Do not sell the submariner. Take a long break from wearing it and if you do wear in the future you'll realise it's appeal again. It's a classic.
What you said!
I couldn't agree more. You will absolutely miss it.
Agreed. A grail birth year submariner.. that's where it's at. If you have the means then there's no harm in keeping it and saving for your next purchase
Gotta agree.
Meh taste change, traded in my sub for a two tone datejust a couple of years ago, best decision ever
as a filipino, I really appreciated your quick story about your grandpa's past!
Well said! I bought my first expensive watch late last year a Grand Seiko and hoping to add a Rolex this year. My wife and my goal is to pass it down to our sons.
All nurses at my hospital here in NY are Philippino 😂🤣 great people 👍🏽
Great story of brotherly love and sacrifice .....
E Anunciado don’t use your kid as an excuse to buy expensive watch
Touching tribute to your grandpa. A unique way to show how fashion blends with heritage.
I usually don’t conment on RUclips videos, but I had to say that you’ve been one of the most consistent content creators in my opinion for a while now. This video was fire.
Yes!
Great video and your Grandfather sounds like an amazing man! I’m sure he’d be proud of what you’re achieving in life. Wear your collection in good health.
Casio gang who can’t afford Rolexs raise yo hands!
I love my stainless steel casio bezel gaurd, Edifice. 100 bucks and tells time just as good as a rolex.
@@Pensive_Melancholy_ with it being a quartz, it actually tells time better than a Rolex haha
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
My Filipino neighbor and I were talking watches and family the other day and he told me a similar story. This is what watches are about-life and legacy. I love it!
That is one killer collection! If I were you, I would buy the second Tudor with the blued second hand. The other Tudor would be redundant in your collection, even though it's a great watch. May I ask, what happened to your Timex Marlin?
That short and sweet story about your Lolo made me think of my Lolo and Lola. It makes me appreciate how much they went through to give my parents and family a better life. Much love and respect to your Lolo.
Even if you're not wearing the sub a lot these days - I'd try like holy hell to keep it if you can. It's perfect, it will always be perfect. You will come back to it.
My favorite filming and video style. And amazing watch collection! Glad you're expanding. Thanks brother and stay safe 🙏🏽
I recently lost my uncle who got me into watches. Sorry for your loss and thanks for sharing 👍🏾
One of the main reasons I love watches is that one can attach memories or an achievement to the watch making it an endearing object ... I recently retired after a 34 yr career and bought myself a BB58 while on vacation and will always connect that watch with these memories.
love the meaning that your grandfathers beautiful Rolex watch has for you, cherish that watch forever! You have new subscriber.
This is the whole point of watch collecting. Watches with not just monetary, but personal meaning. Cheers on the beautiful collection!
Continues to leave me in awe. How can one man be so, eish. I get speechless.
Through your channel, I have learned how to create a functional wardrobe of essentials. With that being said, at 19 years old, I have learned that I love clothes and clothes that fit correctly but don’t break the bank, I have an alternative (Gap, J Crew, Banana Republic) of almost each item in your wardrobe and that has helped me start saving for my true love of watches. 6 more months until the Tudor Black Bay GMT will be mine!!! Thank you, your channel has helped me realize what menswear is the “priority” for me
The sentimental value of your grandpas watch is great. Great story behind the watch.
The Casio watch goes hard, I don’t care what anyone says!
Yea, cause that's the only watch u can afford.
You're weird
Liam Encabo its a well respected classic, every watch enthusiast must have.
AMAZING! Staple 91w working on my collection wish it was like yours. Keep it up I’ll get there one day
I did the same...bought a bike that has taken me on many adventures I will never forget and also had some left over for two other timepieces.
Just got into higher end watches, feels like you read my mind by releasing this video. Awesome collection!
I just discovered your channel really recently and I have loved your content ever since. And now I love it even more, it’s really refreshing to see a fashion RUclipsr who isn’t actively endorsing DW or MVMT. Hahaha your collection is a bit out of my league (I’m over here rocking an skx and orient bambino) but I appreciate the content. Keep up the good work
Thank you for sharing some your family's heritage with us! Awesome video
Beautiful story behind that Oyster Perpetual. Thank you for sharing that 🙏
Awesome video! As a watchgeek myself I can connect with your collections, they are spot on! I owned 114270 and my next grail watch would be Calatrava!
the pink tone on the indices of that last tudor were beautiful
Funny, The polerouter (with date complicationa) was a heritage from my grandfather to me ...
