    6:35 to 6:42 is EXACTLY what is missing from the modern NBA. Back then teams made you pay for mistakes. Pippen gets fancy, Scott hits the 3. Today you have teams with 17 turnovers by half-time and the opposing team only leads by a point. The modern NBA is just too reckless, undisciplined and unorganized. Golden era NBA will always be better.

    I remembered this. Penny was hot for the first few months of the season and even led the NBA in scoring during the first couple of weeks. This game was one of the BUll's last losses in a long time that season.

      Actually, Mickey, they won 13 straight and then lost to the Pacers in December of 1995, then they won 18 straight. Know your factos ... ROOKIE!

      This was only the 5th or 6th game of the year so it would make sense if this game did give Orlando a false sense of confidence since nobody knew just how good this Bulls team really was quite yet.

    • @meg-k-waldren
      @meg-k-waldren 2 года назад +1

      It also was the beginning of management thinking the Magic could be good without Shaq, which led to Shaq leaving the following year and the Magic spiraling from a contender to a regular team. Just cause you win a few games without a key player doesn't mean you don't need em. Orlando is a cautionary tale.

      Bulls were also without Rodman. Rodman, in my opinion, was the big difference between 1995 and 1996. By adding Rodman, the advantage the Magic had at PF (H. Grant) was gone. As a duo, Shaq and Penny could hang with Jordan and Pippen, but adding a third HoFer was too much.

  • @davidmasse2829
    @davidmasse2829 4 года назад +4

    Why not show the end of the game??? The Magic won this game without Shaq. Jordan was so pissed off in the locker room at his teammates aftger the game. He could not stand losing to the Magic again and watching Horace Grant laugh out loud. Jordan would soon have his revenge.

    Everyone was saying Orlando was going to give Chicago a run for their money and were swept by the Bulls I know Magic players got injured. At least Sonics gave the Bulls more of a fight in spite trailing 3-0 as Nate McMillan played hurt showed more guts vs Bulls than Magic did in ECF.

      @@ChrisM07 might I remind you that the Magic were getting blown out when Grant got hurt? Not to mention the reason Grant got hurt was, in O'neal's frustration from getting blown out he tried to make a dirty play on Pippen who got out of the way leading to Shaq leveling Grant instead.

      Stop your BS. The Bulls won 3 on a row with injuries along the way... Kukoc had a bad back in this Magic series and played poorly... In 97' Rodman played poorly from injury throughout the playoffs until the end of the ECF... In 98' the Bulls went over half the season without Pippen, Kerr missed games, MJ had back issues, and still won 60 games and won the title with Pippen hurt for game 6 v. Utah @ Utah.
      So cut the BS. Magic were getting blown out already when Shaq tried to hurt Scottie but hurt Grant instead. Then the Bulls came from a huge deficit to win game 2. Then the Magic were already losing in game 3 when Anderson hurt his elbow and overplayed it to avoid what he knew was coming in game 4. Then in Game 4 the Magic got blown out in the 2nd half. Dont try to make revisionist BS history. The Magic got beat down, and their biggest problem was three things: 1. a lack of resolve and, 2. they lacked leadership. Horace Grant was a ring chaser not a leader and, 3. they really missed Jeff Turner. People like you downplay role players. Role players are important.
