Made one for my neighbor. I was making a C2C blanket for my mom, ran out of yarn with only 48 stitches to go, on Christmas eve, and she was at Walmart and found the yarn and got me not just 1 skein but 3! So I took some yarn and made a cowl for her. Thank you
I can't believe how easy you made this. Easy to follow you. I appreciate your going slow and explaining as you go. I am so surprised that I did it. I am very pleased with the way it looks ❤.
Mine came out twisted and I only realised in the 4th round, I had to unravel it and it felt really bitter but it was alright, great tutorial as always!
Enjoyed this tutorial. I'd like to make a cowl in #4 worsted weight yarn. Can you please tell me how to figure out how long to make the chain? How long was your chain in that bulky yarn. Thanks for sharing 😊.
Loved this video! It was so great and easy to follow. I just have 2 requests (or questions). 1 how do you close the bottom bc mine has a V where the very bottom stitches aren’t closed. 2 at the very end when doing the single stitch it would be great if you videoed it from the side so we can see where your putting the hook.
That was my first time with the crab stitch. You did a great job describing it, and it’s a very cute finishing stitch. My piece turned out okay. Since I am a self-taught crocheter, I always struggle with what’s the last stitch in the row, so it leaves my piece looking a little uneven. Any advice you have on this is appreciated!
Haha! I'm so glad that you were able to make the basket and figure out the crab stitch! That's a big accomplishment. I think I know what you're struggling with. Here's a link to my masterclass (I highly recommend taking the whole class or at least looking it over to see if it will help) and in Lesson 10 I talk about crocheting in the round. It should help. Make sure you come back and let me know if it helped 😊 ruclips.net/video/npUnNdRVyXE/видео.html
Andrea, in response to your having trouble recognizing the last stitch, I suggest you attach a maker at the last stitch made. Move it up as you go. That's how I teach it to my students. Eventually, you'll be able to "recognize" the last stitch and won't need the marker. Hope this helps. 😊
how long should the starting chain be / what is the circumference of the finished product? I want to make this with a bulkier yarn and a bigger hook, and i’m trying to figure out how many chains I need to make it around this size. Thank you!
I just bought some beautiful soft yarn in a "beginner learn to knit" kit and it's driving me crazy! I don't know why I can't get it, but I'm DONE with trying to learn to knit!! I'm going to do this with my beautiful yarn instead!
I was looking for a nice easy cowl pattern and I found your tutorial. I love your finished cowl! The mini bean stitch makes a lovely scarf. I will be making this soon. And I subscribed to your channel because I really enjoyed your video. Liz B
What are the dimensions of the finished cowl when laid flat on the table? (just in case my yarn wasn't as bulky - I might need to go beyond 32 rows....)
I love this. I have some 4 wt fleece hugs yarn I want to use up on this project. I can just make my chain longer correct? How many inches is that start?
This pattern starts by creating the circumference, so to resize you would adjust the number of chains. If you can, drape a tape measure around her neck and adjust it to find your desired cowl circumference. Your chain will also need to be worked in multiples of 2+1. The height will depend on the number of rows. You can make it as short or as tall as you like. I hope this helps!
I'm sorry, but the mini-bean stitch is NOT beginner friendly 😭 or maybe I'm just have no talent for crocheting? My hook keeps getting stuck on the third loop and pulling it through the frist and second loop together with the last one. I don't get how to avoid that, it's driving me insane.
I have found if I am crocheting too tightly I get caught easier in my loops. Hold your yarn a little looser in your tension hand. You can then wiggle the hook a little easier to pull in through the stitch. Hope this helps.
Who will you be making your crochet cowl for?? 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

Watching for support!
Thank you!! ❤️
I love the mini bean stitch ❤
i decreased at the end there because i didn't like how it didn't cover my neck and just fell on the shoulders. The mini bean stitch looks good.

Can I use Himalaya dolphin baby yarn for this pattern? Will it turn the same or bigger?
What are the dimensions of the finished cowl when laid flat on the table? (just in case my yarn wasn't as bulky - I might need to go beyond 32 rows....)
do you think i could use some #6 super bulky yarn i have to make this?
This looks really small when i do it and ive kept my stitches loose. Should i just trust the process and it will be big enough for an adult??
I've seen a couple of cowl tutorials where they don't turn their work. what's the difference if you didn't turn your work?
I love this. I have some 4 wt fleece hugs yarn I want to use up on this project. I can just make my chain longer correct? How many inches is that start?
Yes absolutely! It's about 22 inches in circumference
I making this. how much yard do i need
How many chains would I use for #4 yarn with a 5.5 hook?
Hi Kiki! That depends on your personal tension, but this cowl is about 22 inches in circumference, so I would create a chain that's about that long
@@SigoniMacaroni So you can make any amount of chains? Doesn’t need to be even or odd numbers?
I want to try this pattern for my toddler. How long do you think I should make it? Does it have to have an odd number chain to start?
How would you start this for a 7 year old girl? Chains? and rounds?
This pattern starts by creating the circumference, so to resize you would adjust the number of chains. If you can, drape a tape measure around her neck and adjust it to find your desired cowl circumference. Your chain will also need to be worked in multiples of 2+1. What is a mini Bean?
I wish you would give letter number of hook instead number !
Not me. I like the mm size as reference.