When I wear it and check the time, i think sometimes,55 years ago, my grandfather did the same on this watch and it gives me a smile ...
Isn’t that a great aspect about watches how we can connect memories to it... keep enjoying your special watch .
Been chasing a 1996 birth year 14060 for the longest time. Hoping to pull the trigger soon and wear the hell out of it. I wouldn't get rid of it just yet if I were you. It's your first Rolex (model), its a birth year, and it's a timeless piece that you would want to keep down the road. You've made a ton of memories with it as well and end of the day, those are priceless. Thanks for the great video.
Well that collection grew rapidly.
Love the collection Hueguh! Big watch nerd so to see a video like this from you is awesome!!
Another great video, thanks for continuing uploading videos during these tough times.
Great story behind the watch!
Awesome collection! Love every piece. Thanks you for your amazing content
I really like this collection and those you're considering, close to my personal tastes (aside from the Sub) and different to what most collectors seem to have. Keep finding your own way.
Hey Eric, been watching your channel for quite a while now. Started actually with your one watch collection. Seeing this video, I see you’ve progressed to quite a few time pieces of your own. Can’t say I don’t enjoy every bit.
I see some people saying you should never give up the submariner. And for good old sake. It’s an icon, for whatever reason. I mean, if I had a chance to own one, it would probably my shining glory and my one watch collection.
But its your call, if you really feel that its time to say goodbye and you feel other watches will fulfill what ever you desire in the future will give you that satisfaction with a watch, that’s your preference.
I can say I’m not a watch collector and at the same time a not watch collector, if you understand the finances behind this sentiment, but I’d say that if there is a time piece that made me into who I am today and let that go, that would be criminal, to say the least.
But its your choice. No other comments can pursued you otherwise. I think you know what you want, just have the time and understanding to do it.
Anyway, thank you for the content. If I was as strong as you I would have made my own, about watches, fashion, things worthy of mr. porter. Congrats on your marriage and hope to hear about those type of things as well.
Stay safe and take care! Your kabayayan,
JP
Love this, nice light, great colours. Good editing.
Fantastic! Glad you have your grandfathers watch. Amazing content, keep up the good work and stay safe!
Beautiful story and beautiful collection. Thanks for sharing
Yes!!!! Finally! Thank you for doing this vid.
Beautiful story with that last Rolex. Keep it up!
Selling a Sub is always a mistake, it's the most timeless of all watches and something your thinking will always come back too.
ohhh these are so clean and nice love the collection
❤️
Nice choices. Love the watch from your grandfather. It’s the best looking watch in your collection.
Love the story of the oysterdate. Cool video mate
Nice collection! your grandpas watch is stunning
Get the Santos! Works well as a daily / formal as well
Dope Collection Man!
Lovely collection and story!
ive been waiting for this video for a while!
How many watch do you find yourself wearing most of the time? I wanted to start my watch collection but what will be the perfect number. Maybe i will try a primary rotation and secondary watch, please make a video on that :)
Wow man i love your grandpops watch !!
Agree with you sir. Never in my life, thought that i would sell my skx009. But i did after owning it for 3 years. Through thick and thin that watch always with me on my wrist. Like you said “in life there are times when certain chapters end and new ones begin”.
Rosegold polerouter with silver dial ref.10357-2 (if I'm right) looks stellar, you should check that out. Great collection, you might also look into Cartier tanks or a JLC Reverso, a rectangular dress piece is far different style from your current collection.
Really liked that Polerouter! Absolutely beautiful video.
I think ever collector needs a theme to their collection. I learned my theme is the classic black dial with the metal band from a few different retailers. Although having the same color/theme maybe boring to some people, you should build a collection that best reflects your personality!
Great stuff
Incredible collection & camera work as always!
As always, great editing and awesome content. Keep it up!
wow, amazing watch collection, i love this video
Love this kind of video! Would go for the Cartier Santos, very beautiful Watch! What ring do you wear on your left Hand?
Love the WIP collection, def different and original as your content in this channel
I love the 36 mm explorer❤
The og bond watch
Awesome video. I don't have a Rolex myself, but ended up sneaking a deal on a Tudor 74000N and then had it restored. Can't say enough about that piece.....
I also own a geneve polerouter and I definitely recommend that over the others. As expensive Rolex’s are, I feel that the universal geneve is just a bit more unique, stylish, and have tons of pedigree behind it.
