Another informative video! Out of all the knowledge tests I have taken to get to be a CFII, the FOI was my least favorite. Just had to grind it out! Ironically it took me a lot of rote learning, which is one of the type of learning the FOI teaches you about. Once I got my CFI and started instructing, a lot of what was covered became more apparent and applicable.
Does one still working on CFI Initial that has already taken the FOIs (earlier this year) not need the endorsement? I understand what you are saying but the FAR 61.183/185 doesn’t read that way. This candidate (me) seems to still need that endorsement for his checkride. I don’t need an endorsement to take the test obviously, but it does state I need a logbook endorsement.
The rule requiring the endorsement came into play on September 1, 2024. If you took and successfully completed the FOI before that date, you're good to go. If you wish to take the FOI after that date, the endorsement is required.
I'll take that deal,@@patbrown1808. Lou Costello is right up my alley. He was fat. I'm fat. He was goofy. I'm goofy. And when he ran into trouble he'd just scream "Hey Abbott," and the cavalry was on the way. I believe we have firmly established out alter-egos. Nice.
Aviation instructors handbook was my pillow when I got my CFI.
It's not a fun read, but it is essential.

Thanks!!
I agree...my least favorite, too. By a wide margin!!
Readiness. Nailed it. 👨🏻✈️

Not too bad guys, but I suggest a little less Abbott and Costello.
We're incorrigible.
I wanna be Abbott!!
Who's on first....😅@@MadPropsAero
I actually kinda liked it. Same info as others, but a more captivating presentation of that info. New sub
@@thebadgerpilot Thanks for the kind words. We enjoy ourselves and I hope that comes through!! Welcome!
