funny. I had it on the schedule for a long time and had no idea what to do with it, until I guess I figured it out. It's genuinely gratifying to hear you're enjoying my work so much. I love doing it, so I guess I'll keep going 😂
The pleasure is all mine. I appreciate your interaction with the listeners. It feels like a sports hero who still signs autographs!. I mention the virtual utopia wheelhouse, because i had no idea what the story would be like though either In retrospect it seems kind of obvious now, which is a hallmark of genius. ,.(i should mention i love the community picked stories it something I've never seen before. . But not to digress too much.) When i heard the story. It hit me what an amazing combination of ideas! What a solution to a new story idea! That is why i think you are a genius.
Ha! I don't feel like a sports hero, just me 😃I do appreciate your appreciation, MrIzzy 🙏 I also find it very much invigorating interacting with commenters here (and elsewhere). Speaking of pro athletes, I had a friend who grew up with a pro golfer. My friend got a bunch of tickets to a tournament nearby, so I went with him to see his friend play. At the time, he was a fringe player who didn't have his tour card yet. He's since done very well for himself. He was paired that day with none other than Tiger Woods at the height of Tigermania--early 2000s. So we walked the course with his friend's family, and our small group (among hundreds) were the only people there to support Tiger's playing partner that day. When the round was over, Tiger made straight for the clubhouse (not a criticism of Tiger--there were thousands of people there to see him), but my friend's friend stood out there in that crowd when the round was over and signed every autograph, shook every hand, and took every picture until there was no one left but his family waiting for him. He was gracious, friendly, grateful, polite--a gentleman, through and through. And when he was done it was almost like he took off that public energy like it was an accessory and then became himself again with his friends and family around (still a super nice guy, btw). Anyway, if memory serves me, he didn't win his tour card that year or even the following year, but he continued to play on the PGA tour because all the tournaments have sponsor exemptions--where they get to choose a few players without their card to compete. And he always got picked by the sponsors because crowds loved him. He must have signed at least 300 autographs that day. I never forgot it.
You are the same as your friend, your fan interactions are the most extensive and thoughtful I've ever seen. You too are a "super nice guy" and it is appreciated.
Brilliant
Cheers, Hartley 🙏😃
I think this is your 80 year old fan's favorite.
One of this 77 year olds too.
Cheers, Linda 🙏😃 One of my favorite to write in a while!
It’s up for a minute and I’m like yeeeeeeah Mr Rowe is at it again!
Cheers, Eedjit! Back at it! We'll see you next week for Deep Space Assassin!
I throughly enjoy this story ,the emersiveness of the nation and the limitless imagination is out of this world. Man you need too sell this too a network we need a series at least or a movie at best .
Thanks, Darrel! Glad you enjoyed it 😃 Maybe someday something like that will happen. My hope is maybe next generation anime 🤔
@@RoweLit anime , Yessir most definitely
Sweet
The ultimate escapism.
Cheers, Lady Ponfarr!
I been busy so I missed last week. I will listen to stuff on RUclips when I’m at work, but only your stories if I can pay good attention Rowe. But here I found out I was caught up anyways!😊
Cheers, Pharming! Thanks for listening (regardless of the setting) 🙏
This is one of your best Mr Rowe. I love this idea.
@r.e.m, Cheers! It is definitely one of my recent favorites 😃
Ok wunderkid…..at the creation and jumping off point in this story I was gone! I jumped in with both feet, imagined the choice I would make between paradise and the gloomy estuarine town I currently call home. It’s a road many young people have chosen, parents leaving meals at the door for weeks even months and years, but who can blame them when one looks at the mess we have created from paradise. A cautionary tale filled with natural wonderful details. Your breadth of imagination and work rate I find staggering, you have become that weeklong waited for story that needs a snack, drink and the do not disturb sign on the bedroom door.
Thanks, Philip. I wouldn't dare usurp Isaac's catch phrase 😂 but a drink and a snack are never a bad idea during a long story 😃 Glad you enjoyed this one!
