To be honest, The Equalizer never really had any setbacks. He dealt with every problem as soon as it came up with almost no opposition. Wick gets injured and loses his wife - and dog... and car. He also gets backstabbed by a colleague.
I saw the movie Fences in the theater and he's right, there were women doing the "hmmhmm" and saying things like, "that's right!" "so true!" during some of the dramatic scenes!
Denzel is a legend. Viola Davis shines in Fences and she will make you weep. He chose her and he set up that scene so that she could show her chops. It is brilliant.
I think it's a combination of things. Graham doesn't give off an ego-driven vibe, like he isn't trying to be the star of the show and the format itself helps. With American shows it feels like every guest has to be funny, the hosts can only play off comedy. On GNS, because all the guests are out at the same time, there isn't the same lone pressure to entertain an audience so the guests can relax, chat with each other and tell stories that have more than just comedy value.
Ghost_Hands Plus you can curse and speak about obscene things that American television doesn't allow. No one has to watch what they say cause it's just fun lol
I think they just genuinely feel comfortable with Graham. From the US, and I really don't care for any of the hosts on late night. This is my favorite show.
It's an amazing scene that he is talking about. They were phenomenal during the whole movie. My father, who is white, grew up in the same era and he was talking to the screen too, relating to the father-son relationship in the movie. He later told me, because I was in shock about the way the children were treated, that they was the mentality of some fathers in that time period and that his father (my grandfather) was a lot like that. The mentality that fathers had to provide for children but didn't have to like them. I proceeded to ask my father, at age 27 if he liked me, he said that if I was asking if he liked me every moment of every day during those 27 years he said hells no BUT that he also would NEVER have told me that 13/14 year old me that. As I get older I can look back and know that there are moments when even 27 year old me wouldn't like me but that the nature of growing up. Kids mess up, kids are rude, kids make you laugh, kids make you want to pull your hair out but I never ever felt degraded by my parents and that what it felt like for those kids in this movie. My white father who grew up in a working class family in Philly and then outside DC in Virginia, connected to the movie and that is the power of not only the performances of Denzel and Viola but the writing of August Wilson. It was amazing to watch and everyone should. It might help you understand why your parents and even grandparents act they way they do. It was a different time.
Fences was such a good movie that my fiance who doesn't like drama that much did not want to get up to go to the restroom when we went to see it at the movies. Brilliant acting.
The fact that my 2 favourite actors in Denzel & Keanu are both in this video is so good! It’s so good to understand that Denzel is more of a leading speaker than my John Wick (Keanu Reeves)❤️ love them both.
What a sweet story about the neighbor! If I had an acting bone in my body, I'd like to think it'd be nice to have everyday people saying hi and enjoying you doing your work. And-- I agree. You know the writing is good when the audience is muttering... lol.
I remember Whoopie in "The Color Purple" she was wonderful. As well, Oprah has a small but pivotal role. Great, heartbreaking film. I heard about Fences, but have yet to see it. This clip has mesmerized me, Denzels passion and enthusiasm is infectious, I need to see Fences. Cheers from Canada
You should see it. It's a very realistic movie and puts to the sword the romantic, idealist notion of humanity. There's always extenuating factors behind our actions because we are so incredibly complex and flawed, pathetically so. Things are hardly simply black or white.
I love August Wilson and Denzel is icing on the the cake...loved Jitney National Black Theatre Art Festival Winston Salem, NC...Devil with the Blue Dress...keep up the good work
When I went to see Fences, some stupid 12-year-olds were in there laughing loudly at all the good scenes. Really takes you out of it when someone's life is falling apart on screen, and a kid in the audience thinks it's hilarious. But the film was really good, and it's definitely not one to be missed. The play is amazing, too.
You say " I am allowed to do anything "- but not everything is good for you. And even though "I am allowed to do anything, I must not become a slave to anything " 1 corinthians 6:12 Do not be a slave to sin. Jesus loves you.
I love how comfortable Graham makes his guests feel.
wtfkendrick You said it.
That's why his talk/chat show is the best.
to be fair Denzel is comfortable in any damn place lol
Ikr, love how it just feels like they're all chilling on the couch having a conversation, so personable, he's the best chat show on UK Tv now i think.
Chloe Lane I agree! But I think we need more of the red chair stories.
I love how Denzel's become so comfortable appearing on this show he doesn't even come on in a suit anymore
CaptainGrumpy Ofcourse he's one of the Greats
CaptainGrumpy Jaime seems a bit over dressed for this panel! 😂😂😂
His attitude also changed. He's more relaxed and natural now.
When you hit a certain age you're not trying to impress people I guess
CaptainGrumpy So what? Do you care more about his attire than what he has to say?
The Equalizer and John Wick on the same sofa.
who'd win :O?
Ammar Jamie The Equalizer wins any day.
To be honest, The Equalizer never really had any setbacks. He dealt with every problem as soon as it came up with almost no opposition. Wick gets injured and loses his wife - and dog... and car. He also gets backstabbed by a colleague.
hiTo1337
actually he has when he got shot in diner restaurant on the right thigh and he got shot on the shoulder.
I love both but John Wick would win
I love the pullover he is wearing, makes it feel like you meet him at his home and listen to his stories while having a coffee
honest inmotion Ehh?!
Or a beer
all i want from life is communication skill as good as graham norton..
Ikr same
Ikr me too, super amazing..
Yes!!

