At car shows he leaves the door open and encourages anyone to sit in it and have their picture taken with it. He even has a book in the trunk of the Countach that shows his granfather's car collection.

Total aside from the video, about Truett. My grandmother lived right behind the original Dwarf House on North Ave. She was waiting on a bus at the stop out front with my father and aunt wee little in the stroller and it starts to rain. Truett walked out and asked her if she would like to come in for a burger. She mentioned not having any money and he says, well I didn't ask if you had any money, just wanted to know if you were hungry. That started off a friendship that lasted the rest of his life. I wasn't really sure who he was at my age at the time, but it wasn't uncommon for him to drop by to say hello to her or run ins at the restaurant. Her name was Dorothy Shephard and was short with a very distinctive red birthmark across her face, neck, and chest.

He was very kind and took time to show me around his citation jet and having the pilots show me some things in the cockpit. We had a few letter correspondences sending me his book and invited me out to one of his summer camps. Never ended up going but I remember him fondly and thank him for helping spark my career in aviation.

I moved here back in 01, and heard testimony after testimony of how he impacted people here. I met a person who was an adult, and said how he got a personal letter from him when he made Eagle Scout, (as a kid)and I think a $100 or a savings bond for a $100. It really made an impression on me, because I had no idea that he was the person that started Chick-fil-A.

Do the wrap! Honor your family, keep the original color underneath to ensure it's legitimacy. The best advise I have received in my life regarding things that are as nuanced as cars related to whiskey at the time, "Don't let someone else tell you how to enjoy your whiskey. Drink it the way YOU like it." I feel the same goes for cars. There is an aspect of resale, however, when regarding a car of such personal value, you have to do what feels right for you, and not cater to anything external. I think the Chick-fil-a motif is an amazing homage to your heritage, and you can always know that you have maintained the integrity of the original Italian automotive masterpiece, while appreciating it's heritage in your family.
Don't let ANYONE tell you how to enjoy this beautiful and special machine. Enjoy it in a way that you feel appropriately honors your Grandfather!

Your grandpa visited my shop at Massey Airpark in Edgewater FL almost on a monthly basis in 2010-2012 for quite a while to check on all the Cobra's and GT40's I was working on and my export cars going to Europe. I was not really aware of who he was as he told me he had a restaurant in town, gave us a few business cards for a free sandwich and told me to check it out and let him know what we thought. :-) At one of his visits he wanted to buy a 1971 Corvette Stingray but that was leaving next day to Europe and then he said I want that one.. my Superformance S1 ( the light blue super seven which is in this video) I did not want to sell but he handed me a check and said just put a number down, I trust you.
We got a deal, I took him for a ride and after delivering the car we had a very nice visit at his condo in New Smyrna Beach and met his very sweet wife. I have fond memories of them and wish I had my S1 back.

Look up the early Periscopo cars, there's a blue one. Lamborghini would paint these any color the buyer desired. This was before Skittles-colored supercars became popular. Cocaine white, red, and black seem to be the majority of Countaches though.