I think this story is one of the most important one you have written. It speaks to a very real problem in our society. The amazing thing about the story is that rather than portraying the virtual world as a shadow of the real one it does the opposite. This is important because for many people the virtual world is so much more real and vivid then the actual world. If I could pick one story of yours to be made into a movie it might be this one. The story raises questions on how we could make the virtual world more educational and people in the real world feel more connected. One reason I love science fiction is because it is a genre that can make us think about how we can make the world a better place.
Thanks, Roger! It's often difficult for me to have a great feel for what the story is when I upload, as I'm too close to them on such a short timeline. This story, though, I loved when I uploaded and was excited to share it. Part of what I loved about it was that exploration of the real and virtual worlds we all wrestle with these days. Glad you appreciate it too!
RUclips is full of AI-generated fiction. None of it even begins to reach the complexity and depth of these stories, and it is hard for me to imagine that it ever could. Bravo, Mr Rowe.
Cheers, Michael! Even if AI starts writing great fiction, I'm not going to stop writing the best stories I can each week. We humans need to keep making human art 😃
I could never have guessed where this was going
Thanks, Jason! It took a little while for me to figure that out 😃
Such a powerful story with lessons applicable to our rather more real world than Rossa or the “tin can”. It’s easy to get lost in our own heads and maybe easier still to get lost in someone else’s head, eg, the visionary PE Rowe. This is not in and of itself a good or bad thing. It becomes one or the other based on how we manage that “getting lost”, “day tripping”, or dreaming. We live in many worlds, but for now it seems we are most heavily invested in our “real world”. This is where we are not omnipotent so this is where must take extra care. In our sojourns to other worlds we can be less concerned with dotting all the i’s.
I really like this story because of its quasi morality tale nature.
Thanks, John. Glad you enjoyed this one. With 90 stories now, I enjoy some more than others, and this is one that I really liked a lot. For someone who spends a lot of time in fictional universes, I should probably put this on every now and again!
Can't believe I'm first! What a treat!
Thanks, Charlie! I was a few minutes late because my computer changed time zones on me, but you were waiting to pounce 🤣
Well done 👍 Amazing story ❤
Cheers, MediaBot! Glad you enjoyed it 😃
I'm going to listen to this one for the second time tonight. Again, I really admire the creativity needed to come up with short stories. James Cameron got the Terminator idea from an 1962 Outer Limits episode called "Soldier". To create and convey an immersive setting story in a short(er) amount of time demands more descriptive 'power' from an author than the time one has to build up a universe as in a space opera. You do this excepionally well :) I see people really became attached to the Misfits and I get it. Of course. I love it when you come up yet another short story. Kinda like when your spoon gets a piece of cookie dough in your Ben&Jerry! 😊
Thanks, Holzman! I suppose there's a lot of inspiration here too. A nice mix of very cool stories that I've loved. Speaking of mixes, I'm enjoying mixing both the Misfits and the other stories on the channel. It's a fun balance to write to!
This is what I love about your stories - they always have something to get you thinking and your idea of nanotechnology that allows a user to experience accelerated time in the virtual world prompts lots of sci-fi-inspired science questions. For example (what jumped out at me) given the brain runs at fairly slow rate this means that you experience memories created in the nanotech that act as your proxy in the magical-time of the virtual world. Very cool, brilliant and thought provoking as ever Mr. Rowe! Awesome!!
Thanks, Richard! I like these type of stories too--the ones that question the way we think and perceive. It's a fun topic to explore 🤯
I am always both flabergasted and elated at the quality of your work. Thank you
Thank you, Ty 🙏😃 Glad you enjoyed!
Terrifying idea. So glad they were able to make something good out of their experience.
Thanks, Gramma! 🙏😃
Wonderful story ❤ perfectly weaved in into the Misfits realm
Cheers, Saulius! Glad you enjoyed it 😃
I've really enjoyed thinking about this story after listening to it earlier this week. Thank you!!
Another excellent story. Thank you for sharing it with us. I was wondering if you had ever read an old short story called The Werewolves of Luna? Its about a moon based casino that is VR gaming. the large tournament is a DND style. I wish I could remember the author. It must be over 30 years old. It predates any computer game like it. It did a great job of showing how addictive the virtual world can be.