there's something about Denzel telling a story man..
Much like Denzel acting, you just HAVE to watch and listen
He's fantastic. One of the greats.
it's quite inherent in black people man.
Stelios P That's what great actors do
It feels like any moment he's going to break into his Alonzo harris character
Denzel and Viola... Two of the top greatest actors, period. Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep are up there with them.
When denzel said to graham “ I did not mean to cut you off” wow! I love this man, his talent, politeness, and personality is everything! Remarkable!
denzel the greatest
Mironi Ghebregergis sia the greatest
i am the greatest
I read the title and I was like: "how could you not be" she is the most captivating actress/actor of all time.
the scene where she starts telling the truth in a big way was him saying yeah Troy, the character i played is a POS husband.
I think she’s incredible. I saw her in “Doubt” and was mesmerized. Viola Davis has so much talent!
Denzel, Keanu, Whoopi and Dornan on a same couch. I'll let that sink in for a moment...
a Much Ado about Nothing reunion between him & Keanu, i wonder if they touched on that
Mario Habijanec Ruined by Whoopi.
lala lova watch "the fall" and you'll change your mind about Dornan
Graham Norton just sits and lets his guests do their thing, there's hardly ever an un-interesting couch.
Mario Habijanec yes, soak.
He looks so comfortable, I'd love to sit next to him and listen to his stories
I saw the movie Fences in the theater and he's right, there were women doing the "hmmhmm" and saying things like, "that's right!" "so true!" during some of the dramatic scenes!
I think he could be sitting there in pajamas and fuzzy socks and i'd still feel under-dressed next to him, lmaooo
:D
I feel you ☺️❤️
Yep it's called class
Denzel is a legend. Viola Davis shines in Fences and she will make you weep. He chose her and he set up that scene so that she could show her chops. It is brilliant.
Denzel is so adorable. He's one of my favorite actors ever. Love him.
Graham's is just miles above all the other shows, the way the guests interact and genuine laughter makes it super fun:)
Why is it that everybody always sounds so much more unrestrained & genuine on the Graham Norton show?
It can't just be the booze.
I think it's a combination of things. Graham doesn't give off an ego-driven vibe, like he isn't trying to be the star of the show and the format itself helps.

Sharon Mullins He really is a great host lol
And he doesn't ask super personal uncomfortable questions
always loved Denzel. Liked him in American Gangster
John Wick and Equaliser in the same frame, finally!
Oh man, he tells a story so well.
Man he's a legend, can't hate the guy
No wonder Denzel is such fantastic actor, the man knows how to tell a story.
I love Denzel!!

Man on Fire is one of my favorite movies of all time. Crimson Tide is also up there.
Mike M man on fire was intense. one of the first Denzel movies I ever saw
Yes, great films! Fallen was another good one.

The fact that my 2 favourite actors in Denzel & Keanu are both in this video is so good! It’s so good to understand that Denzel is more of a leading speaker than my John Wick (Keanu Reeves)❤️ love them both.
I swear Graham's show is where celebrities randomly meet up
these four on Graham Norton...great way to start a grey, chilly day☺
What a sweet story about the neighbor! If I had an acting bone in my body, I'd like to think it'd be nice to have everyday people saying hi and enjoying you doing your work. And-- I agree. You know the writing is good when the audience is muttering... lol.
what a great group together.
Denzel is the best, charming, full of class and a decent human being. he should do more comedy as he is also pretty funny to.
Man I love the content you put out. It's like an abstract positivity.. And it's enjoyable. shows humanity man and how much we like to laugh
