I look forward to your stories every week. The mythology that you are weaving across your stories in my own personal memory space sits with the greats of the genre. Your nuanced readings of them bring life to your characters with a subtlety that mere words could not. Thank you for this recurrent gift to us, to me.
Thanks, Jason 😃🙏 So glad to hear you're enjoying!
The ultimate tie in. I never saw it coming. Well played sir. Well played.
Thanks, Greyghost 🐭 ha ha. You can't say I didn't tease it either 😃
Once again, 80 year old fan loves it!
Thanks, Linda! Glad to hear it 😃
64 yr fan loves this bloke too . Excellent narrator as well
I loved hearing the recent discoveries surrounding the human gut biome in a story! 🎉
Thanks, Morgan! I had to read up a bit to write about it, especially since they don't seem to know much about the obelisks yet. Now I can't wait to hear about new discoveries.
Wow, a prequel to Mouse! What a pleasant surprise considering the tone of the story.
Your words on totality echo my own experience, I too skipped in 2017 for reasons I cannot reconcile. It was unforgettable.
Thanks, MJ! Those obelisks belong in that creepy lab 🤣 Yeah, I had no plans until checking the weather on Saturday because I expected it to get clouded out. Weather since: partly sunny, overcast & rainy, overcast & rainy, overcast & rainy, overcast & rainy, overcast & rainy. It was the best day of the year so far!
Cant believe i see this so fast!! I look so forward to your stories!!
Cheers, Revana 😃🙏🚀
i'm looking forward to next Thursday !:-)
Thank you, Barry! It's been fun following all your comments! They are much appreciated! So glad you're enjoying my work 😃🙏😃🙏😃🙏
Hot diggity dog, it's PE Rowe story time, favourite time of the week...
Cheers, MDS 😃🙏
Another typically awesome story.
Thanks, Ron!
So excited! Thanks for the new story, can’t wait to listen to another masterpiece from you!
Thanks, Keith! 😃🙏
Wow. Very exciting. Absolutely spell binding. Thank you Rowe.
Cheers, Dave! 😃🙏
Crumbs you’ve out Umbrella’d and Mesa’d the pair of them! Brilliant story Mr. Rowe😃😃😃
Another great story ….thanks PE.
Thanks, Steve! Glad you enjoyed 🙏
Once again, thank you for a unique story.
Thanks, Charles! The first obelisk story (we think) 😃
Excellent story, yet again!
Thanks, Ian. Glad you enjoyed it!
You save my Thursdays❤😊
Thanks, Kitka 😃🙏🚀 Working hard to help people get to Friday 🤣
Thanks for the upload, really enjoyed the story
Cheers, Cosmik! Glad you enjoyed 😃🙏
Anybody know if the sabaka stick (spelling?) mentioned in many P.E. Rowe stories is based on a real game?
Not yet, Dan! All I know is it's hard as hell and awesome 😃 The muse may teach me the rules one day, but I'll never be as good as Sosh.
@@RoweLit I will stop my confusing inquiries to easy sellers :)
I saw the eclipse! It was the first time I've had the chance to do it and don't expect to live to see the next. The reason I couldn't go in 2017 because my wife was on peritoneal dialysis.
See, that's a far more legit reason than my sad excuse. The real reason is that I had no idea what I was missing out on. Had I only known ...
@@RoweLit I'm sure you are young enough for the next time, I'm 70 and not in the greatest health.
Mark CEN CA 😊 I'm saving the story until the battery runs really low and then I'll listen to the whole thing while it's plugged up but I must say it sounds interesting already Justin the last couple of minutes that I listened looking forward to it
Cheers, Mark! 🙏
@@RoweLit Mark CEN CA thanks PE have a great day 😁
Once again, you make important observations about humanity! Well done!
Cheers, LaVera! Plus, I had to figure out how Mouse got in there 😃
Congratulations how you managed to get this topic, this dystopian story turned into an unexpected prequel! I am every time surprised how all the stories expand just deeper into the universe you have created.
Thanks, Christof! That topic took a while to figure out, but a little mouse must have whispered in my ear while I was sleeping.
Microbiome shout out!! Mine are delighted to hear mention of their world expressed in digestible ways. Thank you for writing and publishing your work!!
Cheers, OP 🤣Happy to share 🙏 How is there no gut biome emoji?
It's still quite strange (to me) that narrators feel obliged - or indeed obliged to put disclaimers in front of a story.
Has no one ever read Shelley's Frankenstein or anything by Lovecraft or HG Wells, amongst many others?
Fact can be stranger and more disturbing than fiction and it's not beyond the bounds of possibility that biological research into things as described in this story has already produced some sinister results.
It's a well known fact that humanity has lived under the threat of annihilation for the best part of century, I was even aware of this before I was ten years old!
It's disturbing but that's the world we live in. Maybe current generations are more psychologically fragile (unstable?) than we were, point is, I just find the need for these disclaimers rather odd.
Anyways, apart from that, that was an interesting topic and a great story to boot!
I would like to add, apropos of all of the above, it would not be unappreciated if every now and again, if you can find it within yourself (you're extremely talented and these stories don't write themselves) to dive a little further into the abyss and come up with some more disturbing nightmarish material, themes that will truly have pearls being clutched tightly to breast etc.
I know not everybody will be on the same page as me as imagine a lot of people come here for the more cerebral stuff, but hey, that's just the way I roll - sometimes.