Cheers, SC. R. Garcia y Robertson is your guy, in Asimov's 1994. I wasn't familiar with the story or his work, but this google machine works major good 😃Sounds interesting! I'll have to see if I can find that story (and the time to read it)!
@@RoweLit lol I kept getting cheesy romance novels when I searched. Lesson learned never let you wife use your account lol.
I can totally picture those covers 🤣
@@RoweLit I'm going to have to burn my computer now for sure.
So much for sitting in front of your monitor consuming soda pop and hot pockets until you are too fat to move. Think South Parks episode "Make love not Warcraft".
We can still kill boars in the forest, right? Right? 😂😂😂 How else are we going to get powerful enough to take over Rossa?
Once again you hit it out of the ballpark PE Rowe! I just finished my second reading, the first was on a plane with a good bit of turbulence that had my eyeballs bouncing around my skull like a pinball machine! Thoroughly enjoyed!
Thanks, Ske! Glad you enjoyed it 🙏😃 A nice world to escape to from a turbulent plane! 😮✈
You're amazing. I love hearing the you expand the entities in your universe into whole universes themselves.
Cheers, Tyotypic! That's the fun part for me too 😃
Took me a few listens to piece the beginning middle and end. Really enjoyed the end, i honestly had that goosebump feeling. Cheers Row.
Thanks, Alistair! Glad you enjoyed it 😃🙏
Coming back strong. Great story. ❤
Cheers, DVD 🙏 Glad you enjoyed it!😃
Great story! Video games are bad for you kids!
😂If the kids in my generation had a dollar for every time we heard that, our parents woulda gone broke 😃 Cheers, GreyGhost!
Wow, such a great background story!
Thanks, Christof! Glad you enjoyed it 🙏😃
Excellent
This is one of your best!❤️
Thanks, Lisa! One of my recent favorites too 😃🙏
Thanks!
Thank you for the support, Casard 🙏😃 It's very much appreciated!
Love this!
Cheers, Panda! Glad to hear it 😃
Kids these days... Sheesh.
Techno Utopia warning to the future.
Or perhaps it is a wisdom generator. ;)
Who knows, Karl? We may get to find out! 😂
Unfortunately, people are starting to live like this. One Japanese couple allowed their actual baby to starve to death while they occupied themselves with their digital child.
😮I can definitely understand obsession, but dame dayo!
Mark CEN CA I saw the original matrix in the movie theater after the first 15 minutes I spent the rest of the movie trying to figure out how this could work😂
That was a fun ride that first one. I almost missed it because the marketing for it was so weak. But I couldn't resist a cool-looking sci-fi movie. One of the best cinema surprises I ever got!
@@RoweLit you know thats true Mr PE Mark CEN CA
PE ok this is the whole thing 😂 Mark CEN CA
And a little extra, Mark! 😃
Nice
Cheers, Benjamin 😃
Living, imagining outside the box while in the box. A game's expansion and what might come from it. What's real? Thanks P. E. 😊
Cheers, Casard!
🖖🖖
LL&P 😃
Interesting drift from science fiction into fantasy, not sure 🤔
To there and back again, Peter 😃
I'm sorry PE not for me this scenario couldn't work in my matrix brain😂 too many things couldn't work but can't please everybody all the time the misfits on the other hand made me feel part of
Not all for everybody, Mark! Thanks for listening 🙏😃
Mark CEN CA not for me magic the game 😂
🪄🌟
Mark CEN CA uh no
Mark CEN CA NOPE
Could not get interested in this one
I have much enjoyed other but stories, even Mouse.
But = bug
Thanks, Martin! Always appreciate the feedback and the support. I do my best to please all the people all the time 😃
A miss for me im afraid.
Give it a second shot. try it without distraction. It is not action packed, but It is chocked full of insight into gaming addiction and how gamers and utopias are both susceptible to human greed , obsessions , conceits, and other human imperfections of various kinds and degrees, and how reality will win out eventually. Yet with some wisdom, humility and altruism produced in the end. All with the Rowian (yes he deserves his own adjective) touches of great dialog and realistic reactions and feelings .
Cheers, mate! Appreciate the listen and hope the next one lands for you 🙏
Sweet
Thanks, Michael!