The story about your granddad was touching, keep up your hard work, he'd be proud no doubt.
That is the Perfect 4 watch collection‼️Way to say patient and do it right👍 1.Classic “Beater” 2. Diver “Tool” 3.Everyday “Field” 4. Timeless “Dress”🔥 Can’t wait to see your Perfect 10. Thanks for sharing 😊
Love your collection. we have similar taste.
I don't the idea of a dedicated dress should only work with suits. it can be dressed with a t shirt or a dress and would great if you can pull it off
Great vid! I’m lucky enough to own a couple of Rolex pieces as well but I’m equally happy with my Casio F91W with green case & black rubber strap. Belongs in every collection.
Kabayan! Awesome watch collection. Superb!
My Lolo’s Rolex found its way to me in a very similar way. He told me that wearing one is equivalent to wearing a modern crown. Insightful video, keep it up kuya!
I was going to comment: keep the sub for a little while longer, but now that I think about it, I would want to keep the sub. You do you and if you feel like selling it to open a new chapter in your watch collection, you should do what feels best for you!
Good video, subscribed! 👍
Any tips on how to color correct like this?
Really love the 14060.
Nice collection.
My family lost my grandfather's Seiko (quartz) watch. I wish I could have it. But I wish I had him back more. Great story man. Cool 114270 as well :)
Mabuhay pareng Hueguh!!! I am a fellow watch collector and been following your channel for a longtime. What makes your collection unique is the story each of your watch has. That for me speaks well that you have a great time collection. May you continue on giving us good insights, thank you so much and more power 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Great collection pare! Think of the future appeal/value of the sub before letting go, might be worth it to hold on to it for a bit longer.
The tudors though 🤤
Been interested in Rolex for a while. I think the Explorer may be the one.
Heyy bro
The Explorer is the 1st Rolex I plan to buy as well.
Nice collection. You should check out some vintage Omega. I have an early 70’s Omega Geneve. Small case size and very similar to the big rose Tudor you showed
I really like the older sub, but this one is nice.
Great story and your lucky to have had great grandfather. And 36mm rules!
Amazing amazing collection. All I can say is your current collection is way better than the watches you are eying. Please keep the sub, it's special. Universal is my favourite of the new ones you are thinking of but still not in place of the sub. The Tudors are nice but maybe keep looking, you'll find your special watch soon I'm sure. Btw the best of the video was the story of your grandfather. And that you would trade the watch to see him again. I feel too many people talk about inheriting watches but not about the people much. People are more important than watches 😊 have a lovely day ahead!
The key to appreciate the cartier is to consider it as a tool watch ( it was intended as the first pilot watch after all) and not as a dress watch. Looks perfect with a tshirt and sneakers
The explorer is dope
Hue take a look at Baltic....great watches. There have a modern vintage at a reasonable price point. The Tudor BB58 is the 39MM sweet spot.
Love the watch collection. Especially the Rolex grandpa watch.
A video about your Leica m6 or film photography in general would be cool, nice collection!
Was waiting for this video
Great video, very subtle and crisp, I am looking for a 14060 If you want it to go to go to a good home, in the Bay Area
Great tour. I could never part with my 14060M two-liner. It's the last of the traditional Submariners before the ceramic supercase era. Also, it's 39.5mm if you measure with a micrometer. If you want a dress watch, consider Grand Seiko.
Nice collection. I honestly thought you were wearing an OP in the last video as I didn't see the 369 numerals on it. Have you considered a Reverso? The duoface is cool and not too dressy.
Interesting collection. Wear your pieces in good health. Regards.
Beautiful story about your late grandpa's watch.
Awesome video. I can see why you are thinking about getting rid of the sub, as the Explorer and sub are quite similar.
1990 is my birth year as well. I'd be curious on your price for the sub (if you decide to sell) - from one 90s baby to another :)
Bro, you're lolo's watch is probably a Grail piece that not every watch enthusiast is lucky to have. The story and the sacrifice behind is epitome of The Dream! Hopeful that when this COVID storm pass we can do a watch GTG here in the Bay Area to share stories of our favorite watches. Ingat!
In the show notes you list the 114270 as a Submariner... it's actually an Explorer I. But your story about Grandfather's 6694 is the greatest thing I've heard in a while. THAT'S the Grail. Everything else is secondary.
You have a good taste.