Thanks, Paul! It's funny, as a reader I agree 100% and as a teacher, I would never put a "trigger warning" on content. Literature is art, and art is a reflection of life, which, as you say, gets plenty dark. As a content creator, though, especially a writer, whose job is to generate images that resonate with and come to life in the minds of readers, my concern is that people have the opportunity to opt out of something dark they don't want bouncing around in their head. My tone varies a lot over the course of the channel, and I don't go that dark that often, so I don't love the idea of creeping out anyone who wouldn't want to go there. But either my gauge is off, or it's a damned if you do/don't scenario. Thanks so much for your feedback!
@@RoweLit Should the onus always be on you?
To quote from the bible, "If thine eye offend thee, pluck it out!
Alternatively, just click to something else!
Just sayin! 🤔😅
@@paulross225 That is about as simple as it gets, and so very true.
Thanks, Paul! Good points. I won't be plucking out any eyeballs today, but I do have a tooth that's been bugging me 🤣 Yes, the bar to exit is very low. Truth.
And so we see how mouse would come to be.
Cheers, Craig! 😃🙏
Thank you
Cheers, Bero!
Ahhh! Time to decompress for an hour. Thank you for Thursdays!❤
Thanks, Tara! 😃🙏
Ah… there it is.
Excellent! I'd like to visit your mind,, but I wouldn't want to live there 😂
Cheers, Peter! It's kind of a mix of 🤪😧🤣. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Creator bless the Archimedes of every Universe.
... thank You 🙂🖖🏼
Cheers, Nemo 🙏
Made me THINK 🤔!
.The first great science fiction Obelisk story ever told!! Of the micro viroid like type, not the 2001 Space Odyssey type. It was a great story too . but strangely the android should have been named HAL ! maybe. Good ending too. Its my weirdness that I'm reminded of Robert Sapolsky for his great lectures from Stanford for free here on RUclips . , Perhaps mixed with some Josef Mengele, or the Clone Wars or the Reavers in the movie Serenity . Great job.
Thanks, MrIzzy! It was a great suggestion! 😃🙏 And a winning one at that! Can you tell I've watched those lectures 🤣?
i thought you might well have.
Rowe you need a "(ROWELIT) " post in the comment section here. That can also serve as place to submit poll ideas.
How about this - Kristoff is captured! and made to reveal secret info on the artifacts. While leading ( insert villain) to an artifact he is transported back in time to earth! and meets and guides Julian H.! With his future understanding especially about robots!. ! Then leaves earth in a Julian H cylinder. to found the1st colony outside the solar system . Then he gets/creates a pet !! an enhanced parrot! (named Sabastion) trained to fly in zero G! The 1st space pet.! Once at the new moon around a gas giant in that solar system They meet aliens - thought not very advanced ones. the most advance is four legged spider like creature in the bronze age. and a wooly mammoth like creature that can communicate, but can.t make tools. Both can be dangerous but they are generally more curious than threatening.! ( this could take several polls )
Thanks, MrIzzy 🤣Well, I must confess to being too much of a control freak to allow the Misfits futures to blow in the breeze of the audience poll, much as I respect the wisdom of this particular crowd 😃 But I do have IP reasons for never going deeper on a poll topic than a few words. Topic or theme but no more.
Btw, at some point while investigating space cylinders, I stumbled upon a very detailed post where some mathematicians, physicists, and experts in flight were discussing how birds might fly in a zero-G or spin-G environment like a space cylinder. Very cool!
@@RoweLit Oh come on be a sport .We love the misfits and Kristoff - just hanging out. . I can't recall if there were birds in Rendezvous with Rama? but i think there were?
Awesome so this is the robot rabbit and the immortal mouse? Thanks PE you are great!
Wow. Dark, as you warned. But there is much to ponder here.
Thanks, Gramma! Yes, if it was only darkness, I probably would have gone in another direction. But hopefully it's a useful visit to the dark side.
The term "inhumanism", learned and applied, could be a very good thing.
Here's hoping 😃🙏
What the f-- Rowe.
No painfully stupid plot
No shallow characters
No naked women
No senseless slaughter
And I couldn’t stop listening.
Cheers, AB! I rely on an audience with sophisticated tastes 😀 You'll know I'm in trouble when I start cramming all of the above into every story 🤣
Sweet
🙏
Naturally, I am thinking of Mouse of small things. 🤔 so exciting.
🤫🐭😃
@@RoweLit oh and my partner who oddly is not a sci-fi lover like I am listened to mouse as she loves mice and she really loved that story.
Awesome! Converting new sci-fi fans one mouse at a time 🐁🐁🐁😃
Brilliant!
Cheers, Lisa!
Where I live was total eclipse coverage too.
Lol. the Biome is God, there's a reason it's called a gut feeling.
Thanks, Dennis 🤣 My garden consists of leeks and kale right now. It's early yet, but my bacteria this year are telling me to be more ambitious 😃

Ah, here we go. I didn't listen when it dropped. I'm all caught up now......
Brutal
Listeners should follow up after this story with a previous story called Mouse of small things. I'm curious to know what will happen with Morans 'necklace'?
Thanks, Mark! Perhaps one day we shall see ... 🤔
Kindly asking to avoid trigger warnings. I asume these stories are not meant for children. Good work!
Thanks, vizardl, especially for asking kindly 😃

Poor poor snowflakes...
😂
I hope the CIA , Mossad etc dont listen to this bloke. Very scarey ans realistic
Thanks, Rob. I briefly thought about that when composing this and figured that if I was able to come up with this they've likely been researching it for at least two decades. Far scarier, I suspect. If not, then sssshhhh!!!
